Yun Zhiyi didn't feel satisfied even after throwing the ring away; she raised her voice.
"Yun Zhiyi, you're not going to tell me? Fine, I'll find out myself. I'm going to see who exactly is the man who bought that expensive pink diamond for you tonight…"
"What do you mean by that?" Seeing him so agitated, Yun Zhiyi tried to stay calm.
"Are you implying I'm involved with another man?"
"Aren't you?" Su Shen pointed toward the diamond ring lying in the trash. "If there's nothing going on, then how do you explain that ring?"
Su Shen's anger was frightening!
He was beginning to suspect her of being involved with someone else. But he didn't have proof, nothing solid. Just a ring, which could mean nothing at all. If she could quickly return it, this might all blow over soon.
"Yun Zhiyi! You're not going to talk? Fine, I'll get to the bottom of this myself. There's no one in Jin City I can't find out about," Su Shen said, seething with rage, and left Yun Zhiyi standing there.
Seconds later, his figure disappeared down the hallway, his anger clear as he marched off, feeling his pride had been wounded.
But what right did he have to be angry? He had betrayed her first, engaging in despicable acts with An Yirou. He had no place to stand on moral high ground, accusing her.
Yun Zhiyi knelt, a terrible premonition rising inside her. Her plans might be unraveling. She had been trying to expose Su Shen and An Yirou at their wedding, then leave, but it seemed she might not make it to that day.
The ring was valuable—too valuable to ignore. Quickly, she turned to the trash and searched, finding it covered in ash and grime. She used her clothes to clean it, restoring its shine.
When she finally collected herself, she made her way toward Li Yuye's suite.
As she reached the luxurious VIP suite, the guards at the door blocked her.
"Miss, without permission from Mr. Li, you can't go in."
Yun Zhiyi paused. "I have something important to discuss with him. Could you inform him?"
The guards exchanged looks before turning back to her. "Apologies, but Mr. Li isn't in right now."
"When will he return?"
"We don't know."
Li Yuye had left to catch up with the auction's owner, and his return time was uncertain.
"Miss, perhaps you could come back a bit later?"
But Yun Zhiyi had no intention of leaving. "That's fine; I'll wait here for him."
Seeing her determination, the guards said nothing further.
Inside an opulent lounge, the aroma of fine cigars filled the air.
Night Yan took a puff, blowing out smoke as he poured another drink for Li Yuye. Bottles littered the table, yet Li Yuye showed no signs of slowing down.
"Bad mood?" Night Yan finally asked.
Li Yuye held the glass with his long fingers, bringing it to his lips, letting the liquor burn its way down.
"When are you going to quit prying?" Li Yuye wasn't one to discuss his personal life.
Night Yan, undeterred, continued, "You dragged me out here to drink instead of resting. You owe me an explanation."
"Don't tell me you're down because A-Lang got lost."
"Ha." Li Yuye gave a small, ambiguous smile, lighting a cigarette as smoke coiled around him.
Clearly, there was no way Night Yan would get an answer out of him.
Just as Night Yan was about to change the subject, Feng Ze walked in.
"Sir, Miss Yun Zhiyi is here to see you."
