Raven paused for a moment upon hearing her reply. He then raised his sword and swung it at her neck.
He expected her to at least close her eyes, but contrary to his expectation, she kept staring into his eyes. Her beautiful eyes didn't even flutter.
*Swoosh…*
Just as the blade was about to touch her neck, it vanished from Raven's hand, as though it had never been there.
"Seriously... are you that eager to die?" Raven muttered with a defeated sigh. Actually, Raven had summoned the blade back into his storage ring just as it was about to touch Elena's neck.
He was putting up a show to scare her, but contrary to his expectations, this purple-eyed girl just smiled at him, making his heart heavy with guilt.
Raven slumped back on the bed, "What's your name?"
"Elena," she replied in a low voice.
Raven looked at her clothes, which lay on the floor torn to shreds, a remainder of his own action last night. "Damn, Raven, you are a beast," he thought.
He pressed a red button on the table near the bed; it was a communication device used to contact the hotel staff directly.
*Ring... ring…*
"Hotel Royal Maze at your service, sir. How can I help you?" a man's voice answered from the other end.
"I am Raven from room 245. Connect me to the reception desk and tell the lady who registered the room for me yesterday to answer the call," Raven said lazily.
Usually, such requests were not granted by the hotel staffs, but Raven's identity was enough for them to treat him like a god, so they complied to his request immediately.
"Please wait a minute, sir; I will redirect the call to the reception desk."
*Ring... ring...*
"Good morning, sir. I am Lilly from the reception desk. Please state your order, sir," a young girl's voice came from the other end.
"Hmm... So, Lilly, you saw the woman who came with me last night, right?" Raven asked.
"Yes, sir, I saw the madam with you."
"Good. I'd like to trouble you to make a set of casual clothes for her." After saying this, he hung up by pressing the red button once again.
At the reception desk...
Lilly looked at her colleague with a helpless expression, "How am I going to buy the clothes if the guest didn't even say the measurements?"
Her colleague, a woman about the same age as her, suggested, "Why don't we call back to room 245 and ask about the size?"
"Lilly... Lilly..." Just then, a man wearing a black suit came running to the reception desk as though his pants were on fire. He had silver white eyes and hair, his long white hair tied back in a ponytail.
"Manager Tan," Lilly and her colleague greeted him with a bow.
Manager Tan waved his hand, "Tell me what the guest in 245 asked for."
"Sir, he asked us to prepare a set of clothes for the lady who came with him, but he didn't mention the measurements. So we're in a dilemma about whether to call back to the room or not," Lilly explained.
Manager Tan rolled his eyes, "Call back? Do you have a death wish? Do you have any idea who that young man is? Just prepare several sets of clothes in different sizes based on your estimation and make it quick. You're permitted to take as many staff as needed, but make sure it's done as fast as possible."
Lilly broke into a cold sweat upon seeing the serious look on the manager's face. Hotel Royal Maze was part of a huge hotel network with branches all over Celestia, and its shareholders were highly influential figures who stood at the apex of the food chain.
Manager Tan himself was a high-level cultivator who didn't even show respect to royalty. But now, Lilly could feel the fear in his voice, even though he tried to mask it.
"Right away, sir. We won't disturb the guest any further." Lilly bowed and ran off to prepare the clothes Raven requested.
Manager Tan looked at the other dozen employees at the reception, who stood there dumbfounded.
"Idiots, are you deaf or what? Go and help Lilly, all of you," he roared at them as though he was going crazy.
Thus, a strange scene occurred where more than ten employees were running back and forth on the twelfth floor of the most prestigious hotel in Celestia—all because of a single request.
About 30 minutes later, there was a knock on room 245, and Raven opened the door.
Manager Tan stood outside with a professional smile on his face. Behind him was a group of ladies, each holding a set of dresses in different colors.
"Good morning, Sir Raven Nyxborn. It's been a while since we last met," Manager Tan greeted him with a smile.
Raven raised an eyebrow, "Tan Sky, you're still alive?"
Manager Tan's mouth twitched upon hearing this, but he forced himself to stay calm. With a humble smile, he said, "We weren't sure of the madam's dress size, so I had my colleagues prepare a few different sizes. You can choose whichever fits her best."
Raven looked at the girls standing behind Tan. All of them blushed upon seeing his well-built, muscular body and devilishly handsome face.
Ignoring their shy looks, Raven extended his palm outwards and muttered, "Portal."
Suddenly, three luminous black rings materialized on the back of his hand, each one larger than the last. Each ring was intricately adorned with ten smaller rings orbiting within, their colors twinkling like distant stars despite being black.
If you looked closely, you'd see that all three rings, including the ten smaller rings on each of them, moved in an anticlockwise direction in a strange pattern.
All of this happened in the blink of an eye. As Raven said the word "Portal," several small spatial rifts appeared above the clothes the staff were holding.
"Shift." As soon as Raven said this, the clothes vanished from the employees' hands with a puff, leaving them dumbfounded.
They looked at their now empty hands in astonishment.
Manager Tan smiled, "Hehe... As expected of the heir of the Nyxborn family. You truly are formidable, using a third-rank spell without any casting aid."
Raven didn't say anything. He looked coldly at the smiling Manager Tan and said to the ladies, "You can leave. I'd like to speak with your manager in private."
The ladies bowed and left.
"So, my dear friend, who's the lady inside? Is she your lover for a single night or your mistress?" Manager Tan asked casually once the ladies were gone.
