Rayne POV
The cabin door burst open, wood splintering into the air. From the darkness outside, wolves emerged—huge, shadowy beasts with glowing red eyes. Their low growls sent a shiver down my spine, my heart thudding in terror.
Xavier didn't hesitate. He charged forward, his blade flashing in the dim light as he struck the first wolf with brutal efficiency.
"Stay back!" he barked, his voice sharp and commanding.
I stumbled to the far wall, frozen as I watched him fight. Xavier moved like a predator, every strike of his blade precise and lethal. But the wolves weren't backing down. More of them poured in, their claws scraping against the floor as they attacked.
"Behind you!" I screamed, spotting a wolf lunging toward Xavier's back.
He spun just in time, slashing through the beast's side and sending it crashing to the ground. Blood splattered across the floor, the metallic scent thick in the air.
