Chapter 11: Slumber.
They materialized in Niel's expansive room.
Grey hues dominated the space.
A king-size bed stood central.
Three plush couches flanked the sides.
Luxury oozed from the simple decor.
Valtira gently laid Niel on the bed.
She covered him with the duvet.
Alawis's tears flowed.
"I'm sorry," she whispered.
"I shouldn't have accepted the invitation."
"It's all my fault."
Valtira enveloped Alawis in a warm hug.
"No, it's not your fault," she soothed.
"This happens to Sir Niel every decade."
"It's been two years since the last episode."
Alawis's sobs subsided.
Valtira released her.
Alawis's expression turned skeptical.
"I know this has been happening to Sir Niel," she said.
"But it wasn't to the point of fainting."
"I hope he's reached a breakthrough."
A day passed.
Alawis and Valtira sat vigil beside Niel's bed.
His slumber persisted.
Valtira rose.
"I need to manage things," she said.
"Sir Niel still hasn't woken up."
Alawis remained silent.
Valtira vanished.
The room fell quiet.
Alawis's gaze lingered on Niel's peaceful face.
Concern etched her features.
