Chapter 16 - Tis Ain't The Life

Things are looking good right now, I'd won against C ranked Swordsman and the other C rank was An Archer so it shouldn't be a problem to take him down with the dagger.

He seemed Pretty weak physically so, I just have to use a good dagger that I have in hand and I can defeat him.

Even my strength has increased by leaps and bounds after physical training.

So, I can just punch him in the Gut and I win.

It was a matter of Contact.

And the Current C rankers seem weaker than me in terms of rank and strength.

So, I should make good use of this.

"Begin"

I stood on the podium waiting for the countdown to reach 0 so i can attack him.

My plan was simple, He was an easy D rank target.

So i shouldn't have a problem Over powering him.

I was only going to use my agility and Strength with my daggers and 2 of my teleportation skills.

And so i pulled the trigger the moment it reached 0, as expected he dodged the Attack.

He smirked as he looked at me and as he was charging at me, the bullet behind him exploded mid air.

and the moment it did i used the teleportation skill and took a dagger out and coated it with Mana.

As i used Acceleration skill.

These 2 skills cost me 1000 points which was alot but it was well worth the Investment.

As the moment i coated my Dagger with mana i swong the dagger at his face and as the attack was about to land on him.

A barrier activated before him and stopped the dagger from taking his life.

And, that way. I'd won the match...

With that i'd won 3 out of 4 Matches.

But, the real problems would start now.

The guy i just fought was St No 3475.

And the C ranker was level 2492. My level was currently 2492 and i was no longer ranked at level 4000.

And if i beat my next opponent who is ranked 2126 I'd be in the better half of Class C.

Meaning I'd get around 35 Gold Coins.

And i'd get a good 20% Scholarship since I'd probably be a part of Class 6C.

So here's how the classes go.

There are around 5 classes of 300 students for D class.

9 classes of 110 Students for class C.

5 Classes of 100 Students for class B.

12 Classes of 50 students for Class A.

10 Classes of 40 students for Class AS.

and I Class of 10 Students for Class S.

As you can expect, each class is alotted to the person based on their level.

After every exam if someone beats an opponent higher in rank than himself/herself he/she will go through a re-evaluation process where his rank will be re-evaluated and will be sent to whichever class he/she deserves to go to.

My main Objective was to beat this guy who I'm about to fight currently since, I'll get a huge boost in ranking.

That will also help the 3 women trust me more.

That was the most important part of the whole first exam because it's important they trust me...

Because they'll be in real trouble if they don't trust me.

I had to make them trust me.

And that's why, It was important i win this match even tho it would be really hard to take care of a C ranked Archer.

Especially since he's the same type as me. A long range Fighter.

Well too bad for him, i had a better idea in mind.

I was walking towaeds the podium

The refree told us to come to the podium as the match ended in a flash.

And the next opponent came in as he looked at me with caution.

With the amount of mana i could feel from hin, i knew that i was stronger than him.

But, he was more experienced than me. He had sharp eyes, that seemed like it were looking right through me.

But, sadly for him... He doesn't know that i have a Trick up my sleeve.

We both stood face to face and he was a bit vary of my attack.

And soon enough the refree Signaled the start of the Battle.

"Begin."

He shouted as he cut the air with his palm, signaling the beginning of my most important match.

Because after this, i'd forfeit for the remaining matches and leave it up to luck if the other rankers win or lose.

I think i did well, until now.

You can forfeit from a match if you don't want to participate.

That's pretty much how lower ranked people avoid fighting those of higher rank than them.

I intended to forfeit the remaining 2 matches because i had no intention of fighting the remaining 2 Strong people.

Plus, If it's about learning. I learnt a lot form the No 1 ranked person who beat the shit outta me in the first match.

I have no interest in getting beat up until i forfeit again.

as i was thinking all that, the archer just stood there. Waiting for me to attack.

Hmm, it appears that he doesn't intend to attack first.

Well whatever, I wanna get this over with Asap.

and so i charget at him using the Acceleration skill on my legs.

I loaded a bullet and shot it at him, but the moment i shot the bullet, It exploded...

Right on my face and before i realised it...

I'd fallen backwords and took considerable damage.

What?

Shit, the trap below me...

He knew i'd charge at him didn't he?

It was a mana overload Trap set below me.

If a caster casts mana that is lower than the Trap below, It'll explode.

And He was intelligent enough to notice my movements and pinpoint where i was going to attack.

Smoke was covering my vision and i wasn't able to see anything.

I'd fallen into a rat trap...

I didn't really know where he was or how he was gonna attack me but i knew that he was going to attack me from somewhere.

*Woosh*

an arrow flew right towards my face and i barely managed to dodge it.

It was a real clos-

*Woosh* *woosh* *woosh*

3 arrows came at 3 different directions at the same time and my head was it's target.

If i stayed there i'd get hit in the head by an arrow at my head's height.

If i bent down The arrow would go right through my head.

But, if i let it hit, It'll damage my mana circuit because that was a target of the attack.

And the moment it got even close to either my face or Circuit on my leg. It'll end in the barrier activating and me being defeated.

There was another Arrow that was woobling at insane speed.

The trajectory is almost Unpredictable, So it was hard to discern which way it was comming towards.

Another one of his tricks perhaps?

Anyway, There was only one option i had...

it was to use the "Galaxy stop"...

It was a Skill i got for a 1000 Points.

And it was quite handy since it let me slow down time for 1 Second.

This 1 second will feel like 1 minute for me, Well it actually is.

Time moves so slowly right now that 1 second will pass like it's a minute.

That's why I'm able to talk..

Let me count it for you if you don't believe it.

30, 29,28,27...

I'd already taken care of the arrows and used Acceleration on my legs to speed up my legs and used my agility skill.

As i charged at the person that seemed like my enemy.

I put my hand on the magic pouch on my right waist and took out the weapon i was really looking forword to use.

I wonder if it'll work.

and so, after realising the enemy was in sight i gripped the weapon and swung at him

The weapom coated with mana.

It was a magic sword, a realm i could never use.

but, now with the help of the "skill" from the system and "awakening" in rank to C class.

I could take out a C ranker who's physical ability was lower than E rank.

And as i swung my Magic sword which was breathing Crimson Flames thanks to my Fire Magic Skill.

The coated mana Blade swung at the enemy at fulls peed as i used Acceleration on my arms and swung it at full speed.

Just as it reached the neck, A barrier Appeared and that signalled the end of the my match.

I'd successfully defeated the 2126'th ranked individual and now i was currently promoted to rank 2126.

Meaning, i have a full 20% Scholarship, a whopping 35 Gold coins For expenses and a beautiful Yet average dormitory.

Tis the life, Baby!

But, now that i was past the 1800 mark, The real Challenge starts now.

Because, these 2000 Lower ranked individuals are Children compared to the remaining 2000 Students.

We'll start seeing prodigies, Master swordsman, Cold blooded Assassins, Magicians that can destroy Mountains With just the snap of their fingers and many more.

I take it back, This definately ain't the life...

Not one bit.
