Kyel was abit confused to see the floating screen in front of him. So this was what Talys had been seeing back then—a system.
What confused him most was the Emotions section. "What do you mean sealed?"
Kyel got up from the small bed, naked, and grabbed a knife from the table. Without hesitation, he cut into his hand. Blood gushed out, but he felt nothing. No pain.
"For real? Is this some kind of joke?" he thought.
He had lost his feelings; only indifference remained, the one emotion he hated most. But as long as it showed his emotions as sealed, it meant he had the potential to regain them.
He quickly wrapped his bleeding hand with a piece of cloth to stop the flow.
Then, he glanced at the Cultivation section. It was difficult to understand: Kyel had two cores—a demonic core and an Equilibrium Core, meaning he could cultivate two paths. Being born in the Abyss, he would naturally cultivate a demonic path. But how had he obtained an Equilibrium Core?
Was it due to the transmigration? Could it have come from being human before inhabiting the body of a demon born in the Abyss?
Kyel still didn't know. His mind buzzed with endless information, especially memories from this body's previous owner. This former demon had been arrogant and proud, born from the Abyss itself. Through these memories, Kyel learned that demons were split into two categories and that he belonged to a higher echelon.
Abyss and Hell
It was essential to understand the difference between Hell and the Abyss—two realms intertwined yet distinct. The Abyss existed within Hell, but the entities of Hell had no access to it. The Abyss remained closed off, untouched by the forces ruling Hell. It was a realm solely for those spawned or born within it. This distinction between being born of the Abyss and merely spawned there was significant.
The Abyss wasn't governed by the rigid structures that defined Hell. It was chaotic and mysterious, a place where only beings with a connection to the Abyss could survive. Those who belonged to the Abyss possessed a Bloodline that granted immense power but also bound them to the Abyss's chaotic and unpredictable forces.
Every Abyss denizen carried a True Name—an ancient, powerful identity with both advantages and disadvantages. The advantages could be unmatched power or the ability to manipulate reality itself. But the disadvantages were just as severe: to know a creature's True Name was to hold power over them. The very chaos that empowered them could be turned against them. Power and weakness were two sides of the same coin here, and survival depended on balancing them.
Hell, by contrast, operated like a vast, highly organized empire. Its hierarchy was rigid, with every demon, from the mightiest to the lowest, knowing their place within its infernal structure.
At the top of Hell's empire were the Void Sovereigns, godlike beings who ruled all of Hell's realms with absolute authority. Beneath them were the Archdemons, the aristocracy of Hell, governing territories like feudal lords.
Following the Archdemons, the Infernal Lords reigned over specific regions, embodying Hell's sins—wrath, greed, lust, and so on. They managed Hell's daily operations.
Then came the Dread Princes, Hell's military strategists and political advisors, ensuring that Hell's armies remained strong, ready to defend the empire or expand its reach.
The Hell Knights, elite warriors, acted as both military leaders and enforcers of Hell's laws. Pit Masters oversaw Hell's prisons and torture chambers, keeping damned souls in line.
Lower down were the Soul Reavers, Hell's special forces.
Imps worked as messengers, spies, and low-level bureaucrats, carrying out the orders of their superiors.
Lastly, the Hellspawn made up Hell's military and labor backbone, performing the grunt work that kept Hell's empire running.
This structure ensured order, control, and the steady flow of power. Advancing within Hell's ranks was a slow, arduous process, demanding centuries of scheming and warfare.
The Abyss, in stark contrast, lacked such structure. Power was taken, not given, and those who thrived here did so through sheer strength and cunning.
Hell's ranks :
1. Hellspawn
2. Imps
3. Flame Keepers
4. Soul Reavers
5. Pit Masters
6. Hell Knights
7. Dread Princes
8. Infernal Lords
9. Archdemons
10. Void Sovereigns
