It's been a few days after being beaten by Hikari. The power that she possesses and expresses is mind-blowing, though it was to calm me down.
I can't help but keep thinking about the conversation that the CEO and I had.
I'm currently walking down the streets of Tokyo where the crowds are bustling to their jobs. The girls are currently practicing and rehearsing for the concert.
Well, it should just be Fujiwara by herself, but the Toma and Hikari insisted they rehearse together.
So now I'm just walking alone, deep in thought, thinking about that dream with the girl.
Questions like:
"Who is she? Why did she seem so familiar? What relationship does she have with me?"
Arose...
Well I mean. After kissing her in the dream and doing all that stuff...
Actually nevermind...
But that showed me something.
A stone. A rock. Or an egg?
Just before I woke up from the dream, the rock seemed to be cracking like an egg. Something was hatching.
Was a revelation?
Was it the future? Or a future?
Whatever it was, it was destructive as far as I could tell.
The explosion that happened when it hatched, felt so real.
But enough about the dream.
Fujiwara's concert is in a week. According to the CEO, the Saviours will make their move and "take" her. Though, why they need her is what I'm wondering.
The CEO expects me to prepare for the fight against the Saviours. Heh. I can barely kill a Kaiju. What makes him think that?
But no. I can't be thinking like that. Getting stronger now is what I need to do.
I suddenly find myself in front of the blockade that me and Fujiwara stopped at that day.
The sign that was plastered onto it:
BEWARE! STAY OUT! CURRENTLY REBUILDING!
It was blocking the way to Shibuya, a city that the Saviours destroyed just to make their presence known. And it was also the place where Fujiwara's friend died alongside numerous people.
"I wonder..."
My curiousity of what was behind the blockade overcame me.
And so, I jumped over the blockades to see the aftermath of the destruction.
And it was...
"What the f-"
My eyes widened as I saw the devastation that occured here. There were ruins everywhere I looked. In the distance was a crater that seemed to cover fifty percent of the area caught in the destruction.
A fight must've taken place at the center of that crater.
I maneuvered around the debris and ruins that lead to the crater.
It was big. And when I mean big, I meant it. If you were to compare the size of the underground training room to the crater I stood in, the crater massively dwarfs it ten times.
To think this was all Shibuya.
Now it's all ruins and debris and a crater.
Crumble
"Hm?"
I turn to the direction where the sound of debris knocked over originated from.
"Hello?!"
Was I alone here? There shouldn't be anyone here.
Well, no one except me of course.
I call out once again, but get no response to avail.
"Must've been my mind or something."
Right?
Whew...
Man. It's gotten cold all of a sudden.
CRACKLE!
What the?
I look up to see a lightning bolt shooting straight down at me and without a second thought, I barely manage to dodge it.
"Huff, huff. What the?"
I turned to the spot where the lightning bolt struck (which was where I was standing). The earth where it struck, burnt as flames arose.
"A lightning bolt?"
What were the odds of a lightning bolt in the middle of the day, was to rain down on you?
Wait a minute. I just realized that we were in the middle of summer. It shouldn't be cold.
Unless...
CRUMBLE!
An mist shot towards me from the direction I faced, freezing my body in an instant.
Argh. I can't move.
First, it was lightning. Now it's ice?
"Hahahahahahaha!"
A laugh?
After the mist cleared, a person in a blue robe appeared in front of me.
I recognize that blue robe.
The Saviours.
Although the robe's design was different. It wasn't like what I saw on the TV or from that guy who tried to recruit me.
"My leader ordered me to keep an eye on you, however I decided to have some fun instead."
I muster up the words to ask him.
"Who are you?"
"Who am I? Hah. You already know who I am. I'm a Saviour."
I thought back to what the CEO said about the Saviours.
"One can open spatial rifts that connect two locations together no matter how far of the distance the two are. Another is able to fully manipulate the elements of nature itself by manipulating the Aura all around us. They can also produce these elements from Aura by itself. Then there's the third one. Their leader. It's that robed guy we saw in the broadcast."
This guy that trapped me in ice. He must be that elemental guy!
I spoke up, remembering the destruction they caused.
"Why? Why destroy Shibuya! So many people, so many lives were lost!"
"Pfttt. Hahahahahahahahababahah!"
The Saviour laughed hysterically in response to my question and then answered.
"Why! Because we can! We didn't have to destroy it! But we just did! Haha!"
This guy is crazy!
He continued.
"And what do you know? You weren't here when we summoned that rock!"
Rock?
"Rock?"
That confirms it. The Saviours really are the ones who did it. But...
Rock. It couldn't be the one I saw in my dream right?
As I struggle to break through the ice, the Saviour formed an icicle spear from nothing.
"Hah. Struggle all you want Asol Ansaldo."
He knows my name?
"You know my name?"
"Of course. Everyone does. You're the new manager for Fujiwara Kane. We watch the news too. But unfortunately..."
He felt the tip of his spear.
"They won't know what happened to you after you die."
After I die?
I let out a cry in the attempt to break free from the ice.
"ARRRRRRRGH!"
I could feel my Aura fluctuating throughout my body. And eventually...
I break free.
CRACK!
"What the-"
The Saviour said in a surprised tone.
I moved forward, gathering my Aura into my fist and swung at his face.
POOM!
His ice blocked and absorbed the shock of my punch, expanding like a snowflake.
"Ha Ha! You've got spunk!"
The ice then retracted and shot out, hitting my in the chest, sending me a ways back landing on my feet.
The training with Toma paid off. She tested my durability and endurance most of the time, mainly to ensure my survival against such attacks.
However, the power and speed that she expressed was still greater than mines. But it was excellent practice.
I smiled at the thought of it. Even with my one arm, it was still impressive.
The Saviour formed icicle spears in the sky and launched them towards me but thanks to the training of Toma I was able to maneuver around them and break.
As I dashed towards the Saviour, my Aura gathered into my fist as I readied swing at him.
I could hear him speak in disbelief.
"What?! Argh!"
As I swung at him again, only for a portal of some sorts redirecting the punch back at me, aiming for my stomach.
POOM!
"Gurgh!"
The force behind the attack, sent me flying a distance away towards the numerous debris and ruins.
A portal opened next to the Saviour, with a figure exiting it. The Saviour with elemental powers greeted them.
"Patrick. You didn't need to do that. I was going to block it with my ice!"
The Saviour named, Patrick, responded.
"Yes. Ice that he was able to break through."
I was barely conscious in the debris, yet I could hear their conversation. Although. Patrick? I swear I had heard that name before. And his voice? It also familiar.
"Tch. I can just make my Ice colder and harder!"
"Enough! Our leader wants to see you. He caught wind of your activities today. He explicitly ordered you not to mess with the boy."
"Argh! Fine! What about the boy?!"
"Leave him. It's time yet. You'll get your due diligence."
The two pass through a portal that the Saviour named, Patrick, summoned and disappeared.
Urgh...
Man...
That guy, Patrick. He's the one that can open spatial rifts. His name. I swear...
"Urgh..."
Due to the pain, I pass out.
...
...
...
(Later)
As I open my eyes, I can see a tall figure standing by the bed. And I recognize him.
"CEO..."
"That's me."
His stern voice. Almost anyone could recognize it.
I could feel the pain from my stomach. I punch pretty darn hard. Hah.
"Where am I?"
"The same room you woke up in, the day you arrived. Man, it's like this is becoming a permanent home for you."
He chuckled to himself and then continued.
"The others don't know that your here. Nor do they know about your little skirmish with The Saviours."
Ah. He knows.
"How'd you find out?"
"How do you think you got here?"
Right...
He continued.
"But still. To go toe to toe with one of their top members is no easy feat. Especially with just a single arm. Heh. I'm impressed"
The CEO chuckled lightly.
"But still. Why did you go past the barricades?"
Right. The barricades.
"I was curious. I wanted to see what the Saviours did. It reminded me of what happened to my world. It's destruction."
"Right."
Silence filled the room. The tension between us could be felt by the both of us.
"Look Asol. I know you're still pissed at me. But there's something you should know. The real reason I keep information from Fujiwara."
What?
"Real reason? Scoff. Fine. Go ahead."
I'm not surprised. He kept this much information from a lot of people.
"If you recall, I took in Fujiwara as an emotionless child. However that wasn't entirely true. She has a scar in her mind. Her brain. Her memories. She doesn't remember where she came from."
"Okay. Nothing new. But what role do the Saviours have?"
The CEO grunted.
"A long time ago before I took Fujiwara in, I received a vision of her as a child. Kaijus invaded her world, destroying it and she was the only survivor who made it through the gate. You wanna know what that world was called?"
Why was I being told this?
"What was it called?"
The CEO fixed his glasses.
"Dystopia."
What?
Did I hear that correctly?
"Dystopia? That- that doesn't make sense. That's impossible! There's no way! I thought-"
"You were the only survivor? And that the timeline doesn't fit?"
"Yea..."
"Thats why I need to tell you something else."
"What do you need to tell me?"
"Dystopia was destroyed twelve years ago."
"Twelve years ago?"
If you could see the disbelief on my face, it would've spoken thousands of words.
"If twelve years passed, then what happened to me? Where the hell was I?"
The CEO sighed.
"My only guess was that you were stuck in the gate, floating in the space that connects all of our worlds in this plane of existence. What you were doing? I have no clue."
I didn't have a Universal Pass...
I was eighteen when my world was destroyed. Fujiwara according to the timeframe, would've been six or seven at the time.
"I... I..."
"Take your time Asol. Breathe."
I started to hyperventilate.
"But wait..."
"Hm?"
"How are the Saviours connected to what happened to Dystopia."
"Because they were the ones who destroyed it. They summoned the Kaijus that ravaged your world. I believe you had no idea at the time. But. The Saviours are spread throughout our infinite worlds."
I stared in disbelief.
The Saviours...
They are the reason that I...
Lost...
Everything?
"I'm sorry Asol. I wanted to tell you when you first turned up here. But. I just couldn't let Fujiwara find out. The things that she can do. It's extraordinary. But she's dangerous as well."
I have no words.
He continued.
"I've taught her everything. Her emotional state, her calm demeanor was the result of me taking her under my wing. But I never taught her how to deal with something inside her. Her emptiness. Kite, her friend, filled it. But after he died, she's become empty. So please. Asol."
I looked up at him.
"Please do everything in your power to protect her. Make sure that she doesn't get taken by the Saviours."
After thinking to myself for a moment. I've spoke with resolve.
"I will."
