"Is that a new suit?" I asked, trying to get Romano to talk. I noticed he's been avoiding me ever since the incident at the T-Room
I wonder what T stood for and why it was named that.
Shivers ran down my spine when Jedro's disfigured face flashed through my mind. His lips were swollen, his eyes were red, his teeth were all bloody.
My heart sank when I found Romano choking him to death. I knew Romano was ruthless but a little part of me hoped it wasn't as grave as they made him sound. Seeing him all determined to kill the boy yesterday hurt me deeper than I expected.
He's a monster, after all. What was I expecting anyway. I should avoid him but I just couldn't. I knew he wasn't good for me but nobody is perfect anyway.
"Meet me in the office. I might not return home today so better meet me there" His firm voice snapped me out of my thoughts.
He wasn't going to come back home?
"You're not coming back home today?" Sitting up properly, I asked. He just glared at me, tossing his phone on the table as he arranged his tie.
His first attempt to knot the tie didn't turn out well. Aggressively, he loosened it, trying again. I watched him closely not saying anything. Something wasn't right.
"Fuck this" The sound of his ripped tie echoed in the air, making me gasp out in shock.
Is he okay?
My head turned, following his movement. He picked up another tie and walked back to the mirror again. Getting fed up with his drama, I summoned the courage to walk up to him.
He won't hurt me, right?
"Are you on your period?" Laughing nervously, I said. As usual, he glared at me making me roll my eyes at him. Very cliché. "I got this" Bringing his hand down carefully, I said. He stared at me but didn't say anything.
His expensive cologne danced into my nostrils. When I raised my eyes to stare at his, he shifted his gaze elsewhere.
"You'd need something stronger than that to kill me" Romano said. I didn't even know I had tightened the tie until he spoke. I was really lost in my thoughts.
"What's going on?" I asked, softly, still not letting his tie go as I held onto the tip of the tie. I was enjoying the warmth his body brought upon mine.
"I'm getting late, Jadelyn"
Jadelyn. Not, Peach. Something was definitely wrong.
"You don't leave this room until you speak to me" Stomping to the door, I locked the door before removing the key and tucking it into my skirt pocket.
"Jadelyn..." He growled, his feral gaze on me.
"I am not scared of you" My voice came out firm, contrary to what I was feeling inside. My heart was screaming at me to put the key back on the door before we all die but my mind was already made up.
"Are you not?" He took a threatening step forward. Instinctively, my leg moved backward. "Liar" He scoffed, placing his hands on the door, caging me.
"I...I am not lying" I stuttered, holding onto his gaze.
"Even if I do this ..." His hands flew to me neck, gripping it hard as he leaned in. "You can lie all you want but your eyes says it all."
"What point are you trying to prove, Romano" I managed to ask between breaths.
"I am a monster and that's all I'll ever be. You see me as one." His grip on my neck began to soften as his eyes zeroed into mine.
"Monsters don't show mercy" Panting, I said.
"I don't show mercy too" He gave me a confused look when I smiled.
"Jedro walked away and you let him. A monster wouldn't do that" My smile grew wider as the realization of him letting Jedro go, crossed my mind.
Maybe there was a human inside there. Instinctively, I placed my hand on his chest. His heartbeat picked up, pounding against his chest.
"He was useless to me" Swatting my hands away, he snapped moving away from me as if I burned him.
"If that's what makes you sleep at night" I shrugged, peeling off my dress
"What...what are you doing?" Romano narrowed his gaze at me, looking utterly confused at my action.
"What do you think I'm doing?" Biting my lips, I took slow steps towards him. He stood his ground, his eyes roaming around my bikini. "I can help you out, you know" I placed my hand on his shoulder.
"What do you mean?" He held my hand, looking at my face.
Pulling my hands away, I turned around walking up to the door. "I can help you use your pool since you don't use it" Unlocking the door, I winked at him before walking out
"Stop right there!" I heard him growl. Without being told twice, I did as I'm told. "You better fucking put on a jacket before getting down that stairs" He warned.
Smiling, I ran down the stairs daring him. I could hear him yell after me which made me giggle at my mischievous attitude.
"Whoooooo!" I yelled, diving into the pool. I reached for the bottom, staying under for a while before slowly coming up to the surface of the water. It felt refreshing.
I was disappointed when I didn't see Romano standing there, with a scowl on his face. A scowl I was beginning to like.
Maybe he really had important things to do in the office. Or important person to do.
The thought of Romano shoving his cock into a random lady made my stomach twist in disgust and.... Jealousy?
No, I doubt it's jealousy. Why would I be jealous?
I dived into the water, occupying my mind with other things like the thought of my mother being safe. That really brought peace to my heart. Everybody was away from that monster, my father.
Resurfacing onto the surface again, I exhaled calmly before opening my eyes. An expensive shoe flashed came into view. I smiled saying "I knew you'd come after me"
"Of course, I would." He said. But that didn't sound like Romano. Raising my head up, I gasped, sinking into the water back.
