Chapter 26 - Chapter Twenty Five

All eyes are on Elena, and not in a good way. She wants whatever little pride she had before back and how is she going to get it back? By being the most powerful fairy she was known to be.

The bell rings for lunch and while everyone's going to the cafeteria she tells her friends she'll meet them there and goes straight to the guidance counselor's office. Which is also the magic teacher, Mrs Darla Fink.

She walks down the hallway and eyes are still glued to her. This has got to be one of the worst days of her life because she doesn't know if she's being stared at because she's a mess or because she's a powerful fairy who got schooled by a bunch of vampires. Or both.

She tries to ignore it, her mind should be set on one thing, becoming a powerful fairy so she doesn't have to go through humiliation ever again, and she hates being humiliated.

She stands in front of the caramel-brown door which has her name on it. She lets out a loud sigh and then knocks.

"Come in," she says in that light-hearted tone of hers and she sounds just like her daughter Hilda. Maybe she isn't Hilda's mother and she's Hilda from the future instead. Does time travel work in this world? She's got to believe it does since magic exists here. But she doesn't know.

She steps into the office to meet her hugging a student, a blond-haired girl with a blue bucket hat on her head crying profusely, her face is red and also filled with tears and snot, she looks miserable. Elena can only think that maybe she should stop whining and complaining because other people have it way worse than her today.

She stops hugging her and then gives her a motherly look, then she reaches for her table and gets some pink tissues that have tiny hearts on them and hands it over to her, she thanks her and takes the tissues then she blows.

"Okay, now what do we say to ourselves when we begin to feel ugly."

"I shouldn't feel ugly because trolls are the ugliest creatures on this planet and I am not a troll." She says in a Scottish accent. And Elena's eyes dart between the two of them. Her eyes blinking at the speed of light. All she can think of is: are trolls that ugly and also this girl is far from ugly. Is she the prettiest, no but is she beautiful yes. So who is calling her ugly?

"Ah, I'm so proud of you Rosetta, keep this mindset up and you will be feeling pretty in no time."

"Thank you, Mrs Darla."

"You're welcome honey, now go have your lunch." Rosetta nods and walks away, she sees Elena standing there and she stops, Elena only says hi with a genuine smile on her face, Rosetta smiles and says hi back then she continues moving, moving, until she's out the door.

"Elena, welcome please have a seat." Mrs Darla says sitting on her chair while Elena moves over to the chair opposite hers. Her office looks more like a greenhouse than an office, there are plants and flowers in every corner. It's beautiful to see someone this attached to nature. She is an earth fairy after all.

"I was about to send for you when I heard you were attacked by vampires but I thought why not just give her space and talk to her tomorrow? And yet here you are. You have come on your own free will, which is wonderful to see." Mrs Darla says happily which puts a small smile on Elena's face.

"So how are you? It's okay to cry if you want to cry, this is a safe space." No, Elena doesn't want to cry, she's tired of being emotional she wants to be fierce and ready for anything. She didn't even come here because of the whole vampire thing. She came here because she wants to learn how to use her powers for battle and not just to create bulb lights.

"No, I don't want to cry I don't want to talk about any of what happened earlier," she says. And Mrs Darla furrows her eyebrows.

"You're not?" Elena shakes her head.

"I'm here because you said we can have private lessons on how to use my powers."

"Oh, oh yes I did."

"Okay, I uh, I want to know how to control my powers and know how to use them in battle." She says and Mrs Darla just looks at her. She knows that she feels ashamed and doesn't want to be a laughing stock anymore so she wants to learn how to fight using her power so she doesn't look or seem like a weakling. Mrs Darla knows these things, she is a therapist after all.

"Look, Elena, I am open to teaching you how you can tap into your power but your power is something that you were born with to mostly help people and help yourselves. We fairies were never created for war."

"It's too bad war had to find us," Elena says looking down, thinking about her parents. Mrs Darla nods because that is unfortunate and she completely understands why Elena feels what she feels. She wants to learn how to defend herself, live up to her name of being the most powerful fairy, and not be a disappointment to her family especially her parents who sacrificed their lives for hers. To be a fairy.

"We should meet every day after lunch." Mrs Darla finally says and Elena looks at her beaming. She cannot wait to start learning how to use her magic in more ways than just creating light.

"I did promise you a one-on-one class."

"Thank you so much, Mrs Darla. Thank you."

"Just doing my job sweetie," she says and a smiley Elena rises to her feet and she walks toward the door.

"Elena." Mrs Darla calls and Elena stops and then turns around. "Don't let the others get into your skin that much. You're more confident than you think."

Elena put a small smile on her face and says "Thanks." because she needed someone to remind her of that fact. She puts her hand on the door and then she walks out of the office. She sees Pierre walking toward her and she begins to blush but she stops when she remembers what happened to him now she's looking at him with concern, but mostly she's looking at his neck.

"Oh my God," she says in awe, she places her hands on his neck and looks at the holes that were driven inside by that nasty vampire. There are holes but no blood and his neck kind of smells like coconut. Maybe whatever the nurse applied on his neck to heal the bite smells like coconut.

"I'm so sorry this happened to," she says, genuinely she feels like it's her fault.

He shrugs acting all cool with it. "It's okay, princess. I'm an elf we dive into danger."

"Even if it means that danger gets you killed?" she asks him and he's smiling at her, he likes that she's worried about him and all Elena can think about is how fucking gorgeous this French man is. He's so pretty it hurts. But his being pretty is not the reason why she cares. He saved her life, again. And she's forever grateful.

"You're brave," Elena says.

"Ah, thank you princess." he does a small bow. Pierre loves to be called brave than to be called handsome. He appreciates the compliments of being called handsome but he believes there's more to life than just looks. "Shall we go for lunch?" Pierre asks and Elena completely forgets that it's lunchtime, that's what happens when she talks to someone pretty or when she sees something pretty, she loses sight of other things and forgets.

"Sure," she says but she turns from side to side looking for someone. "Where's Alex?"

"He's still at the nurses' office being forced to take his drugs," Pierre says and Elena shakes his head.

"That boy is so stubborn, he's always hated medicines, nurses and hospitals. He's more scared of Doctors than he's scared of clowns." Elena says and that gets a laugh out of Pierre.

They walk side by side to the cafeteria. They engage in small talk, and Elena asks him questions about what his family is like. He says his family are elves and they protect people and throw themselves in danger at every given time but they live a simple life by owning a restaurant together. Elena thinks it's cute and Pierre says he has a brother who's in university.

And wow he has an older brother, she wonders if he's just as handsome as Pierre. But how can that be possible? No one can be more handsome than Pierre.

They get into the cafeteria and all eyes are on them. No, not just Elena, but both of them. People are calling them the IT couple now, and they're already shipping them.

But there's only one person who looks at them with so much rage, and that's Anastasia.
