The Uchiha clan grounds before Sasuke didn't seem like the site of a massacre!
The crowd was just as dense as that of Konoha's commercial center.
Sasuke had never seen the Uchiha compound this lively, not even in his childhood.
Looking around, his eyes finally settled on the long line outside Haruto's house, and he understood:
"This guy! Does he think he's the head of the Uchiha clan now? How dare he gather so many people on my clan's land!"
Sasuke clenched his fists, pushing his way through the crowd in front of Haruto's house. His small body squeezed past the people until he reached the front row.
"Get out of the way! You don't belong to the Uchiha clan. Who gave you permission to step onto our land?"
"Hey! Didn't you hear me? Move!"
"But… ugh! Who's pushing me…?"
Despite his shouts, his voice was lost in the chatter of the crowd.
Several large women, irritated by Sasuke's sudden intrusion, snapped impatiently:
"Whose brat is this? Go play somewhere else!"
"Hey kid, put that toy kunai away! If you snag my stockings, I'll make you pay!"
"This child's probably looking for his mother. Don't worry, sweetie, she might be inside with Haruto for an interview. She'll be out soon."
"Why's such a cute boy so grumpy? Pray that your mother passes the interview! If she's accepted, you'll be half Uchiha soon!"
"What did you say?"
Sasuke was dumbfounded. His expression darkened as he shouted back:
"Half Uchiha? I'm Sasuke Uchiha, the son of the Uchiha clan leader, and I carry the purest Uchiha blood!"
"What? You're Sasuke? The other Uchiha survivor?"
The women were stunned. They looked him over, finally noticing the iconic "fan" symbol on the back of his shirt. Their faces paled in shock.
This is the Uchiha clan's crest! After the massacre, only Haruto and Sasuke dared to wear it.
The women fell silent, realizing they had offended the young clan leader. Panic set in—what would happen to them now?
"Move! I'm going in."
Sasuke despised dealing with women, aside from his mother. He pushed the three aside and barged into Haruto's house.
---
In the wooden house's hall, Haruto was seated at a table, interviewing a woman with a pleasant appearance.
Behind him, Inuzuka Akimi was gently changing his bandages, the two of them flirting now and then. Her red dress was wrinkled and damp with sweat, and the hem had ridden up to her thighs, revealing the remnants of some prior activity.
Clearly, something more intimate had taken place just moments ago.
As Haruto glanced at the resume in his hand, he eyed the figure of the woman before him and asked, a hint of doubt in his voice, "36D? Are you sure?"
The woman blushed and stammered, "I-I'm sure. The outfit I wore today might be too modest to show it properly. If you don't believe me, I can show you now..."
She reached for her collar.
"No, no, there's no need for that..." Haruto waved his hand in a panic, but it was too late. Her collar was already coming down.
Without meaning to, his hand landed squarely on her chest.
"Uh... well, I guess you weren't lying," he stammered, feeling awkward.
"Haruto! What are you doing?!"
Sasuke had burst into the room at the worst possible moment, catching Haruto red-handed.
"You perverted bastard! Are you really betraying the clan like this?"
Sasuke's face flushed red with rage. He couldn't contain the fury swelling in his chest and hurled a shuriken straight at Haruto's head.
Inuzuka Akimi reacted instantly, kicking the shuriken away with a swift motion. As a jonin, it was easy for her to deal with Sasuke's attacks.
"You're hiding behind a woman again! You did the same thing when my father was alive. You've brought nothing but shame to the Uchiha!"
Throughout history, no Uchiha man had ever relied on a woman to defend him. Haruto was the first.
For Sasuke, who believed in the honor and pride of the Uchiha men, this was unforgivable.
Seeing the anger boiling over in Sasuke, Haruto sighed and spoke calmly:
"Sasuke, we are the only two pure-blooded Uchiha left. Can we please talk? What we need now is unity and a plan for the future of our clan."
"There's nothing to talk about, you pervert! The Uchiha doesn't need you. All you do is drag our name through the mud!"
"Sasuke, you misunderstand me..."
"It's not a misunderstanding. I've hated you for as long as I can remember!"
"Alright, I understand." Haruto remained composed and continued, "I admit that my past actions have hurt the reputation of the Uchiha clan. But what I'm doing now is different—I'm trying to save our clan."
"Save the clan? You're lying! Groping women in public is your idea of saving the Uchiha?"
"Sasuke, you're only seeing the surface. You need to understand the deeper purpose behind my actions."
Haruto knew Sasuke wouldn't grasp the complexity of the situation with his immature mindset. He needed to explain properly.
"Akimi, please take this lady out. I need to speak with Sasuke alone."
Inuzuka Akimi glanced at Sasuke, concerned. "Are you sure? He looks dangerous..."
"I'll be fine. Don't worry. He's just a child, and I can handle myself."
Reluctantly, Akimi took the woman out, leaving the two Uchiha alone.
"Finally showing some backbone! Not hiding behind a woman this time," Sasuke scoffed as he brandished a kunai and slowly advanced.
Despite the tension, Haruto remained calm. He poured two cups of tea and said quietly:
"Sasuke, just hear me out. If you still want to kill me after, I won't stop you. But give me a chance to explain."
