After the ritual, the girl is thrown back into her cell. Somewhere along the way, she had passed out from the lingering pain, but that was for the best. One can't feel pain if one isn't conscious after all.
She had slept for an entire day. She would have slept for longer if she wasn't woken up by the knights who came to get her to test out what other powers she may have.
A few more days had gone by of testing. She had been burned - much more severely than the first time - to see if she had other fire related abilities, she had been suffocated, hanged, dropped into a pit, all of which she had already experienced. That did not matter though, they just needed to see if she had developed any other powers that may branch off of the ones they had confirmed.
Sadly for her, the results always came back positive.
The next extraction day had come along rather quickly this time. It seemed that they were running out of children with powers. The king of this country is so certain that extracting a child's powers is the way to keep his country safe from the ever growing number of monsters, so the fact that they're running out of powers to steal must be making him nervous. How pitiful.
He must not be too scared yet though. They have the girl after all! The girl is the child of the guardian of Everosa! The hero who saved the world!
They took her because they thought she would end up just like her mother, who fought off the monsters and nearly exterminated them all, and they turned out to be right! How lucky!
They did want to extract her mothers powers at first as well, but when she began to fight off the monsters, there was nothing they could do. So when they found out she had a daughter, and that she had somehow lost all her powers, they thought it was all transferred to the little girl.
Extraction day was a great day for the king. But testing days were even better. It showed more and more proof that the girl was the daughter of the guardian, of the hero.
