"Uuuggghhh... Why do I feel so shitty?" Looking up I could see the daylight barely coming out of the horizon.
Having already created a routine I did what I always do. Get up, go inside to brush my...
"Huh? Why did I get stooo... AHAHH!" Why are there wings on my back! I could feel the panic set in as a pair of giant wings covered in dried blood stood behind me.
Quickly trying to move away I realized quickly that I was attached to them! "Ugghh... what now?" I didn't know.
Everything I had done until now had been to improve my circumstances and nothing else. Sure, I learned a lot, but the more I saw the situation, I knew anything I had known before could be thrown out the window.
Spinning around I could see them follow. "If they are attached can I move them?" As if I had said some magic words the winds twitched... I felt it...
As if I had gained a new sense, the wing's senses seemed to connect perfectly to my mind. I could feel the uncomfortable dried blood that covered my wings. I could feel the muscles just as the muscles in my arms. All I had to do...
The wings flapped behind me as I instinctively knew what to do. They shook and I could feel each feather as my own as I removed most of the dried blood on the wings. Some of it was stuck on and I knew I needed to wash before I could remove it.
Then... I felt it. I can fly. So long as I will it. I will take off and soar. I didn't wait any longer and jumped as high as the trees grew and my wings moved as intended and flapped into a shaky hover. It felt like a skill that you forgot you knew and your body guided you on how to do it, even though you will likely not be as perfect as you were before.
Strangely each feather felt similar to your toes. You could flex them, but not have perfect control since you don't use them often to do anything dexterous. Instead, you allow your instinct to make sure they do what they should so you can gain balance.
Grinning widely I knew that I was flying. It didn't feel like a dream. No. I was truly flying. I could feel the wind flow between my feathers soothing them. Like grass between your toes, it is a bit weird but calming.
After hovering for a bit longer I knew exactly what to do. I flapped my wings as I tried to fly forward... tried...
Unfortunately flying was not as easy as it seemed as I immediately crashed into a nearby tree... After crashing I strangely didn't feel anything wrong. Not a concussion... wait not even a little pain...
After thinking about it for a moment longer I decided that it wasn't worth thinking about this for much longer and tried to fly off of the tree I had almost knocked down... Again. Tried...
Wiping the dirt off my face after faceplanting I could only say quietly, "...This is going to be harder than I thought."

After a long day, I saw the sun slowly setting. Exhausted after crashing into trees for twelve hours I was slowly starting to fly a bit better. As I lay there exhausted I felt like everything was going to be great! NO! I knew it!
Slowly I watched as the sun slowly moved creating a beautiful red sky. Having landed near a lake made the scenery even more beautiful. Looking down at the lake reflecting both the sun and myself I saw how little I had changed besides the wings. Still had the same average physique with only having muscular arms. I didn't gain a six pack or have my greenish brown changed colors.
As I looked on I felt at peace. I was still me. My wish had come true. Although not perfect it was good enough. Yet the more I looked on something can in and flew past my eyes before crashing into the lake.
"Huh? What the hell is that?"
Before I could question more, a pair of illustrious black wings flapped up from the water. "AAAHH! SHIT!" The girl connected to the wings screamed... Girl? "HELP!"
The girl was desperately flailing her wings around like a mad woman trying to find out what was happening. Before I could question more a second call for help woke me up as my body started moving on its own.
Before I knew it I could feel the cold mountain water splash my face as I dived into the water. Reaching out I soon caught one of the girl's flailing arms. She in turn grabbed onto me with her other arm as she pulled me towards her deeper into the lake.
Although I wasn't the best swimmer it was good enough as I pulled her out of the water with great effort. She quickly took in a deep breath of fresh air and began to cough.
As she coughed she held on to my arm and I wrapped an arm around her to pull her up as I tried to keep us afloat. Yet that didn't last for long as her beautiful feathers engulfed me as she wrapped her wings around me having them just under my wings. Unfortunately, it restricted my movement.
Quickly I tried to think how to float on the water and stay in the air and how to get to land. Soon I knew I had to let go of her and try to use my arms to do all the work.
Getting ready to put the plan into motion I suddenly felt something strange... Why wasn't I sinking?...
Looking around I tried to find out why, but soon I saw the reason. Her wings were waterproof and made a sort of boat for us to float on. Slightly stunned I looked to the girl only to see she had her eyes closed while hugging my arm while the majority of her body was on my chest. Of course, that part was my fault as I was trying to get her out of the water.
Suddenly, I didn't know what to do. I had never dated. My parents took all my time away, and I didn't have the energy to even try to get a girlfriend. Yet now, I had a cute girl with gorgeous wings on my chest breathing heavily.
"um..." I tried to speak but nothing came to mind, yet my sound seemed to wake her up as she suddenly opened her eyes as she looked up at me.
"ah-" Her eyes widened looking at me holding her with one arm while the other was tightly in her grasp.
"You doing alright?"
She looked at me with a completely blank expression as if her brain shortcircuited. The only indication she heard me was her tightening grasp on my arm.
Not knowing what to do I decided to focus on getting out of the water when an idea came to mind. I had before tried to swim using the appendages I was more used to, but now I had two more that looked perfect for paddling, so why not use them to swim?
Quickly putting my idea into practice I slowly started pushing us to shore. The girl in my arms on the other hand still hadn't moved after being awoken. I could only watch her in concern while we moved towards the shore.
Only after almost reaching the shore did I hear something from the girl. "Aren't you afraid of me?"
"Huh????????"
