Chapter 18 - Chapter 18

Tinnie's Pov

I'm fixing her wrinkled dress.

Don't worry, nothing happened between us. It was just a kiss, nothing more.

"You're so cute." She said with a smile on her lips.

"Like a puppy." She laughed.

"No. Like a kitten." I just shook my head.

This one is at it again.

"Tinnie?"

"Oh?"

"I'm handsome." I playfully punched his chest, and he flinched in pain.

"Typhoon of boastfulness."

"Do you think I'm lying?" Aki asked, his voice low and teasing as he locked his intense gaze on me.

"Ewan," I muttered, trying to look anywhere but at him. Before I could say anything else, he leaned in and playfully bit the tip of my nose, leaving me stunned.

"Acting like you don't like him," a voice cut through our moment. "Then you go flirting? You're something else, Tinnie." I turned to see Chaira leaning casually against the wall, arms crossed, a smirk on her face.

"What are you doing here?" Aki asked, his tone sharp as he helped me to my feet, his hand lingering just a second longer than necessary.

"Watching a live show," she said, shrugging as if it were normal. "You two looked like you were filming hardcore porn."

My face heated up, and I instantly felt like being put in a microwave. Seriously, this girl's brain is like a swamp.

"What did you see?" I asked, trying not to let my voice waver.

"What did I see? Oh, just everything—the touching, the ki—"

"That's enough. You're just hungry," I cut her off, desperately steering the conversation away.

"You're just avoiding the topic," she shot back, stepping closer with an annoying smirk. Her gaze zeroed in on me like a hawk, and then she grabbed my arm.

"Wait a second. What's this red mark on your neck?" Chaira's eyes widened as she leaned in for a closer look.

"Lipstick," I said quickly, my voice coming out higher than I intended.

"Lipstick?" Chiara raised an eyebrow and crossed her arms. She looked at me like she didn't believe a word, then reached out and pressed her fingers against the mark.

"Lipstick, huh? Well, news to me that lipstick sticks like glue." She turned her sharp gaze to Aki. "And you! Flirting like she's already yours. You're unbelievable."

"We don't need a label," Aki said, his tone calm but firm as if it was the most obvious thing in the world. "Besides, she's just… dense."

Chaira let out a snort. "Unofficial couple. She's clueless, and you're just hopelessly in love. You know what? Forget it—you're both hopeless flirts!" She threw her hands in the air and walked away, muttering about how ridiculous we were.

But she wasn't done yet. She turned around once more. "So, Aki, how's the smooching going?" she teased, her grin wicked.

"Never been better," Aki replied without missing a beat. His smug smile made me want to wipe it off his face. "Honestly, I thought it was a flatscreen. Turns out they're melons."

My jaw dropped. Flatscreen? Melons? What does that even mean?

I glanced between them, my face burning hotter than the sun.

Flatscreen? Melons? Dense? Hopeless? What is even happening right now?

It turns out that there is something more complicated than mastering accounting and finance—and it's surviving, whatever this is.
