To be honest, most people wouldn't know what to think if a friend approached them with Obito's unusual request.
*How old is he, anyway?* Reiki thought, slightly baffled.
"Obito," he coughed lightly, "why do you think I can teach you about this?"
In truth, Reiki spent his days training, working at the hospital, and practicing even into the night. How did Obito come to think he was some sort of expert at winning people over?
"Reiki, come on, you're just holding out on me!" Obito replied, undeterred. "Look at Kurenai Yuhi. She doesn't even pay attention to Asuma anymore—she just wants to be around you. And Shizune? She's practically glued to your side! Come on, please? Teach me how you do it, and I'll even call you big brother!" Obito added, looking up at him with admiration.
Reiki finally understood. Obito was simply captivated by the attention Reiki seemed to receive. Smiling, he decided it was best to keep things simple for the impressionable Obito.
"Alright, Obito, let's not dance around the point—do you like Nohara Rin?"
Obito blushed, but nodded. "Yes."
"Then, Obito, you'll want to focus on two things. First, think about what makes you a good friend and person, and don't lose those qualities. Second, train hard and build your strength. I'll work with you every night if you're up for it."
"But..." Obito seemed uncertain. "I thought you'd give me tips on impressing her, not just... training?"
"Trust me," Reiki said, exuding confidence.
"I trust you!" Obito replied, his admiration renewed.
They began a rigorous training session together. Reiki was impressed—Obito's natural endurance was already at the level of a genin. After training, he reminded Obito, "Same time every night. Keep up your hard work."
---
Over the next few days, Reiki's routine settled back into normalcy: hospital work, training, and time with friends. One afternoon, Kurenai Yuhi and Rin arrived at the training grounds.
"Kurenai! You're here too!" Rin greeted her with a smile, though she seemed slightly guarded.
"Kurenai, I heard Obito's been training with Reiki recently, so I wanted to check it out," Rin explained, glancing over at Reiki, who was sparring with Obito. "Reiki-kun, you're really something special!" She turned to Kurenai with a sly grin. "Better watch out."
Rin's lighthearted comment made Kurenai's face flush a little. Meanwhile, Obito was brimming with excitement as he finished his sparring round and received a towel from Rin.
"Thanks, Rin," he said, his face lighting up. "I'm going to become Hokage one day and protect the village with all I have!"
"You better," she replied, a smile brightening her face. "I'll keep an eye on you to make sure you work hard."
Obito blushed, though he remembered Reiki's advice to stay calm. "Rin, I promise I won't let you down," he replied earnestly.
Reiki looked on with a satisfied smile as Obito left with Rin, both of them deep in conversation.
"Alright, let's head back too," Reiki suggested to Kurenai and Shizune. "Otherwise, Lady Tsunade might get impatient waiting for dinner."
"Reiki-kun," Kurenai chimed in happily, "I've been practicing cooking, so I'm sure I can help this time!"
Shizune didn't seem too pleased about it, but she nodded and joined them. The three started down the path toward Tsunade's house together.
---
On their way back, a sudden rustling in the bushes caught Reiki's attention. Before he could react, masked figures appeared, blocking their path.
"That's him, Tsunade's disciple," the leader murmured. "Take him!"
Reiki instantly shoved Kurenai and Shizune back. "Get back!" he warned. Summoning the Evil Ghost and Murasame, he prepared for the fight.
With one powerful blow, Reiki managed to push back the lead ninja. But the ninja's eyes widened in shock—this kid was only seven years old, yet he could match a chunin's strength. *We've underestimated him,* the ninja thought.
Reiki kept his focus. "Losing focus mid-battle can be deadly," he muttered, as he swung his blade, barely missing a lethal hit but wounding his opponent's arm.
Suddenly, Asuma appeared. "Reiki!" he called, releasing the **Fire Style: Great Fireball Technique** toward the remaining attackers. The massive fireball engulfed two of the masked figures, forcing them to retreat.
Reiki looked up as the flames died down, nodding gratefully at Asuma. He felt a swell of relief but knew that this was just the beginning of challenges to come.
