Atlas' POV
"You did what?!" Kaleb's voice sliced through the air, sharp enough to make my ears ring. I turned my head slightly, shielding myself from the full impact of his fury.
"Tell me it's not true, Atlas." His tone softened, almost pleading now, his eyes searching mine for denial. But I met his gaze with unflinching calm.
With a resigned sigh, I finally answered, "Yes… I took Lady Iris as my lover." My voice was steady, casual even, though the weight of my confession was anything but.
"So it's really true… What were you thinking?" Kaleb snapped again, his words dripping with frustration. "Do you realize what this could mean for us? Iris, of all people?"
"She was in trouble. I helped her," I replied, leaning against the wall near the window. My eyes remained fixed on the bustling streets outside, refusing to meet his incredulous gaze.
"Trouble? What kind of trouble?"
