"Why not, I'm offering you the help you need right now," Alex said, and lynn sighed...
"I'm thankful for you help, but I can take care of myself," Lynn replied, not persuaded by his words... "I should get going then." lynn was about to get up and leave, but Alex stopped her with his next words...
"And how do you intend to do that... take care of yourself, " He asked, and Lynn's heart almost dropped when she remembered the prices of the houses she had seen... even with her new job, it would take her more than a few months to move to a new place because of the debts she had to pay every month and she knew it wasn't going to be a better place if she had to move hurriedly...
She swallowed and raised her eyes to look at Alex. "That isn't any of your business," she said firmly...it was really not his business..
"i think it is now Lynn. I don't think I can just turn a blind eye after last night. What if someone breaks into your house?"
"Then I will call the police," She retorted, and a small smile appeared on Alex face...
"I think my option is better, lynn... this place is much safer, no one can break into here, but your place. " He sighed deeply and shook his head... Alex eyes were on her trying to gauge her reaction before he popped the important question... he could already guess her reaction... she looked confused and he could see a glint of fear in her eyes... she was thinking about what he was saying intently and probably thinking more about the part of someone breaking into her house...
"Why do you care what happens to me... if someone breaks into my house, it has nothing to do with you....it doesn't affect you in any way, " Lynn responded... why was he so adamantly trying to convince her that she wasn't safe... what was his deal? she was more than sure something was up and knew that he wasn't being like this just because he cared... He had a reason or perhaps a motive...
But it was hard to read him... he looked calm and collected, unlike her... he was good as masking his emotions, which was something lynn wasn't really good at...
"You are right, lynn... I have nothing to do with me, and i know you are probably thinking about what my reason for this is, " Alex said to her like he was a mind reader...
"I do have a reason..." He continued...
"What reason?" lynn asked, curious to know what Alex Hult reason was for being interested in what was happening to her...
"Marry me," Alex said to lynn calmly, and Lynn's jaw almost dropped in shock... her eyes grew completely wide, and for a second, she was sure she wasn't hearing well... was he joking! he didn't look like he was joking he looked completely serious... Lynn was beyond confused now... what the hell was wrong with him!
Alex saw the look of shock and then confusion passing through Lynn's eyes just like he had expected... all he needed to do now was convince her into doing what he wanted...
"I will pretend I didn't hear that." Lynn stood up and turned to leave... her mind telling her that he was probably be crazy...
The smile from before came back to Alex face...
"Ten Million, I will give you ten million," Alex said confidently...
lynn immediately froze in her tracks when she heard him.... her heart dropping... she turned to look at Alex, who was no longer sitting down but standing and staring intently at her... "What?" She muttered in disbelief...
"Is that's not enough, then how about fifteen or no, maybe twenty?" Alex continued... anyone in her situation would surely be tempted. especially when they knew he had more than that amount of money...
lynn swallowed and fisted her hand, her heart racing like crazy in her chest.... different thoughts passing through her mind...
was he joking right now! That amount of money could change her entire life. Of course, she was tempted! she swallowed again...
She would be able to live more than just a comfortable life with that amount... Lynn raised her eyes to look at him to see if he was joking, but Alexander looked completely serious...
"Is that still too small for you? "
it was hard for lynn to believe he was offering her such an amount of money.... but she couldn't forget the fact that this man standing in front of her was a freaking billionaire.... An heir to a multi-billion dollar empire... He was filthy rich! and she was well... her
that meant that amount of money was nothing to him... He had nothing to lose... If she had that amount of money, she would move away to another country and open her own bakery! Lynn started to imagine how her life would be... She would be completely debt free. She could even go to college if she wanted... she would move out of that freaking place and would have the life she had always dreamed of...
But it wasn't for free... he wanted her to marry him... why would he want someone like her to marry him... They were two completely different people from different class and walks of life..... she was in no way in parr with him... and would never be...
"lynn," Alex called her name, snapping her out of her reverie....
"Why me?" Lynn asked in confusion... there were probably people off his social status who would be willing to marry him... people that would complement his status... why would be ask her of all people... a debt ridden lady who had no idea what her future would be....
"It has to be you and nobody else because it's you." Tha was the only response Alex could give her, which only made her confused....
Because it her? who was she exactly? she wanted to know...
