Yaren opened his eyes with a startled, launching his upper body uprite as he took in a deep breath. Looking around the room he was in, he noticed that he had never been in a room like this before. The bed he was in was the most comfortable bed he had ever experienced, and the furniture in the room was equivalent to a mid grade Inn. Shadows flickered on the wall from a few candles that had lit the room. Glancing out the window a few feet from his bed and noticing it was nighttime, Yaren attempted to get out of bed only to realize his legs didn't work. "I.. I'm crippled?" He thought to himself. Glancing at his stats he noticed that he had a "Crippled" debuff attached to his health.

"Although, It seems like it will wear off after some time.. at least I know I'll be able to move again.." After laying In his bed for awhile Yaren cleared his throat before he croaked out a "Hello?" Hearing the sounds of movement outside his door, he waited a few moments before more sounds of movement shook the floor. The door burst open as Skrid stared at Yaren with wide eyes. "Y-yo Runt.. l-lookin good." He stammered. Letting out a sigh as he gave a small nod of his head, Yaren waved him inside the room. After Skrid took a seat, Yaren noticed that he was tugging at his ears nervously as if he was waiting for something. "Spit it out already. " he impatiently after watching him tic for a few moments. Skrid let out an audible sigh of relief as he seemed to deflate in the chair. "Thank goodness. The healers said that did all they could, it would be up to whether or not you healed fully." The chattered about a few small things before Yaren asked him how long he had been unconscious. "About 3 weeks. A lot has happened. I mean a lot." His voice weary and exhausted. Yaren noticed the dark circles under Skrids eyes. "What happened that night? I'm guessing someone from the Village managed to make it in time, but what was the deal with those guys? And what of that Warren fucker? Why the hell did he decide to start attacking those freaks?!" He voice raising as he felt his blood running faster at the thought of his battle. Yarens eye widened as Skrid recalled the events that had happened after he fell unconscious. "I knew there was something weird with those people.. but to think even the Chief had no clue..." "All we know is that the Red Silk Group and a couple of other organizations are fighting a proxy war with the Kuldrid Empire. Yinnsk Village has become one of the many frontlines that the enemy has advanced." After a short pause Skrid leading forward clasping his hands. "What we still don't understand is why many of the people who attack aren't able to use their Mana, and if we force them to a point to where they have to use it, their body activates a seal and turns them into ash a short while later." Dumbfounded by the meaningless waste of their life, Yaren couldn't help but wonder what was making these people throw thenselves away so needlessy. Exhaling an audible sigh Yaren looked at Skrid as he questioned where they were. "Norn City. The Chief brought you here to help heal your wounds.." Skrid furrowed his brows as he carried on "Also.. there are a couple people who want to meet you." His eyes cast a nervous glance towards his friend posted in the bed. "I have to return to the village in a couple of days.. but Fragnir will be coming here once I leave. That's all I can say for now." Standing up he walked over to Yaren before resting a hand in his shoulder. "Some folks will be coming by in the morning to see if you need anything. You want me to grab you anything special when I come back?" After a few moments of contemplation Yaren thought of something important he was interested in. "If possible, do you have any books that teach the most common language? I remember that I couldn't understand a word of Warren and those people who attacked us." Skrid gave him a sideways glance as he said "Well.. I'm sure I can find one, but how will you read it?" "I'm sure I can ask someone to help me out, either way just bring me a book or two if you can." "Yeah yeah sure thing Runt." Skrid said as he exited the room with a wave. Just like that a few days had passed. Skrid bought a couple of books that taught the Inglant language, the universal language for this part of the world. Ignorant to the fact the Yaren had a system, Skrid assumed that someone was teaching him when he wasn't around. In reality Yaren just decided to use one of the skill points he had saved up from before. Tomorrow was the day when Fragnir was supposed to arrive, making Yaren somewhat uneasy as he wasn't sure what he could do for him. He wouldn't be able to train for several weeks, and anything he knew about those people he could have asked Skrid. Deciding not to worry himself Yaren decided to daydream an adventure for himself when he suddenly remembered the quest he recieved right before that fierce clash he had. <[Quest Completed: Hunted] "The Red Silk Group has sent people after Warren. A change in events has led you into a confrontation with his Trackers." (Requirements: Repel or defeat the two people after Warren Failure: Warren Dies, Possible Death Rewards: 20 Attribute Points, 1 Skill point, 1 uncommon techinque.)> "I must have been out cold when the notification went off." After completing the quest Yaren now had 30 attribute points and 2 Skill points, having used one to learn the common language of the area, He also could claim his new techinque whenever he wanted, but he decided to save everything for until he was better. Gritting his teeth as he recalled how difficult that last fight was, he vowed to grow stronger so that he could crush people who looked down on him. Although he won, using trickery to seal the deal didn't give him any pride. The next morning Yaren was awoken to the the feeling of something wet lightly chewing on his hand hanging off the bed. The feeling of being gnawed on, although it wasn't painful would be jarring to most people. Ripping his arm to his chest, he pulled his body up to look down at the culprit out of view on the side of his bed. Right before he was able to peer over the side, he felt the intense pressure of a familiar gaze weighing down on him. Turning to the door way he saw Fragnir leaning against the frame, with a jet black head poking around from the side of his legs. Upon Fragnir appearing, the noise of something scrambling to its legs as if it was caught stealing came from the side of the bed. A two meter long, and a meter and a half tall, a silly looking wolf scuttled over and sat in front of Fragnir. Clicking his tongue in annoyance he threw a bone he retrieved from his pocket to the young wolf. He then strode over to where Yaren was saying before soundlessly standing over him, scrutinizing the young man before him. "Asena will stay with you, at least until your legs heal." With his typical stoic demeanor he gave a wave of his hand, the foolish looking wolf from before propping its front legs up onto the bed with its head tilted to the side. To be honest Yaren thought that the wolf in front of him had to be special in some way. The wolf named Asena seemed like she didn't have a thought in her head as her tongue dangled a few inches out of her mouth, her Orange Reddish ears perked up as she sniffed Yarens arm before trying to chew on it like before. Taking a good look at her, although she seemed kind of dumb, she was a beautiful Second Evolution Scarlet Wolf. Most of her body was a dark scarlet with her paws, neck, and ears being a lighter Orange Red. In typical fashion Fragnir said only a handful of words in his visit. Although Yaren only saw Fragnir and the two Wolves, Lupa and his new companion Asena, he couldn't held but feel the ominous gaze of something that seemed malefic in nature. The feeling of being watched disappeared along with the departure of Fragnir, however whenever Yaren seemed to think about it a chill ran through his spine. Asena also seemed to give him a reprimanding look as if she knew what he was thinking. Yaren gave a disgruntled mumble as he looked around the room. "This fucking boring." He had probably told himself a thousand times. Asena was looking out the window when Yaren noticed that she was a rather large wolf. An unruly smile formed on his lips as an idea popped into his mind. Looking around the room to see his gear in a pile in a corner, his body tingled with excitement as he called Asena over to his side.
