Harry give Tom a glance as they get their gear and weapons togeather with the rest of the three man team "So who designed this scenario? Tuvok of Hiver?" and Tom frown
"Hiver I think. Will be interesting to see what he came up with. Tuvok have been running modified starfleet security scenarios, but..."
Snorting Harry nod "Yeah, I expect something else from Hiver. If nothing else he is creative..."
A few minutes later they step through into the holodeck proper, revealing a small room with a screen on the wall
*Welcome to the Extraterrestrial Combat Division. Your mission is to take back Voyager from extremely hostile forces. The alien forces are holding both engineering and the bridge. Good Luck.*
Tom frown slightly "Well, that don't seem very creative. I could have sworn we did something like this a week ago. Let's get this over with."
'Five minutes later'
"Oh fuck! OH FUCK KILLITKILLIT!!!"
I try not to smile to wildly as I listen to the screaming from the screen as I direct more aliens towards their positions. A rather ingenious invention of mine make it more realistic than normal a normal holodeck.
It involve echoes and two holodecks. When they step onto one they create a copy of them that they control on a second holodeck. That mean that when they die I can create realistic effects for the ones that remain and the 'dead' go invisible to them and can walk around and observe the rest of the exercise.
Harry was the first to die, the plasma bolt from the sectoid hit him in the chest, sending head and arms flying in different directions as his upper torso went splat. Even though they know how the simulation work, the starfleet crew where quite stunned...they are used to clean effects of energy weapons.
Well, not in my sims.
Sadly it look like ten minutes in only one crewman is still alive. When things went south he made a run for it...oh he is running towards the Chrysalids location...
Look's like they will be redoing this for another few tries until they start to adapt to it...but then I will likely have the Space Hulk simulation finished. I'm having trouble getting the Orks quite right.
Next to me Janeway frown at the screen "This just seem a bit to...extreme. I'm not sure that..." and I interupt her
"I don't know about you Captain, but I rather see that they learn to keep their heads down when under fire in a safe environment than when they can actually die." and she sigh
"I know, you have explained it before. I still don't like it though..." and I slowly shake my head
"Me to Captain, Me to. But if it keep people alive in the long run..."
She nod and turn to walk out "The ship plating is almost complete, we will be underway in a couple of days."
I nod and give her a small smile while calling out "Just dont forget, You have a training session tomorrow."
From her grimace, I think she haven't forgotten.
