Rayne point of view ( POV).
The clash of blades and the growls of raw power filled the room, each sound sharper than the last. My heart pounded, and my breath hitched as Xavier's silver eyes glowed with a deadly determination. He wasn't just fighting—he was hunting.
"Stay back, Rayne!" Xavier barked, his voice cutting through the chaos on his own battle ground.
"Like hell I will!" I shouted, my fists clenched already.
Kael spun around, his golden gaze flicking between Xavier and me. For the first time, his confidence faltered. "You shouldn't have come, Alpha."
Xavier smirked, his blade slicing through a tendril of shadow that lunged at him. "Funny. That's the first thing I thought when I saw you."
"You don't understand," Kael said, his tone sharper. "This isn't what it looks like or what it appears like, it is something more stronger and intense than you think."
