[Back to Legion's pov]
One person who I know would do anything for the kids of this village, a person who is brave, kind and the only mother figure Legion, Anore and Avix had.
Morgan.
Opening the doors to the tavern, Morgan and the kids look up from their seats behind the desk and their eyes widen in surprise as his siblings move from behind the desk and dashes towards him, wrapping their arms around his legs.
"Big brother!" Anore cheers, joyfully.
"Brother!" Avix says quietly.
"Anore! Avix!" He hugs them back, then goes down to their level. "Are you too nice to Morgan?"
"Well duh!" Anore rolls her eyes playfully.
"Yep!" Avix smiles.
"Good." He smiles back.
"Are you here to take them home?" Morgan walks up to him. "I didn't expect you to be so busy on your day off, aren't you feeling tired."
Well I was, during my time in the dungeon but now, I'm not.
Not like I can say that.
"Nope." he lies, as he gets back up to face her. "Is Jaxon in the mines today?"
"Yeah." She answers.
"I have something to ask you though." He looks down at the kids and back up at her. "Alone."
She looks at him confused but sends the kids off to clean the desk and the floors, while they talk in the far corner of the room at a table. Taking a seat, he takes a deep breath contemplating whether to tell her and if so how do he start it?
Should I go with how I usually say it?
"So-"
"Avix, look out, it's going to fall!" She spins around and for a moment her eyes glints a preceding golden.
What was that? You say that right, Cinder?
"Yeah, in fact at that moment everything changed within her." Cinder replies.
What do you mean?
"Like I thought I saw a different face for a moment, but it could be a trick of the light." He brushes it off.
"Thank you!" Avix says catching the glass bottle just in time.
"Sorry." she turns back, looking at Legion's blank face. "What?"
"Nothing." He says, shaking his head to get rid of the thought and to focus more on what he needs to do. "I need your help." He jumps right into it.
"Help?" She repeats confusion etched on her face.
Legion begins from the beginning leaving nothing behind but his past and that he's not the real Legion. He relays all the encounters and things that Blasie told them. And even as a trick he uses the little bit of mana he has left to duplicate a snowdrop flower right in front of her eyes.
At first, Morgan looked shocked, but it wasn't the surprise of belief—it was the disbelief of not believing a single word he was saying. That is, until he showed her his magic, and that's when the full realization kicked in.
Her face darkens as her head drops down to her hands as he fidgets with them. "How…How long do we have?"
I still have no idea how long it will take for me to reach level ten. But before I do reach that level, I want to go back and finish that dungeon, yet I think it will be in a few days.
"Anytime from now to a couple of days."He answers.
"A few days, huh." She rips her hair through her hair, as a sigh escapes her lips.
"But we have a plan."
"What is the plan?" She inquires.
"How about we go right now, if you're free?"
She nods seriously then turns to the kids with a smile on her face. "Kids, I need you to go inside my room, lock the door and play there, okay? Me and your brother have something to do." She says.
"But what about the tavern?" Anore questions peeking her head pass the desk, while Avix hair is the only thing above the desk.
"I'll close it, don't worry, we shouldn't be out for too long." She replies.
"Oh ok!" She jumps down from the chair and pulls Avix behind her as they shout. "Bye Auntie! Bye brother!" before running to her room.
Waving them away, they both stood up and made their way to the door. Morgan locked it before heading to the store, with Cinder trailing behind Legion, as always.
