Chapter 3 - Chapter 3 First time

____"Wintus," Phantom uttered, casting a wind spell.

Suddenly, he felt something strange. Even with his eyes closed, there was only darkness in Phantom's vision. But it was as if the boy saw a faint wind, glowing a faint green color around him. Shocked, Phantom quickly opened his eyes. Around the boy, there was a faint wind, blowing gently. A faint green light was glowing in the dark, uninhabited storage room. The cool wind was like a mother hugging him, congratulating the boy on his success.

____' Unbelievable !!' Phantom 's thoughts immediately popped into his head.

____" Yes !! " Joy surged from every particle in his body. The right hand, the size of a 4 years old boy's tennis ball, was raised in front of him to confirm Phantom's small victory. Even when Phantom had successfully tested the speed of a fighter jet and surpassed 10G for the first time, he had not felt this happy. In his previous life, Phantom could not even remember the last time he had been this happy.

____Alas... Happiness is fleeting. As soon as Phantom 's concentration eased, his mental power relaxed, the gentle wind magic quickly disappeared, leaving only traces of the enormous dust inside this stuffy and humid storage room that still floated around the room, confirming that there had once been a wind of hope blowing through this room.

____ But Phantom was no longer worried. The boy had already mastered some techniques in casting spells. Phantom could feel that using magic was like piloting a fighter jet. Once you did it, you were done. There was no way you could forget it again.

....

____"Ventum Tejitas," Phantom whispered, casting a soft spell.

____This whirlwind magic helped his body to be as light as a feather. Although the effect of this magic did not help him much, it allowed Phantom to walk around the great church, as silent as a ghost.

____In this world, there is no television or electricity, so most people go to bed at 6 pm and wake up around 6-7 am. But when Phantom woke up, it was only 10 pm. Everything was still pitch black, and he could not see anything, not even his fingertips.

____ Phantom has a natural ability to control his sleep and wake time. For top spies, an alarm clock is completely unnecessary.

____ Phantom somersaulted off the second-floor bunk with a swift motion, the boy's feet landing on the church floor without a sound or impact, like a cat. This was one of the few things magic could do.

____Phantom slowly walked out of the bedroom from the back of the room without a sound. As he passed by the bunk beds where hundreds of orphans were sleeping, they were snoring loudly, clearly indicating that no one was awake in the church at this time. That was because this was the time when everyone was sleeping deeply.

____ The boy slowly opened the door and walked out of the bedroom quietly. It didn't take long for the boy to reach his destination, a small library with about 100 old books stored there. It was impossible to underestimate how worthless these few rotten ancient books were. If one looked around the outside world, there weren't many places that had more books stored there. Moreover, at least the hundreds of books in this library were enough to satisfy the needs and wants that Phantom needed to know the basic information about this world.

____Phantom pulls out a triangular key to unlock the library door. This key is the key to the library that Bishop keeps . The library is an important place where no one is allowed to enter without permission.

____Bishop often hung the library key with a dozen other keys, which she hung on the wall by the window in Bishop 's private quarters .

____For others, stealing things from the Bishop's room would be difficult, but for Phantom , getting the key was easy, especially after he successfully cast the spell. There was no longer anything that could stop his thirst for knowledge.

____The boy quickly and skillfully unlocked the door. Phantom's every move was natural and smooth. However, if someone else were to look at the boy at this moment, they would be shocked. At this moment, there was almost no light outside the library. Although there were some torches hanging, the light only reached no more than 10 meters.

____The reason for this is that the world is constantly covered with thick, dark clouds. These thick clouds block out light from reaching the ground at night, and also make the nights incredibly long. From 4 pm to 10 am, it is a constant dark night. In other words, the world only has 6 hours of daylight and 18 hours of night. Besides, except for the hours of noon to 2 pm when the sunlight is at its best, the light is not very bright at other times.

____The darkness that had been falling on this world all the time had severely affected the world. First of all, since Phantom was born, he had hardly ever seen a single rain shower. He had only seen pure white snow and hailstorms all the time. As a result, there was almost no summer in this world of darkness and no fertile land.

____Although the kingdoms were not lacking in water resources, the lack of sunlight made it difficult for agriculture and livestock to grow, making it difficult for human communities and societies to develop. Although there was magic in this world, less than ten percent of the population could use it, and most of those people could barely make full use of their magic.

____As for the question of why the world is always covered in thick black fog, Phantom once asked the most knowledgeable bishop in St. Maria's Church, but the bishop could not solve Phantom's doubts. This left Phantom with only his own guesses about the reasons .

____The reasons could be due to many factors, such as the world is a future world that has experienced a major war, the superpowers bring their ultimate weapons, such as nuclear weapons or weather control weapons to attack each other, causing the weather and geography of the world to change, or it could be due to natural disasters, the world might have been hit by a large meteorite, a large volcanic eruption around the world, a solar storm burning the world, a great tsunami, a severe earthquake, a global storm, the biggest epidemic, or aliens invading and destroying the world, causing the world's climate to be in such a dire state. Or it could be due to a combination of many factors. Everything is possible, because no one knows the real reason, so Phantom can only guess.

____ Phantom picked up several leather-covered books and walked to sit on the reading table in the middle of the library. The boy took out a small candle and placed it on the wooden table.

____ "Flammus . " The soft voice ended. The wind rubbed violently, creating sparks. The flame from the candle wick emitted a faint light. It drove the darkness around the boy back by about half a meter, but its weak light could not drive away the bone-piercing coldness in the slightest. All the time, white mist kept belching from Phantom's mouth and nose when the boy breathed. Phantom could not measure the temperature at the moment, but he was sure that it must be colder than -10 degrees Celsius. Fortunately, Phantom was used to it.

____ Phantom 's element , or at least Phantom feels he's most comfortable using Wind magic.

____Phantom slowly opened the thin, almost frayed pages. In a book on elemental magic theory, the information in the book stated that there were only four elements in this world: earth , water, wind, and fire. However, living beings usually had only one element. As for the other elements, such as light, darkness, lightning, ice, wood, and metal, those elements were made up of the basics of the four. It was true that humans could train to use many elements of magic, but no matter what, people usually had one element that they could use best, and other elements and magic would be used less well.
