Chapter 14: The Truth About Hell
Alawis's eyes widened. "Wait, what? I thought the dead can't feel pain."
Valtira pinched her, and Alawis screamed, "Ouch! What did you do that for?"
But then her expression transformed from pain to shock. "How is this possible?"
Valtira explained, "Since you died, you can't die again. But you're not a demon either. Since Hell is meant for punishment, for you to exist here, you have to be in one of two forms: flesh or soul."
Valtira continued, "Both forms can feel pain, but flesh will bleed; it just won't die. Believe me, it's painful. While for souls, it's even worse; it's usually meant for sinners. The pain they suffer is 100 times more painful and lasts longer than the body."
Alawis felt shocked, amazed, and confused; it was a complex mix of emotions.
Valtira smiled satisfactorily. "Let's take this pinching, for example. You felt the pain, but if it were a soul, it would feel 100 times your pain."
Alawis murmured, "I can't even imagine it."
Valtira nodded.
