Lynn looked behind her before she picked up a picture that was turned upside down... the picture was dusty... it was a picture of a woman with two young children... The little boy and the woman had a bright smile on their faces while the little girl who looked older than the boy had a frown on her face... The little boy looked familiar, and it didn't take long for lynn to realise that the little boy was Alex... they had the same eyes... She wondered if the little girl was in a bad mood.
She picked up another picture, and it was of just the woman. was the woman his mother?
"What are you in here!" Lynn heard a voice come from behind her, and she froze... she immediately dropped the picture in her hand and swallowed. she turned to see Alex standing behind her with a deep frown on his face...
"You are back," Lynn said. She wondered how many hours he worked per day... Alex's eyes travelled from Lynn's face to her hand, and she immediately shifted the picture frame...
"I was just looking at it," She explained, but he didn't say a thing but instead walked right past her with a deep frown on his face... He looked really mad, and it was justified... Lynn knew she shouldn't have been nosy... she regretted it now...
"Don't ever come in here again," Alex said in an icy voice, and Lynn swallowed... "I'm sorry," She said and immediately scurried away. She was just looking at some pictures and nothing more... She had a deep frown on her face as she walked towards the guest room... What did he expect her to do all day in such a big house... he told her they would talk in the morning, but it was evening already... The house was rather empty and she had to stay in all day, of course she would grow curious... What lynn wasn't aware of was the fact that she almost found a picture of Alex's parents and her father, and that was the only reason Alex had gotten mad...
Marcus came into the room a few seconds later and saw Alex standing in the staring at the picture frame... "Why did you leave the door open, Marcus... I asked you to take out all of his pictures for such a reason" Alex said to Marcus, who had left because of a small emergency that needed his attention in the kitchen, he had not thought to lock the door and didn't think lynn would do in there...
"I'm sorry sir." He apologised, and Alex sighed... Thankfully, he had returned home early and on time because he had to speak to her... the issue would have become more complicated if she saw a picture of his father with his parents... It was a complication that he wanted to avoid....
"it's alright, just make sure the door is always locked." He was about to walk past Marcus but stopped in his tracks...
"And also tell her I want to speak to her...I will be waiting in my study," Alex instructed...
"Are you going to ask her?" Marcus inquired, and Alex nodded..
"Don't you think it's too soon, sir?" Marcus wasn't really on board with Alex idea... what if she refused..
"It's better now than ever... and I also have something she needs so I'm sure she won't be able to decline my offer" Alex sounded sure of himself as he walked out of the room and headed to his study or his father's study that was now his...
He sighed deeply as he sat there waiting for her... Marcus words ringing in his mind... was it too soon?

She entered the guest room and almost slammed the door... Lynn sighed deeply and picked up her phone... she had to return home soon... "I need a new place to stay," She muttered and started to check for house vacancies on the Internet... she gasped when she saw the price of a small apartment that was just slightly bigger than hers... "This is crazy," lynn said exasperatedly... A knock on her door distracted her from what she was doing. who was it now?
She walked to her door and opened it to see Marcus... "Mr hult wants to spesk to you miss...he is waiting for you in his study" Marcus informed and lynn almost blurted out 'Finally' she nodded and came out of her room to follow the butler to Alex study...
What exactly were they even going to speak about..
now that she was on her way to speak to him, it seemed all the questions she wanted to ask him had somehow evaporated from her mind...
Her mind had trailed off, and she almost bumped right into Marcus but stopped walking in time... "He is waiting in there," Marcus said, and before lynn could say anything to him, he was gone... she sighed and raised her hand to knock on the door...
She waited to hear his voice but heard nothing... was she supposed to go in or not? she was about to knock again when the door opened to reveal Alex... "Come in," He said... He no longer had that frown on his face...
"Have your seat." He turned to look at her and gestured towards the couch... Lynn took a seat, feeling uncomfortable after what had just happened between them when he caught her snoping around...
"I'm sorry for going into that room," She said when he took opposite her, and Alex nodded... "it's alright, it's okay to be curious."
"I'm going to go straight to the point, lynn... you can't stay at your place anymore it isn't safe... but you can stay here, " Alex said, and Lynn's eyes immediately grew wide...
"What!" she exclaimed, hoping she was hearing wrong... how could he easily just ask her to stay at his place... she knew her place wasn't safe but she would take care of it herself...
"I'm sorry, Mr. hult, but I can't do that," She declined firmly...
