### Chapter 38: Snow Leopard
The level 9 wild monster area is located in the Evening Wind Woodland to the northwest of the village, where the raccoons roam freely.
**[Little Raccoon lv9]**
**HP:** 120
In the Evening Wind Woodland, small gray and white raccoons scamper about, playing and leaping joyfully. Their shiny, fluffy fur and long tails make them irresistibly cute!
However, Su Yu recalled the controversy that had erupted shortly after the game launched. Many players had taken to the official forum, complaining that the raccoons were too adorable to attack. Those who did face scorn from nearby female players, leading to demands for a replacement monster.
The game inspectors at Singer Civilization took note of these grievances. In a major update two months later, the raccoons were replaced with mummies wrapped in white cloth. The Evening Wind Woodland map was transformed into a massive tomb, complete with floating ghosts that scared players as they wandered through.
When Su Yu entered the game in his previous life, the level 9 monster area had already become a graveyard haunted by these specters. Today, he felt fortunate to encounter the "deleted" raccoons, making his visit worthwhile.
"Cute is a little cuter, but this earthly style suits me. A tomb mummy or something from the underworld would be more fitting," Su Yu thought, steeling himself as he transformed into a "raccoon slayer" and began leveling up in the area.
With no players around, he didn't have to worry about judgment.
Leveling was always tedious. Su Yu mechanically cast spells, used scrolls, and drank potions while perusing the official forum embedded within the game. He searched for any new antics or memes that the players had created. Recently, a meme called "Indonesian Telecom" had gained popularity. The sound of "ding" in the climax of the meme was strikingly similar to the system prompt sound in *Evolution*.
Just as Su Yu was engrossed in his browsing, a strange sound broke through his concentration. He closed the forum interface to listen carefully. It was a full-server announcement:
**[Full Server Announcement: Players Snow Leopard, Range is Justice, Caliber is Justice, Unbreakable Alliance, Steel Torrent March have successfully cleared the level 5, 5-player dungeon "Thunder Bluff." As a special reward, they receive a random rare-quality equipment.]**
Unlike Su Yu's announcements, which echoed three times in succession, this one concluded after a single alert.
After the announcement, Snow Leopard's advertisement followed. Su Yu heard a rich, resonant male voice:
"Hello everyone, I'm Snow Leopard, the president of the 'Relevant Department' guild. Join our guild after level 10, and each member will receive a monthly subsidy of 2,000 flower coins. There are no mandatory tasks, participation in activities, or forced surrender of equipment and currency. That's all I have to say."
Snow Leopard's ad was brief and impactful. After much discussion, he and his team settled on this version. While it sounded somewhat mundane, the appeal to players' financial interests ensured it would spread widely.
If they had chosen to promote lofty goals, like "Our ambition is to dominate the whole server," players might have responded with half-hearted enthusiasm, but mentioning "2,000 flower coins" caught many players' attention.
After Snow Leopard's ad aired, players began discussing with their companions:
"Someone cleared the 5-player dungeon again!"
"Relevant Department? Odd name."
"2,000 coins a month! Wouldn't it take just over a year to pay off that helmet?"
"It just so happens I don't have a guild. I'll try it when the time comes."
"Let's go together!"
Though most of these players could afford the 30,000-coin helmets, no one would turn down extra cash. Interest in the "Relevant Department" guild surged.
Su Yu, too, began to pay attention. "Relevant Department? Is Snow Leopard starting to make waves so early?"
Snow Leopard, whose real name was Zhong Feng, was a major-general rank and a rare professional Druid player. Guo Jia had sensed the unusual potential of the *Evolution* game before the great upheaval began and encouraged Snow Leopard to form a "Relevant Department" to investigate further.
Snow Leopard had a sharp intuition for game plots. With the aid of a skilled investigative team, he completed two main quests back-to-back, becoming the first player in China to reach level 50. He was also the first Blue Star human to discover that game strength could be materialized, though at that time, no legendary bloodlines existed in the world.
Needless to say, the subsequent events were monumental. After Snow Leopard manifested his strength, he drew significant attention from Guo Jia. His combination of power and Guo Jia's backing propelled him to the forefront of human players, establishing him as a key figure in the struggle against the Skrulls.
"Snow Leopard," Su Yu mused. "I'll reach out when I have the chance in the future."
Meanwhile, in the **[Thunder Bluff]** dungeon, Snow Leopard's team was also discussing his achievements.
At the top of Thunder Bluff, Range is Justice brandished a bow and arrow, exclaiming proudly, "Look! This is the reward for our first clear! A level 5 rare-quality bow and arrow! The attack power is a whopping 20 points!"
"Okay, old man," replied the Unbreakable Alliance, chuckling. "You've flown J-50 fighter jets. Aren't you a bit too excited over a broken bow?"
"What do you know?" Range retorted, holding the bow to his face. "This is rare-quality equipment! I bet the Nemesis doesn't even have rare equipment!"
Snow Leopard stood silently nearby, staring at the corpse of the boss, [Kane Bloodhoof]. He pondered aloud, "You said we cleared this dungeon in only 8 tries, but how did the Nemesis manage a single playthrough? 'Green Grassland' isn't as difficult as this."
His teammates fell silent, and Range's initial smile began to fade. Though he had acquired a rare-quality weapon, it was clear to him that he could not even solo the first or second bosses.
"How did Nemesis do it?"
"I need to ask Luoluo to get in touch with Nemesis again. We must figure out the content of the level 50 reward," Snow Leopard decided, opening the private chat interface.
