Manager Tan slowly stood up from the ground and looked around him coldly. All the people who were watching the show felt goosebumps all over their body, and they avoided staring back at his eyes in fear of angering him.
Manager Tan snorted and sat on the sofa in the hall, while gritting his teeth in anger. Although being thrown to the wall was not enough to injure a high-level divine cultivator like him, the humiliation he felt was enough to leave a sour taste in his mouth.
Inside room 245...
After Elena changed into a set of clothes that was of her size, she left the room clutching the small bag in her hand. When she opened the door of the room, she saw a man with white hair and silver-white eyes standing outside the room with a smirk on his face.
"So you are the woman Raven used yesterday night, huh?" Manager Tan walked towards Elena and lifted her chin with his hand. "Well, you surely are beautiful, no wonder Raven was ready to spend money for your body. Why don't you state your price for a night? If the price is right, I might as well consider taking your service for tonight. What do you say?"
Elena slapped Manager Tan's hand and stared at him in fear and disgust. "I am not the type of woman you think. Please stop blocking the way."
Manager Tan licked his lips in a perverted manner. "Well, that's a pity. Although you look malnourished, your face is enough to make my thoughts run wild. The price doesn't matter; I will pay you the amount you ask for."
Elena ignored him and started walking out of the room.
Manager Tan's expression also turned cold when he saw Elena disregarding his request. He stood in front of her and said in a cold tone, "You are allowed to leave my hotel whenever you want, but only after paying the expenses for booking the hotel room last night and for the treasured antiques of the hotel that Raven just broke."
Elena took a step back and said in a trembling voice, "It... it was Sir Raven who booked the hotel. Why don't you ask him to pay?"
Manager Tan said in a mocking tone, "He has already left the hotel. I can only demand the pay from you. Now don't waste my time and pay up." He then took a step closer to Elena and said in a hushed voice near her ear, "If you don't want to pay, there is another option. Serve me for tonight, and I will consider the matter over."
Elena stepped back once more and said in a cold tone, "I said it before, I am not the type of woman you think I am. Please have some shame and act like a gentleman."
Manager Tan smirked at her reply. He then looked at the small black bag that Elena was holding, and his eyes lit up. "A storage bag. I bet it came from Raven, right?"
He directly snatched the small bag from Elena's hand and looked at it carefully. On the front side of the bag, there was a picture of a black mask with two horns.
"Yeah, it is the unique storage bag of the Nyxborn family," Manager Tan said while waving his hand in a dismissing manner. "You can leave. I will consider this bag as the compensation for the money you owe me."
"But..." Elena tried to say something, but Manager Tan cut her off in the middle of the sentence. "Don't make me ask someone to throw you out of the hotel. Leave while I am in a good mood."
Elena lowered her head and left the hotel with teary eyes.
Outside the luxurious hotel Royal Maze...
Under the scorching sun, Elena stood empty-handed with a blank look on her face. She had not eaten anything for five days; the pain from her stomach had already become unbearable, and she could even feel her vision going black bit by bit.
Elena forced herself to remain conscious, as she was well aware of the fact that once she closed her eyes, there wouldn't be anyone to help her. She looked around and saw several stalls and restaurants selling food and other accessories.
Unable to tolerate the hunger anymore, she walked towards the street stall that was selling steamed buns and meat soup. There were not many people near the stall, and the owner seemed to be a middle-aged man with a stoic look on his face. There was also a kind-looking woman helping him out in the stall.
Elena hesitated upon reaching the stall. She bit her lips and asked in a small voice, "Excuse me, sir."
The owner of the shop, who was stirring the soup with a spoon, looked up upon hearing Elena's voice and said in an indifferent tone, "We only have steamed buns and wild boar meat soup on the menu. A serving will cost 80 silver coins."
Elena lowered her head and said in a low voice, "I don't have money."
The man frowned upon hearing this. "Leave then," he said impatiently and started to busy himself with his work.
Elena looked at the steamed buns placed inside the glass container in the stall longingly for one last time and turned to leave the place.
"Wait," just then the kind-looking woman in the stall called out to her, "Have a seat, young lady. I will give you something to eat."
The stoic-looking man lifted his head and angrily looked at his wife, but the woman ignored his furious look and smiled at Elena.
Elena, seeing a ray of hope of getting something to fill her stomach, sat down at an empty table in the stall.
Soon, a plate of three steamed buns and a bowl of wild boar soup was placed in front of her, along with a bottle of water.
