Before she could actually die from drowning, her powers activated and the knights and priests got the result they wanted.
They tossed her back into her cell and let her be.
Although it was unideal, she managed to get her first taste of water in three days because of that, so the girl was very grateful. Although, she was now freezing cold because of the thin, scratchy, straw clothes she was forced to wear, and now with her hair having gotten soaking wet. The girl risks getting a cold, but the knights and priests won't do anything for her. If anything, it will be considered another form of testing what powers she may have. So it's actually preferable if she gets sick! A fever would be even better! As long as she doesn't die, who cares?
The next day she was left alone. They did not need to test her today to see what powers she has. They were busy checking the powers of the other children held captive here today.
How terribly unlucky for her, though. Unfortunately, just as she suspected, she had caught a cold.
That's not the unlucky part though.
With her incessant coughing, she ended up annoying the knights standing on guard, and so they decided to give her some extra "testing."
They came into her cell and punched, kicked, and used her like a training dummy. One would hold her up by her hair, while the other would vent out all their pent up stress and anger. Then they would trade places and repeat the process until the girl would pass out. It stops becoming fun when they no longer fight back, or scream in pain, or show any reaction at all, after all.
