Chapter 22 - The Last Chamber

Ryan and the others try to hold their ground against the hoard of soul Slayers approaching them.

Ryan had previously slayed an acceptable amount of them, but they seemed to mutiply in number.

Seeing as Ryan was the only one who could land an attack on them, he told Gabrielle and Eclair to head for the Last chamber, as they would be a hindrance to him.

Gabrielle took Eclair and headed for the Last Chamber, while Ryan tried to hold them off.

He knew that they wouldn't stop until their prey was dead before their eyes. Ryan had to finish them off here and now.

Before he could plan on how to stop them, Ryan noticed that they retreated from him. They started to form a figure, they merged together one after the other, turning into an abomination from the pit of hell.

Ryan had expected this to happen as he had already read about their forms and power levels.

Soul Slayers had the ability to merge with one another, changing their appearance and form, with unmatched power.

Ryan tried using his blade to cut the hideous figure, but that proved ineffective as the sword didn't even penetrate the skin.

Ryan was sent flying back by an impact from the monster. The monster charged at him with blinding speed, it was almost as if it had evolved.

Ryan quickly sidestepped the creature's attack as leap backwards. If he had not had Ren's skill he would have been in a worse position by now.

Ryan was now on see defense as he blocked they monsters attack with his sword.

'If only i could get through that hard armor' Ryan said inwardly as he had tried landing several attacks on the monster, but there wasn't a scratch on it.

Suddenly the creature leaped into the air as it let out dark substance, firing it at Ryan.

Ryan easily sidestepped it's attack as he moved gracefully side to side.

The creature continued to attack Ryan as it became more furious.

Ryan needed a way to counter the monster's attacks.

He then tried channeling mana to the Obsidian Blade, as he charged foward at the creature, slicing off it's arm.

The creature wailed in agony as a green substance oozed from the severed arm.

Ryan smilled from seeing his accomplishment. Turns out that mana added to the Obsidian Blade made a formidable weapon.

With this newfound knowledge, Ryan charged foward at the monster with blinding speed as he severed the second arm.

The creature cried in pain as it got more furious, charging forward at Ryan.

A slight grin appeared on Ryan's face as charged against the monster. In a swift manner, he decapitated the monster's head as the green substance flew up in the air.

Ryan looked at the lifeless corpse standing as he pushed it down to the floor, sheathing back his sword.

Ryan had to catch up with the others as he activated his skill moving forward towards the last chamber.

As Ryan headed towards the chamber, he noticed the creature's body as it pursued him. Ryan was shocked seeing the lifeless corpse run after him.

'What the fuck!!' Ryan said inwardly as he looked back at the creature's body.

'I think i should finish you off once and for all' Ryan said inwardly as he stopped, unsheathing his sword. He charged towards the monster as he split the lifeless body in a hundred pieces. Slashing it until it became like meat pudding.

Ryan cleaned his blade as he sheathed it back, looking at the mess on front of him with disgust.

He proceeded to catch up with Gabrielle and Eclair.

After some time, Ryan caught up with them as he noticed Eclair running on her own. He ask whether her fracture was healed.

Eclair explained that she possessed rapid healing abilities, which allowed her to heal herself faster than other people.

Ryan thought that it was a good ability, as she would be able to heal herself faster if she is ever hurt during a battle.

The Trio proceeded to the Last Chamber. During that time, Ryan noticed that Gabrielle was awfully quiet as she seemed to be ignoring him lately.

Ryan wasn't really concerned about her behavior. He had other challenges that awaited ahead of him.

Once they enter the last chamber, they would literally be walking to their deaths.

Ryan prepared himself for the battle that awaited him as he strategized a plan to defeat the Tyrant.

Soon later the trio got to the ending of the chamber as what they saw wasn't a door. It was like a set of stairs leading upwards.

Ryan knew what this stair meant, as they would have to return to the upper level to defeat the Tyrant.

Ryan was the first that ascended up the stairs as he signaled Gabrielle and Eclair that it was ok to come up.

They all went up the set of stairs as they got to they upper level. They were greated by the disgusting stench of blood and rotting corpses.

Gabrielle's eyes widened in shock as she witnessed mountains of dead bodies littered all over. Eclair collapsed to the ground as fear from seeing that many dead bodies had consumed her.

They both began to wonder if they would survive this last level.

Ryan on the other hand was totally unfazed by this sight as he had expected a whole lot more.

The Tyrant of this Dungeon was no ordinary monster. It wielded immense power as it was created out of negative mana itself.

Though the Tyrants power wasn't up to a fraction of the Demon Lord's. It still stood as a formidable foe.

Ryan had seemed to noticed an immense amount of negative mana, even from the entrance of the chamber.

Gabrielle's legs began to tremble as terror was visible in her eyes, making her recall her horrible past.

Ryan would had noticed this, would have just left them as he had already planned on how to defeat the tyrant alone. But he would greatly need them during his journey as they were valuable tools.

He formulated a plan with the terrified girls as he assured them that they were going to be ok.

For some reason they both had confidence in his words as they hardened their resolve to escape from this hell.

With a new formulated plan they both proceeded into the chamber as their figures slowly faded into the darkness.
