As soon as the train stops a bunch of people in black rush into the train. Elena fearfully moves backward and hides behind Alex thinkingit's witches again but Alex places a hand on hers and faces her.
"It's okay." He says with a smile. "They're knights." And of course, they are. The dark hair, the bony faces, the pointy ears and the black fits. They are elves and all elves are trained to be knights to protect the magi from evil, not creatures of darkness, or evil. Fairies can be evil too.
They're here to clean up the mess that is the melted witches thanks to Elena's powers, some go around the train to see if they'll find more witches so they'll be able to persecute them.A lot of elves are hoping that they'll spot a witch so that they can have an excuse to kill one.
An older handsome white man with short red hair and a beard walks toward Elena and her friends with a smile on his face. He's tall, muscular like almost all the elves here, and has emerald green eyes and a pointy nose. He holds his head high and Elena doesn't think there's an elf that doesn't have confidence, they all have it and that's what she likes about them. That and how they risk their lives to save and protect others.
He's wearing a black sweater vest, black pants and black polished shoes. Elena doesn't know why elves are obsessed with black but they can pull it off.
"General Rodrigo!" Pierre and Alex say in unison placing their hand on their right chest in a form of greeting or salute.
"Alexander, Pierre. You two have done an amazing job. Good work." he says in a Spanish accent to them and they're smiling being proud of themselves Elena thinks General Rodrigo is praising them for bringing her to Euroix safely.
The handsome man looks at Elena with a smile on his face and what he does next is unexpected. He takes a bow, and Elena might be a princess and allbut she didn't think she would receive a bow so soon.
She wants to tell him that he doesn't have to do this but she doesn't think he'll listen to her.
"Princessia Elena," he says. Then looks up at her. "Welcome, it is a pleasure meeting you, I'm General Gustavo Rodrigo." why is his Spanish accent way better than the Spanish accent back on earth? Even Pierre's French sounds better, sexier.
"Likewise," she says. "You're a knight," she says and she doesn't know why she said that because it is indeed obvious that he is a knight.
"Why yes I am. It's my duty as an elf to protect people most especially people like you."
"People like me?"
"Royalty," he says and of course, that makes sense. Elena doesn't know why she is acting like she doesn't know all this already. Alex had told her everything one summer when he got back from school. They spent the whole night talking about this world they didn't even sleep. And it was worth it, her dad also explained things to her but he mostly talked about how he and Alexa were the power couple of their school. Talking about Euroix brings so many memories for him, he gets nostalgic when he brings it up, and that's why he didn't explain the world to her like Alex did.
She doesn't know why she's acting like she doesn't know all this information, she does maybe she's still shaken up by the witches.
"Please come along, we will escort you to your limo." He says walking ahead and she and the boys follow him. Elena looks backwards to see the other knights have packed the witches up in a dustpan and are ready to put their remains into the bin. Good riddance, she hopes she never sees another witch ever again.
She walks out of the train with quickness like another group of witches will come out to try to destroy her but she will destroy them first. Even though she doesn't know how to do that in the first place. It just sort of happened.
She steps out of the train and jumps when she hears loads of clapping and screaming. She looks around to see people cheering and Elena thinks they're cheering for the knights because of how hot or brave they are butthey're not cheering for them, they're cheering for her. She knows this because she's heard people shout."Welcome home Princess Elena!" and there are also signboards with her full name on them.
"Welcome home Princess Elena Victoria Katherine Baron-Grant."
"Sorry, your uncle announced to the whole continent that you're alive and are coming back home. I should have given you a heads-up that some fans of yours are going to do this." Gustavo says. And Elena turns to Alex. Alex smiles at her.
"You're famous" he says and Elena smiles at the people who are so happy that she's here. She then begins to wave at them. They're all so pretty and different. Some golden brown skin, some white skin. Some with red hair and pink. She just saw a brown girl with curly pink hair and Elena thinks she looks beautiful.
The United Kingdom might be a world for light fairies in general but a lot of other fairies settle in here. She did see more fairies with blond hair than any other hair colour.
They're out of the train station and she sees a long limo in front of her. She has never gotten into a limo before, she cannot wait to get in. She believes she's going to feel like a princess in this magical world. She looks around her andit's just so beautiful. It feels like she has fallen into a storybook. The sky is both blue and pink, the sun makes her feel more energized and powerful than usual. There are like five rainbows in the sky, no, seven.
She sees the passers and some are looking at her while they go about their day, some stand and stare taking pics of her with their phone. Some fairies have their wings out and are flying in the air. Their wings are so beautiful, she thinks.
Wow. She thinks this is magic.
The chauffeur opens the door for her and she's about to enter the car but she looks at Alex and Pierre and tells them to go in first because she wants to admire the world through the window. Alex and Pierre look at each other first.
"Sure." they both say then they jump in. Elena turns to Gustavo.
"Thank you, Gustavo."
"No need to thank me, princess," he says. "Just doing my job." Elena smiles at him and then she gets into the limo the chauffeur closes the door. Gustavo leads closer to him. "Drive safely,"he says to him and he nods then goes over to the driver's seat. The vehicle moves and Elena squeals but not outwardly, she's excited. She might not show it much but she is excited to see this world.
They're in England, and the England here is way more magical and beautiful than the England back on earth. There are skyscrapers and tall buildings but there's a magic to it.
She's not only seeing fairies and elves but she's also seeing gnomes walking, and pixies flying about. She cannot wait to have her wings so she can fly. She can already picture it, the feel of the wind in her face as she floats effortlessly.
She sees a unicorn walking by the side of the road.
"Oh my God," she mutters looking out the window and admiring the unicorn with the gold horn and the rainbow main and tail. She has always dreamed of seeing a unicorn and now she's seeing one live and direct. She can't wait to actually go up close to one.
The limo stops and she notices that the driver has stopped because of traffic lights ahead. But it's not the traffic lights she knows.
There's red, amber and green but it's not powered by technology but powered by magic. The red is floating high up in the air and next to it is the countdown, she looks away from the front and continues looking out the window. And a car stops right next to the limo and in that fancy car is an older lady with long blond curls dancing to music. She looks like those cool grandmothers who allow her grandkids to smoke or smoke with her grandkids. Elena smiles at her, she knows it's not polite to stare but she cannot help it. The things and people here are worth staring at.
The limo moves and she doesn't see the lady anymore, thelady's gone. Elena continues to admire the brand-new world she has gotten into.
She spots a magical billboard that shows adverts andit shows a beautiful singer with long red hair. Lucretiais her name. She looks cool andshe looks her age, shecan't wait to start listening to the music here. Alex says a lot of musicians here are way better than Taylor Swift and he didn't just say that because he doesn't like Taylor, atleastthat's what Elena thinks, that's just what Alex told her.
The street lights stand so tall and are pretty to look at, the billboard, the malls and the restaurants she has seen, the fairies flying. It's all so fucking beautiful. She loves it. She loves all of it. Alex didn't do justice describing this world but she's okay with that anyway. She loves this world and that's all that matters.
If Britain can look like this then she wonders what the other countries are going to look like.
She drives past a large statue that's in the middle of the road. It's a golden statue of a fairy woman wearing a crown on her head a sword on one hand and a shield on the other. Elena thinks she looks badass.
While she has been admiring England, she doesn't know that Pierre has been looking at her, loving how she finds the world fascinating. She looks like a newborn baby who was just brought into the world, he thinks it's cute.
They have left the city and are now on a road where everywhere you look there are trees. Britain is currently in the fall season and the trees look so colourful, the leaves are painted yellow, red and brown and it looks more like a work of art than something real.
This world is too beautiful she doesn't know how to look away.
"We're going to Illuminance Palace next," Alex whispers to her and she looks away from the window immediately and then looks at her best friend.
"What?" she says. She thrusts her head forward and he's right, she can see the palace up ahead. She swallows, for the first time in a long time, Elena is extremely nervous.
