Chapter 9 - Stupid Future Alpha

Rylan slowly fluttered his eyes open and groaned loudly. His head was still aching but he didn't feel as bad as he did the previous night.

He held his head as he sat up. He saw Wade, in a very uncomfortable position on the couch, sleeping.

He was sure to have a stiff neck once he woke up. Why was he even sleeping there anyway? Didn't he's have a home? He could have just left after dropping him off.

Before he could wake the alpha, his phone rang and he picked up directly.

"Is this Rylan?" The person on the other side asked and Rylan had to check who was calling. Seeing the familiar name, he frowned.

"Elliot? Why are you asking that? Of course it's me."

"Good," Elliot's sigh could be heard before, "RYLAN!"

If his shout the previous night was deafening, then this was just murder. Rylan literally passed out, literally. Elliot was left calling his name out without a response.

Sensing he had done something wrong, he quickly hang up and decided against using his phone for the rest of the day.

Wade had heard the whole thing since he had woken up a while before. He looked at the omega who was lying weakly on the bed after the shock. He once again cursed Elliot in his heart. He was really hoping to meet him soon.

He went to get warm water for Rylan's ear. He was an alpha and could hardly survive the shout, what about Rylan who was just a weak omega? Yap, he had confirmed that he was an omega.

This was what made him happy, Rylan was innocent and he could finally stop worrying.

He carried the water to the room but when he got there, Rylan was gone. The corner of his lips twitched, he just left like that? Why? Maybe something happened to him?

With this thought, he called Rylan who picked up and apologized for leaving before hanging up. It seemed he had really left.

Wade sighed and also left the hotel.

Rylan was walking home since he had left his car outside True bar and he didn't want Wade's help.

When Jasmine saw her niece she quickly ran to him with a worried face. "Are you okay?"

"I would have been better of I wasn't drugged by my own aunt," Rylan sighed as he walked passed her and inside the house.

Jasmine also sighed and chased after him, "You don't understand, if I didn't do that then that prince would have been sure who you are."

"Aunt, what if he is not even interested in who I am? What if he's really being honest?"

"I didn't do any harm to him, I was just being careful as you should. I never thought you are this naive."

"I'm not naive aunt, I just think you went too far. There's a chance that Apexin could cause death."

"It can't. If it could, don't you think the werewolves would already know about it?"

"Okay then aunt, let's not argue," Rylan said and tiredly sat on a couch. He didn't know why but the thought of Jasmine doubting Wade didn't sit well with him.

So far, Wade was really good to him. He was the exact definition of a great alpha.

The said great alpha had arrived home. He directly went to Julian's room and handed him his fixed phone.

"As promised, your phone is fixed," Wade proudly announced.

Julian took the phone and scanned it. Realizing his brother was still in his room, he spoke, "what?"

"Um... shouldn't you thank me?"

"Why should I? You broke it."

Wade sighed, it was not cheap. However, he knew he would never get any thanks hen e he decided to leave.

"Wait," Julian stopped him, "are you still investigating the lynx?"

"He's not a lynx, he's an omega."

"You got proof?"

"Well... He did drink little and get drunk."

Julian looked at his brother with a raised brow, "So him getting drunk, which he could have pretended to be, means he's an omega?"

"Oh... I didn't think like that."

"Nevermind that," Julian rolled his eyes, "What if he finds out what you're up to?"

"I'm just proving he's really an omega, there's no problem with that."

"What if he's a lynx?"

"He's not."

"But what if he is? He'll be really angry you know. He might kill you."

"But ...he doesn't seem harmful at all."

"Now that you say this, wouldn't it be worse? I mean, dad will kill him for no reason and you will be a hero who helped kill an innocent person."

"I..." Wade paused, "No, he's not a lynx."

"Wait," Julian moved his face closer to his brother's as he carefully looked at his eyes, "Do you love him?"

Wade pushed him away but didn't control his strength which ended up with Julian falling hard on his back. He winced as he thanked his luck for being a strong omega. If not, he would have been in much more pain.

"I'm so sorry," Wade panicked and helped his brother up, "You shouldn't have said that."

Julian wanted to shout as he always did but for some reason, he felt that he had to be a good brother at that moment.

"Wade, if you don't like him you wouldn't have pushed me which by the way I'll mark down," Julian spoke with gritted teeth. Actually, just now, he was just surprised. If not, he would have resisted the push and not fell down. Yes, that's it, that's why he fell.

"What do you mean? Stop speaking nonsense Julian! I don't love him!" Wade said and left the room.

Julian looked in his direction and narrowed his eyes. If he came back saying he had fallen in love, he wouldn't leave without a broken leg!

"I don't love him he says but immediately blushed when I casually said it. If not stupid what is our future alpha? I feel bad for this pack. We won't survive for long with him as our alpha. Hmph! I'm much better than him, I should be the alpha!" He mumbled angrily.
