Jack found himself in a glowing chamber filled with cosmic swirls and shimmering stars, a secluded space he'd designed to observe and shape Planetos. Today, though, he wasn't alone. Across from him stood Lucifer and Amendial—two pillars of his realm and, as Jack had discovered, wildly different personalities who each brought something unique to the table.
"Alright, gentlemen," Jack began, his voice calm yet filled with excitement. "I've brought you here because we're approaching a critical point. Civilization on Planetos is about to mature, and I have big plans for this… an Age of Gods."
Lucifer raised an eyebrow, his British accent as sharp as his wit. "So, you're saying you want to give these mortals something to worship? Oh, I do love a good drama with divine stakes." He grinned, lounging back in his seat. "But tell me, Jack, what's the… tone you're aiming for?"
Jack chuckled, "Right, well, it's not just a free-for-all. These deities will represent different religions already rooted in Planetos, each with its own distinct personality and values. For example, I envision a deity for the Old Gods—benevolent yet unyielding, someone wise but reserved. Then we have R'hllor… cunning, deceitful, indifferent. And, for the Faith of the Seven, I want someone full of arrogance, who believes himself to be the absolute authority."
Amendial nodded thoughtfully, arms folded as he processed the information. "Interesting approach," he said, his tone as measured as always. "I believe each deity should match the nature of their followers. If the god for the Old Gods embodies patience and resilience, their followers would inherit that resolve. And if R'hllor's champion reflects cunning, it would breed people of similar, well… questionable morality."
"Noted, Amendial," Jack replied, glancing over to Lucifer. "And you, Lucifer? Suggestions on recruitment for these positions?"
Lucifer leaned forward, his eyes gleaming. "Oh, I have a few ideas. For the Old Gods, someone quiet but with a deep, immovable sense of justice. And R'hllor? We need someone who's all about seduction, manipulation, and playing the long game—a god who can outfox his own followers if it comes to that."
Jack smirked. "Good. I'll note those down. Now, the Faith of the Seven," he paused, looking pointedly at Lucifer. "I need someone who can embody arrogance, who sees himself as the crown jewel."
Lucifer laughed, "Someone who believes they're as important as, say, yours truly?"
"Exactly," Jack chuckled, then paused. "How about this? I'll grant both of you permission to observe the entire process up close, maybe even lend some guidance from time to time."
Amendial's expression softened, his protective instincts already activated. "If we're going to see this through, I'd like to ensure these new gods don't interfere too recklessly. They need to serve a purpose, not just their egos."
Lucifer threw his hands up in mock offense. "Oh, don't worry, Amendial. I'll keep things nice and tidy. Besides, I'm dying to see how these deities play out in Jack's little experiment."
Jack smiled, satisfied. "Good. Then it's settled. You two will have access to observe the process, and when the time comes, maybe you can even test these gods a bit."
With that, they arrived in Jack's cosmic viewing space, a massive, shimmering sphere showing various views of Planetos. Together, they leaned in to watch as civilization started to take shape. The ancestors evolved and spread across the continents—Valyrians adapting to their surroundings, Yi Ti flourishing in the east, and the mysterious civilizations of Ulthos rising in the shadows.
But what really caught their attention was the northernmost region, near the Bone Mountains, where the First Men had begun to emerge. Jack raised a brow, intrigued as he watched the early First Men show signs of magical ability, with a few even displaying the classic Stark features he recognized from the legends.
"Interesting," Jack murmured, peering closer. "It seems that an ice dragon once roamed these lands and blessed some of their leaders with ice magic."
Amendial nodded thoughtfully. "A remarkable foundation, indeed. They have a touch of the north's resilience."
Lucifer leaned in, clearly intrigued. "And that starkness… well, that's going to make things interesting. But it looks like we're getting close, Jack. The Age of Gods isn't far off."
Jack nodded, a smile playing on his lips. "Exactly. We're on the brink. And once the Age of Gods begins, we'll see just how ready these spirits are to embrace their new roles." He turned to the two of them, a glint of excitement in his eyes. "I think it's time we prepared for the next stage."
