Huo Yi sat in the living room as he looked at the people who were running about worriedly, his grandpa kept making calls, he would greet the person with a smile but his face would immediately turn bitter after hearing a not satisfying reply from the other side. He looked at his father who stood next to the window as he placed lots of calls to who knows? And the most tragic of all is his mother who only knew how to cry when helpless. Huo Yi looked at them with mockery in his eyes, he couldn't believe they were going crazy over someone who wasn't lost but eloped with a man, but he knew he couldn't tell them as they would never believe him.
His family had always believed that his elder brother, Huo Fei was the most precious and the most kindhearted person just because he had been sick since he was a child and he had a frail body. But the real reason he looks frail is because he does not exercise. He had always known his brother did not like him since they were kids, he was really sad then but he learned to get over it when he knew the stupid reason for the hate, which was that his brother never wanted anyone to share the love of his family with him. He loves being the center of attention always, he felt that the birth of a new child would take the love of his parents and family away and that's why he resorted to fake illness every time.
He had never had the care and love of his family since he was a baby, as they revolved around his always sickly elder brother, he was sad at first and always did things to get their attention but at times went on, his disappointment was more than his expectations and now even his little expectations has been exhausted. As long as he was provided with material things, like pocket money, school fees, shelter, and clothing, then he was fine. And thank goodness he had never been denied that. His education is very fast as he got admitted to the Chinese medicine department at the number one university in the country, the Capital University, and he is in his final year now. He was happy he would be free from his family after he was done with studying and started working, so he had been saving all his money as he wanted to open a private clinic for himself. However, his family wasn't in support of his choice of study as they wanted him to study what they wanted, which was music. His family was a family of art and music and that is why they loved Huo Fei more since he was a violinist and had won awards since he was a kid which brought fame and pride to the family, while he, Huo Yi was like an outcast.
"Huo Yi! Are you sure you don't know where your brother is? Don't just sit there and watch us run about without saying anything!" Huo Yi's lips switched when he heard what his mother said, he couldn't believe they were asking him to do something when they could do nothing about it.
"Mum, I have said it more than a thousand times, and I will say it again, I don't know where your beloved son is!" Huo Yi said as he looked at his mother coldly. He had lost all feelings for his family and only indifference remains. His heart only contains himself and someone he loves but unfortunately loves his elder brother. Funny right? That's true, he is in love with a man who loves his elder brother. Sometimes he asked himself if his brother was his nemesis, he asked himself if he was only born to be a background for his elder brother, but he knew he just had to keep going, and when he was capable of staying alone, he would separate from this family that bought anguish to his heart.
"Why are you angry? I was only asking since you both are brothers and he might have told you something!" Madam Huo complained when she heard his cold voice.
"Haah! Brothers? More like enemies." Huo Yi muttered and smiled as if he had heard a joke.
"You and I know we are not close, so why deny it? Don't get me involved in this." Huo Yi said as he stood up and picked up his bag to leave when he was stopped by his grandpa's voice.
"Where are you going?! And how could you not care about your brother being kidnapped?!" His grandpa's old but strong voice sounded in the space.
Huo Yi closed his eyes and clenched his fist tightly as he tried to control his outburst. After managing to control it, he turned to face his grandpa with a fake smile on his face.
"Kidnapped? Haha… Grandpa, why are you lying to yourself? I am going to class, you all can keep looking for your beloved Feifei!" Huo Yi walked out ignoring the shouts and cries behind him.
"Look at him! Look at the good son you gave birth to, I am not surprised, he was trained by an uncultured nanny!" His grandpa's shouts could still be heard even after going out.
Their words don't hurt him anymore, and that's was the truth, he was raised by an uneducated nanny, but she was the one who taught him how to walk, how to hold chopsticks, and how to say his first word, So he was not ashamed of her. She is old and retired now but he still goes there to visit her on holiday, as she doesn't have any children, he is like a grandson to her and that is why he must make it, he wants to renovate her house and make her happy.
Huo Yi walked to the bus stop where he would take a bus or call for a driver. The Huo family is not rich but they always act like they are part of a wealthy family, meanwhile, they struggle to pay bills that are more than their weight. He stood under a tree and couldn't help but think about the man he had secretly been in love with for years, Liang Chen.
A 27-year-old man and also a well-known businessman. He is the CEO of Liang Medical industry and also one of the most eligible bachelors in the whole country. He had met Liang Chen when he was 12 years old, he had saved the teenage Liang Chen from drowning when he went camping. He had saved him and went to call for help from the adult but when he got back to the place where he had saved him, he didn't see him anymore. He had felt down for days because of that but he was comforted by his nanny. Since then he has always remembered that face and had unknowingly developed a strong feeling for an unknown person, he thought he would never meet him again but imagine the shock and heart-wrenching pain he felt when he saw him come home with his elder brother and introduce as his brother's boyfriend. He never wants to experience that pain again. He had fallen sick for weeks but when he saw the teary eyes of his nanny, he knew he had forgotten that unthinkable thought. He knew he couldn't have him but that did not stop his heart from being bitter when he saw the man he loved being all lovey-dovey with the elder brother who had taken all the love that was supposed to be his.
As he looked at the sunset, he suddenly had the urge to see him. He wanted to know how he was doing, so he ordered a taxi to drive him to his house. After an hour of driving, the car stopped in front of an apartment building. This was not his first time coming to Liang Chen's house, after that day, he became friends with him and Liang Chen saw him as a younger brother, they had a common topic since he owned a medical company that produces drugs and they are involved in supplying herbs too.
He walked to the door and punched in the password which was his brother's birthday date. He remembered how sad he was when he found out the password was evidence of the love between them and it was so a call for him to wake up from his dream, see now? This password was like a joke as Liang Chen had been cuckolded by his brother.
He entered the door, and everywhere was dark, he wondered if Liang Chen was not home. As he walked in, he heard some sounds that indicated he was home, so he looked for the switch and switched on the light, which showed the tragic situation in the room.
Everywhere was scattered as bottles of alcohol litter on the floor. Clothes and shoes were scattered on the ground which shocked Huo Yi. He knew how neat Liang Chen was so he was shocked to see the untidy house. But he wondered where Liang Chen was, and this got him worried. He immediately searched around the sitting room, but he didn't find him. He suddenly heard a loud noise from the bar area, scaring him so much.
"Shit! Why didn't I think about that!" Huo Yi cursed as he immediately ran to the bar area where he saw the man sitting drunkenly on the floor with a broken bottle scattered around him, his hand dripping with blood, which almost gave Huo Yi a heart attack.
"What are you doing Liang Chen?!"
