Elena has never been this exhausted her whole life in the name of school. And this is just the first day imagine what the other days of schooling in this magical elite boarding school would be like. The girl is so tired that she's decided to skip lunch in the Cafeteria just to rest in her room. Fran has taken her time to show her to the dorms before she can go back to the Cafeteria to have lunch even if it means missing the special pastries that the students will finish before she gets there.
She's always one of the first people to get to the Cafeteria before anyone else for those special pastries specifically. She must have those pastries for her day to be a good one.
Another thing Elena has noticed about Francesca is that she loves food so much. She's a foodie who cannot do without it, if she wasn't inspired to be a knight she would be a Chef, this, Elena knows for a fact.
Francesca explains to Elena that there are two dorms the boys and girls dorm for the students who are not royalty, and the regal dorm for both boys and girls. The boys are downstairs meanwhile the girls are upstairs. Unlike the regular dorm, the regal dorm has one bed in each room, the royals do not share a room, meaning they have no roommates which kind of sucks for Elena because she wanted to have the full boarding school experience she wanted Fran to be her roommate at least.
She and the blue-haired girl stand in front of what looks like a penthouse, no a hotel, Elena isn't sure. There's a large dome on top of it and Elena looks at it in awe. She follows Fran into the building and there is the house mother on the phone talking to someone about baby dragon eggs. She wiggles her fingers at Elena when she sees her and Elena waves.
"Okay, just let me know when they've hatched," she says to the person on the other line of the phone and then she hangs up. "Elena!" she says enthusiastically. "How was your first day of school?"
Exhausting. "It was great, I'm a bit tired though."
"Oh, you need your rest totally understand. Fran will-"
"Show her to her room. I'm on that already."
"Oh okay, your bags and stuff are already in there thanks to the pixies. You're going to love it there."
"Thank you," Elena says then she follows Fran up the stairs. Elena admires the red wallpaper which has tiny crowns on them and the portraits of pixies and unicorns on the walls. As she heads up the grand stairs she makes sure to observe the area so it will be easier for her to get used to it. So she doesn't get lost.
"Is she the only one in charge of the regal dorms and the regular dorms for girls?"
"It's her and Mr. Volkov. But we don't really need supervision because we're royals and stuff and we dare not disgrace our family." Fran shrugs knowing she has already embarrassed her family more than once. But it's their problem they should not be trying to control her. They need to know she's a wild horse, she cannot be tanned.
"Okay, here we are" she says unlocking the door and they get in. This room looks more like a room in a boarding school and since it is a boarding school. There's a desk by the side, the bed looks like her bed back at home on earth but it looks more comfortable than the one back at home, the bed is made with a red bedsheet and red pillow case, her bags are arranged at one side but they look empty. She opens the large closet to see her other uniforms and the clothes that were gifted to her by her family arranged inside. Her shoes are in here as well. She smiles.
"My room is right opposite yours and if you need anything I'll be in the cafeteria. My stomach's telling me something's not right."
Elena giggles and waves her away. "Go."
"Okay, see ya." Fran rushes out of the room and she closes the door. Elena doesn't even take her uniform off she just jumps on the bed and gets sent to dreamland. She's out like a light and she's already in another dimension other than the one that she's in.
She's sitting on a throne and she's all dressed up. She's wearing a cream-coloured dress, and she's covered in gold, gold earrings, a gold necklace, a gold bracelet, a gold crown on her head and a gold sceptre in her hand. She sits on that gold throne as she answers to the people in front of her who are bowing. But the people who are bowing aren't people, they're monsters, vampires, trolls, witches and other demon-like creatures are bowing down to her.
She finds it odd, aren't they supposed to be attacking her? What has she done for them to bow down to her? Is it because she's that powerful and they're all scared of what she might do to them if they ever cross her? What shocks her the most is the fact that the monsters are bowing to her but the fairies are rushing straight toward her to kill her. She doesn't even move, she doesn't flinch, she doesn't scream, she just sits on that throne.
Her eyes glow a bright yellow, everywhere's bright until it turns white and Elena wakes up and sees darkness. Well, her room is illuminated with light the outside is just dark, it's nighttime.
"You talk in your sleep cousin." She jumps at the sound of someone's voice and she sees her cousin sitting cross-legged on the chair just opposite her bed, he's not in his uniform. It looks like he was barely in uniform anyway, but he's wearing a blue shirt, which isn't buttoned and is showing a white vest, the vest doesn't look like the one he wore for school, this looks new. He's wearing blue trousers and white shoes.
"Henry what are you doing here?" she asks rubbing her eyes, and she closes her mouth when she yawns.
"I came to check up on you cousin, Fran told me that you didn't eat lunch, I bet you're hungry. Get dressed dinner's almost ready." Right when he says that. Her stomach starts to growl she clutches her stomach. And she gets out of bed and she stands there looking at Henry.
"Well, chop chop we don't have all day." Elena still stands there looking at him and he doesn't understand why she's looking at him like that. But then he finally gets it.
"Oh, I'm going to wait outside."
"Thank you," Elena says. Henry gets up and walks outside leaving Elena to dress up for dinner. She yawns again walking up to the closet, but she pauses trying to understand why she had that dream that she had. That was strange, she's been having strange dreams these days mostly of her being in danger. Was her coming to this world a mistake? No, that's why she's here, so she can understand her craft and use it to her capability.
Now, she can think about dreams or go eat because she is indeed hungry.
Both Elena and Henry are walking toward the dining hall which is in the middle of the regal dorm and the regular dorms. They're quiet, both looking at the stars. The natural light attracts light fairies so easily. It does because they feel more powerful under natural light and Elena does feel the power even though she doesn't know how to use it.
"What is Anastasia's deal? Why does she hate me?" Elena finally asks and Henry doesn't even look at her when he answers her question.
"Anastasia's a bitch she doesn't hate you only, she hates everyone."
"Well, she seems to like you."
"Oh, she doesn't like me, she tolerates me. I'm a tolerable guy." he looks at her and winks and Elena begins to wonder, if they weren't related would Elena fall for his charisma? She thinks not because even though he's talking to her he's busy looking at other girls. She rolls her eyes and continues walking.
She gets into the dining hall and a lot of students are roaming about, some go straight to the line to get their food some sit at the table conversing about stuff only they and their friend group will understand.
Henry follows the girls he was looking at just to flirt with them and Elena goes straight to the line to get her food. After she's gotten her food she looks for Alex in this crowded refectory. While she looks for Alex she notices that people are staring at her and talking amongst themselves. She ignores them and she continues to look for Alex.
"Elena! Over here!" she hears someone hail and she spots Alex waving to her. She smiles and walks toward the table. He scoots over for Elena to sit.
"Elena!" Fran, Adrian, Greta and Hilda call her name in a way that shows that they're really happy to see her.
"Hi guys," she says smiling.
"How was your rest princess?" Pierre asks her and everyone at the table can sense the tension between them. Thank the Gods Alex did not have to say anything.
"It was-"
"Yes, Elena tell us." she gets interrupted by someone with a Russian accent. She sees Anastasia standing in front of her with her arms folded. "How was your night?"
