Amendeial's POV
As much as Lucifer's carefree attitude grates on me, I can't deny the sense of freedom we've been given. But even as he flashes his charming grin, I can't help but feel a gnawing sense of duty. I turn to him, trying to choose my words carefully, knowing he's not one for long speeches about responsibility.
"Lucifer, I understand that we've been given the freedom to do as we please, but... don't you think we should at least try to make something of this place? A safe haven, perhaps? Somewhere we, and the spirits that come after us, can stay?"
Lucifer tilts his head, his lips twitching into a smirk. "A safe haven? You mean like a cosmic Airbnb for all future spirits born here?" He shrugs, pretending to think. "I suppose it wouldn't be the worst idea. But what's the rush? We've got time."
I shake my head, a small smile forming despite myself. "Lucifer, we don't know when Jack will expect us to start running things. It wouldn't hurt to be prepared. Besides, don't you want a place of your own? Somewhere to rule over, even if it's just for fun?"
He arches a brow, and I can see the spark of curiosity lighting up his eyes. "A place of my own, you say?" Lucifer strokes his chin, pondering the idea. "Now that sounds much more appealing. My own island, a kingdom, where I can be the dashing ruler? Yes, I rather like the sound of that."
"Exactly," I say, hoping to build on that. "We can create a sanctuary. You have your space, I'll have mine, and the spirits that come after us will have a place to call home."
Lucifer finally nods, a mischievous grin playing on his lips. "Fine, you win. Let's create something. I'll admit, it could be amusing to have a little domain of my own."
With a wave of his hand, Lucifer's powers flicker into life, and he starts shaping his portion of the dimension. Darkness coils around him, forming mountains and jagged cliffs bathed in shadows. His island takes form, and to no surprise, it reflects him perfectly: mysterious, alluring, and dangerous. As the creation takes shape, it begins to resemble a twisted version of Las Vegas—bright lights, tall structures, places of indulgence and debauchery. Casinos, pleasure palaces, endless entertainment. A kingdom where the dark desires of the soul could run free.
"Welcome to my paradise," Lucifer says with a wink, gesturing to his growing creation. "A place where free will reigns supreme. You can indulge in whatever you want, no judgment here."
I can't help but roll my eyes, though his work is impressive. "Lucifer, this place... really?"
"What?" he says with mock innocence. "It's paradise for me."
I turn to focus on my own creation, summoning my powers. Light cascades from my hands, forming cities bathed in radiant light, peaceful fields, towering golden structures, and a serenity that's unmatched. My island becomes something like Heaven—a realm of order, peace, and serenity, similar to the images of Heaven from Christian faith. Here, there would be no chaos or destruction, only calm and light.
"See?" I say, giving Lucifer a pointed look. "This is a place where beings can find peace."
Lucifer grins and shrugs. "Different strokes for different folks, brother."
Lucifer's POV
Oh, Amendeial, always the responsible one. His little slice of heaven over there is everything you'd expect from him—boring, peaceful, and full of light. But mine? Well, mine's got flair. It's a world that promises excitement, thrills, and a healthy dose of debauchery. Just the way I like it.
"So, what do we do now?" I ask, leaning casually against a rock. "Shall we give the spirits a choice? My lovely dark Vegas or your... what did you call it? Holy Disneyland?"
Amendeial sighs, but there's a hint of amusement in his voice. "Yes, we'll give them a choice. It's only fair."
I flick my wrist, and the spirits, now fully formed angels and demons, materialize before us. Their eyes wide with awe as they gaze at the islands we've created. "Welcome, my dear friends," I announce, spreading my arms wide. "You've been given a unique opportunity. To choose."
I gesture to the two islands. "Light or dark, angel or demon, it's up to you. No pressure, of course. But I'd recommend my side if you're into freedom, passion, and a bit of mischief. Amendeial's side is nice if you're into... well, rules and being responsible."
Amendeial shoots me a look. "Lucifer, please."
"Fine, fine," I say, waving my hand. "Make your own decision, folks. Either way, you're free to choose. We'll be here, should you need anything."
The spirits look between us, a few of them clearly drawn to the darker energy I radiate, while others are more inclined to the warmth of Amendeial's light. Slowly, they start choosing sides, and I can't help but feel a surge of pride as a sizable number of demons decide to settle on my island.
Amendeial's POV
As the spirits make their choices, I can't help but feel a sense of satisfaction. We've created something—two domains, each representing our nature, and now the spirits have a place to call home. It's a start, a foundation for what's to come.
Lucifer grins, watching as his demons settle into their new home. "Well, that was fun. Who knew being a creator could be so... fulfilling?"
I smile, though I still feel the weight of responsibility. "It's a step in the right direction. Now, we'll see how this world grows."
Lucifer stretches and gives me a knowing look. "And when the time comes for Jack to give us more to do, we'll be ready. But for now, let's enjoy what we've built. Who knows? Maybe we'll get to be kings of our own little worlds after all."
I nod, though I can't shake the feeling that this is just the beginning. There's more to come, more to build, more challenges to face. But for now, we have a home. And for now, that's enough.
