Aki's POV
I still can't believe what Drin did. Damn that man. He's trying to steal my girl.
"How can I enter your life, Tinnie, if there's no door?" I asked myself.
"Then go through the window," I turned to see Tinnie freshly showered.
"You know, you're like Nesfruta."
"Huh? Why?"
"Because you're real, so real." I just shook my head.
Sometimes, I can't understand Tinnie's personality—full of herself but also peculiar. I decided to order food for us.
"Tsk. If you even think about flirting with the guy I'm with, I'll blow your face off." I looked at the person Tinnie was talking to, and my eyes widened. This looks like trouble.
Being good-looking is tough—always being flirted with by chicks.
"Tinnie, are you okay? Let's move somewhere else."
"I'm fine," she said, giving me a sharp look.
Women are so complicated. They say they're fine, but deep inside, they're mad and jealous. They get angry for no reason. No matter what explanation you give, they always have a counter—always jumping to conclusions, jealous of every woman, moody, indecisive, and always hungry.
I just shook my head. What can I do? I can't change how I feel. I can't tell her either because I'm scared of being rejected.
She's already mine, but why am I still afraid? I'll manipulate everything to keep her from anyone else. I'm obsessive and possessive. Blame me or not, I hide my true self—behind this self-proclaimed "bad boy" image is a man longing for attention and love.
"Miss, stop flirting and winking at me because it's disgusting," I smirked at the girl Tinnie had been scolding earlier.
"Jerk!" I pinched Tinnie's cheek because she cursed.
"Red tide?" She suddenly fell silent and avoided looking at me. I chuckled softly.
"There's no one more stubborn than a woman on her period."
"My level of sarcasm has reached the point where I don't know if I'm kidding," Tinnie said absentmindedly. I just smiled; it seemed like her craziness was kicking in again.
"What's wrong?" I asked her. She had a different look in her eyes.
"Nothing." I shook my head again. Women are hard to understand when they're on their period.
"Back hugs, kisses on the forehead, and tight hugs—I like that stuff." I looked at her closely again. I think she's starting to open up.
"Drin? He's my stepbrother; he's older than me. As painful as it is to admit, my mom was a mistress. No one knows my secret except Drin. In 2014, my mom died from ovarian cancer. She was the only person I had. I felt like dying when I lost her. I was devastated. Then my dad took me in and made me live in the same house with Drin. Drin and I aren't blood-related; he's my stepmom's son from her first marriage. Even though my dad hated me, he still supported me financially, though I could manage on my own. Besides, I had Kuya Light, my cousin." Every word she said carried sadness.
"My dad and stepmom always blamed me for almost ruining their business. My dad even blamed me for my mom's death." She took a deep breath, and her tears started to fall uncontrollably. Something pinched my heart.
I can't stand seeing Tinnie hurt and crying because it fucking hurts like hell. I wiped away her tears, which kept falling.
"Tinnie, I won't let them hurt you. I'm going to protect you. I want to be with you no matter where or when. I want to be 70 and still with the same person I was messing with when I was 21." I kissed her forehead to calm her down.
"Damn, I'm so lucky. Then, I should say it too—that I want to be 70 and still with the same person I was messing with when I was 18." She smiled at me and lightly punched my arm. How embarrassing! The one time I decide to be sweet, her sadistic side comes out.
"Hi, handsome! Can I get to know you?" A girl approached me.
God, miss, get away from here before Tinnie flying-kicks you.
"Stop flirting with someone who's taken, or I'll hit you." Tinnie raised an eyebrow at the girl who came up to me.
"Who are you? Are you his girlfriend?"
"Does it have to be labeled as 'girlfriend'? Can't it be two friends with something rather than a girlfriend with nothing?" Tinnie snapped, but the girl just ignored her.
I hope I survive after this because Tinnie looks ready to punch this chick.
"No matter how hard you try to get his attention, if you're not the one he wants, he'll never notice you," Tinnie said pointedly.
"Why? Does he like you?" the girl asked. Tinnie smirked and gave me a mischievous look.
"Baby, now tell her I'm the one you like," she said, widening her eyes. Answer, Aki, or you're toast.
"Sorry, miss, but it's my baby that I like, not you." I smiled at both of them. The girl just scoffed and walked away angrily.
But honestly, I enjoyed what Tinnie said.
"You're jealous," I teased her.
"Jealous? Yeah, right. You were enjoying it."
"As long as I'm with you, my day is already perfect," I told her. "And I know we're not together, but I still want you to be mine," I added.
"I'm already yours. I wouldn't give myself to you if you didn't own me because I know I can't escape you, your plans, or the games in your head." She smirked.
So she knew my intentions.
"Then it's war."
"Yes, it's war. I can't wait to see your downfall, Anthony Kiel Cruise. Let's see who falls first."
