When Tetsuya graduated from university and joined the company, Misaki had already been working there for nearly two years. As a member of the HR department, she had long been adored by the majority of people within the company. Apart from her kind personality and approachable demeanor, it was largely due to her outstanding looks and figure, especially her captivating eyes.
Both men and women in the company recognized this: when you locked eyes with her, her starry gaze, with its autumnal shimmer, seemed to absorb all your worries, almost like magic. Especially when she smiled, the corners of her eyes curved down, turning her eyes into two crescent moons, radiating light like the stars and the sea, enchanting everyone in the process. Coupled with her poised yet occasionally playful style, she was undeniably crowned as the goddess of the company.
Consequently, a group of single men of all ages began a long-term pursuit of her, but they all hit a wall. After facing rejection, they huddled together for warmth, jokingly calling themselves "the Worms." Since its inception, the Worm Society began to grow and flourish.
No one suspected there was any hint of ambiguity or unusual behavior between Tetsuya and Misaki; Tetsuya was never even considered a member of the Worms. So, when someone accidentally discovered and leaked Tetsuya and Misaki's cohabitation status, the entire company reacted as if a boiler had exploded, with the Worm Society feeling as if they had all been doused with boiling water. They couldn't believe that a group of strong and robust men had been beaten by a Tetsuya, who looked just like Tetsuya.
The Worms were perplexed and continuously asked why this was the case, leading a tech-savvy member to conduct a data analysis of the two's backgrounds (which essentially involved sneaking into the records room to search their original files). Ultimately, they found that Tetsuya and Misaki's educational paths overlapped perfectly from elementary school to high school and then to university. Although there was a five-year age difference, it could be said they had grown up together, making them childhood friends within reasonable limits. Upon discovering this conclusion, all the Worms wilted. It turned out Tetsuya's advantage wasn't in current conditions, but rather in the depth of time. How could they compete with that? They might as well disperse and go to bed!
Just when the Worm Society was on the verge of disbanding completely, another explosive piece of news erupted within the company—"Misaki is still a virgin!!!"
The Worms, amidst shock, fantasy, and hope, crawled back together, scratching their heads as they tried to analyze the situation. It was said that this news originated from a female colleague in the marketing department who was very close to Misaki. Although the reliability of this information was questionable, they could not confirm it with Misaki directly.
Curious individuals began to take turns scheming to extract words from Tetsuya and Misaki, causing a stir throughout the company, leading to chaos. A few higher-ups finally could not tolerate it any longer (unbeknownst to them, some may have been members of the Worm Society themselves). They summoned Tetsuya, who had stirred up a pot of trouble in just six months, and the seasoned employee Misaki, under the pretense of discouraging romantic relationships among employees and eliminating instability in HR, to clarify things face-to-face. Their intention was clear: one of them would need to leave the company. However, Tetsuya and Misaki confidently admitted that they had been friends since childhood, taking care of each other like siblings, and although they lived under the same roof, they were merely roommates, never crossing any boundaries.
Once the news spread, the situation gradually calmed down. Subsequently, under the pressure and persuasion from his colleagues, Tetsuya admitted that not only did he look like Tetsuya, but he was also the actual Tetsuya. From that moment on, the name Tetsuya became well-known. It served as both an objective description of his appearance and as a hidden blessing from the Worms.
For a long time afterward, Misaki continued to fend off the Worms' relentless advances. However, she had gained the shield of Tetsuya, and after a few years of using it, it became increasingly effective. Many of the older Worms eventually couldn't hold out any longer and retreated, but with new Worms continually emerging, the Worm Society continued to grow. That was until the recent third piece of news, which completely blew their hideout to smithereens—"Tetsuya and Misaki are getting married!"
