Chapter 11 - This Weakling was Challenging Him

Rylan stood outside his company building holding his phone next to his ear. It was precisely the twentieth time he was calling Jaden. However, his call was ignored again. He didn't give up and called again.

Finally, his call went through.

"Rylan..." Jaden forced his voice to sound as normal as possible.

"Why are you ignoring my calls?" Jaden could practically see Rylan rolling his eyes.

"What do you mean? You called before this?"

"Twenty times."

"Wow, really? I didn't see."

Rylan sighed, "We need to talk."

"We can talk through the phone, just tell me what you have to tell me."

"You said you would stop."

Jaden crossed his legs and supported his head with his hand. A slight pout could be seen on his face, "You just listened toyour assistant's part of the story."

'Because you didn't pick up the phone,' was what Rylan thought but he still answered differently, "Fine, then how about you tell me your part of the story."

"Well, I had come to see you but you were not there, and then I saw him. He was so cute and his voice! It was so beautiful. I just felt the urge to do something, but before I could even think, he hit my balls! Can you believe it?!"

"Do you know how many times you've told me the same thing?" Rylan used his hand to comb back his hair.

"But this time it's true."

"You always say that too."

"I'm serious!"

"Jaden, the thing is, you can't come to my office and do that."

"Rylan..."

"I'm hanging up now," and he hang up. A frustrated hand ran through his black hair. At this rate, his best friend would never change. Only he knew how much he wished something would make him change.

"Hey," a voice spoke behind him making him freeze on instinct. That voice, it was very familiar.

No, no, how could it be possible? He slowly turned and sure enough, he saw Wade waving with a smile. Luckily, his eyes had the innocence they always carried since he had recognized the voice.

"How did you find me?" This was the only thing Rylan could ask.

"I just thought you came to the human world and followed your scent," Wade spoke proudly leaving the other person completely stunned. Was it that easy to find him? No, his scent was not that strong as far as he knew. Then how did this person smell him?

"That's not possible," Rylan was sure.

"You're right. I just researched about your friend and found out he works here so I thought you would be here."

His friend? Elliot? Right, they had met the other day and Wade must have heard him say Elliot's name.

"Anyway, why are you here? I thought you got bored," Rylan was sure that he was bored of him. He even cursed him severally for it. Maybe it was because this person forced himself into his life then left as he wished.

"I missed you," Wade was being honest. The past few days felt really empty and now that he saw this innocent soul, he felt better. He felt so good that he could feel his heart dance in happiness.

Rylan looked at him with a raised brow them scoffed, "Sure you did," he rolled his eyes.

"I want to take you somewhere, will you come with me?" Wade asked.

Rylan was stunned, he didn't think Wade would suddenly ask this. "Where?"

"To a date," answered Wade without hesitation. Before Rylan could say anything, he was pulled towards the other person's car.

.....

Elliot looked at the book in front of him deep in thought. For some reason, he felt like the book was not fiction but was actually real.

Why would a fantasy book have no characters but just explain about werewolves and weird genders?

However, it was impossible for it to be real. How could fantasy be real?

But, he could feel some changes in his body and these changes were described in the book.

It was written that when a human suddenly feels a lot of changes, it means he or she is turning. An omega would suddenly feel weak during the turning period while an alpha would feel aggressive.

Elliot wasn't sure what he felt but it was not weakness. He didn't think it was aggressive either, just hyper. He didn't want to hit random people.

"Hey, you!"

Elliot turned to the door. A familiar but annoying face greeted him and he kind of felt that aggressive energy. He held back though.

"Mr. Brooks, what a surprise."

"You told your boss?" Jaden asked gritting his teeth.

"You said it was okay and that he wouldn't leave you," Elliot answered calmly. It made Jaden wondered why this person wasn't scared of him.

He looked like he was weaker than him but his confidence was over the roof.

"Aren't you scared of me?"

"Why should I be? You're human, I'm human."

Jaden seemed to be angry. The thought of someone weaker than him not being scared annoyed him. His father had taught him that in such situations, he had to show the other person how much better he was.

Hence Jaden raised his fist ready to hit Elliot but the latter didn't even flinch when his fist stopped right next to his cheek. No matter what, Jaden had never used violence and never would. Not because he was good, he just didn't like it since it reminded him of his father.

Even Elliot didn't know where he got his sudden courage. However, that was not a problem. The problem was the fact that he could smell a strong scent from Jaden. The scent was getting stronger each minute.

He remembered reading about pheromones in the book but then slapped himself in his head. What was he thinking? There's no such thing as fantasy in real life.

"You know, if you continue living this way, you will regret it," Elliot decided to be a good person. Wasn't this person a friend of Rylan? Then he would try to advise him.

"Heh, do you think it's easy to defeat me? Do you know how strong I am?"

"No, I don't. How about we test your strength?" Elliot spoke with a slight smile. Of course, he would have never suggested this if he didn't have these changes. He had never worked out, and he was really lazy.

"How?"

"Arm wrestling."

Jaden laughed. This weakling was challenging him? Was he stupid? Seeing as Elliot was serious, he decided to do it. After all, there was no violence.

The two sat on the office chairs and held each others hand. Elliot told Jaden he could start and since the latter wanted to end it quick, he agreed. At first, he gave a little push which he was sure would defeat the other. When it didn't work, he was quite surprised and thought that Elliot was just stronger than he looked.

He tried pushing again, this time a bit harder. It didn't work. He added more and more strength until he was out of strength but he still couldn't do it. Elliot smirked and gave a little push sending Jaden's hand down.

Shock couldn't be used to describe Jaden's situation. He was beyond shocked. His mouth was agape and he just stared at the hand that was down with just one push. Even though he had been feeling weaker than usual these few days, it wasn't to the point of being defeated in such a manner. After all, he could still lift weights in the gym, just not as much as he used to.

"Now do you believe me?" Elliot asked with a triumphant smile. He didn't think he would be this strong. It made him proud.

"I...I...I.." Jade didn't know what to say I'm this situation. He knew there were people stronger than him but he never thought this person was one of them. "So what if you're stronger than me? I'm still stronger than a lot of people. I'm not changing if that's what you want," Jaden spoke quickly and left. He walked so fast that Elliot only understood his words when he was in his car.

"Well, I tried," Elliot shrugged and got back to work.
