Chapter 3 - Love that Returns

{Perspective of Taski}As Mandy and I traversed through the ruins of Treesape City, I couldn't stop thinking about the only woman I wanted to see again and hug tightly Ariah. She is constantly on my mind, like a constant hunger in the stomach. She wouldn't just leave me; however, I knew I had to search for her spirit. I could never forgive myself for forgetting about her and moving forward with my life, not without her. I wanted to believe that her soul breathed in the madness; I searched for her force until I saw it. Ariah was like a drug I couldn't get myself off; her sweet energy, beautiful face, eyes, and unique and warm hug made my chest fire up. I miss her extraordinary voice, incredible heart, and irreplaceable arms of love.{End of Taski's Perspective}------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------{Narrative Perspective}Taski and Mandy continued through the quiet and abandoned streets of Treesape and avoided all contact with the Dark Eibax. Mandy kept an eye on Taski after feeling his energy dropping. "You seem lost up there, cutie, so what gives? Why is it you keep walking all weird like that?" Mandy asked out of curiosity about the prince. Taski just brushed off most of her questions with simple responses, intending to reject her questions politely. As he did not want to share his feelings regarding Ariah Marylinn with her further on, Mandy continued worrying about him. The two proceeded onward to find any hope that they could grasp. Hours passed in the day, and the two stopped by a miniature store with edibles.Mandy moved into the small store to add more small food to their bags while Taski stared into the city heights towards the sun. Taski lost himself in the star's brightness and viewed it as a sign of hope, and he then went into the store quickly after spotting some Dark Eibax soldiers nearby. Minutes after restocking their food supply, they swiftly moved out from the area filled with many soldiers. Taski and Mandy then stumbled upon a massive area that was opened to visible eyes, and with visible eyes came the Dark Eibax soldiers surrounding the area heavily. Taski and Mandy then strategized their next move but were left with little to no option but to fight the demonic soldiers; however, they realized their actions would only doom their lives if not executed properly. They both decided to avoid the soldiers and moved further from the vast area. They took a longer path to a more dead and emptied street space. As Taski continued, he then caught a quick feeling of an individual's emotions within his heart, and he wondered to himself if this was Ariah's cries attempting to cling onto his chest. Then, as Taski and Mandy walked out into a four-way stop, massive Dark Eibax soldiers were spotted and faced in their direction. Taski then grabbed Mandy and shoved her against a door of a five-story parking garage building. "What Gives?" Mandy demanded of Taski. Taski quickly covered her lips and shushed her voice level, "ˢʰʰʰ. ᴰᵒⁿ'ᵗ ᵐᵃᵏᵉ ᵃ ˢᵒᵘⁿᵈ ᵒʳ ᵐᵒᵛᵉᵐᵉⁿᵗ." Taski whispered, commanding her of her vocal tone. He then escorted her down to a lower part of the parking garage where they had stopped, and the two hid in the dark shadows of the lower deck. "Search Down Here, and I know I saw someone over here. Don't stop until you find and slaughter them and paint this place with their blood and organs." One of the Dark Eibax soldiers commanded the others with him. Taski held Mandy close to him with his arms around her as the soldiers slowly made their way towards them; Mandy then slipped away from Taski and began crawling on the first floor's ceiling and positioned herself in the dark. "ᵂᴴᴬᵀ ᴬᴿᴱ ʸᴼᵁ ᴰᴼᴵᴺᴳ?!" Taski whispered, demanding an answer. Seconds after questioning her actions, a large soldier had stepped into the darkness of the parking spots in search of the sounds that disturbed him greatly. Taski quickly hid behind a wall near the elevators while Mandy remained incognito from the soldier approaching them. "COME OUT! I know you're around here. I can smell your anxiety spilling." The Dark Eibax soldier announced to them. Taski remains still and quiet as the soldier slowly closes in on him, and the soldier reveals his sword to him beyond the vision of the wall. The soldier then steps away for a second, but then Mandy falls upon the soldier's face and stabs the soldier's brain, drilling it further down its nape. The soldier falls to death with little reaction; Mandy quickly drops to her knees and examines the soldier's blood. With no hesitation, Mandy then consumes its blood as if her thirst were unsatisfied remarkably, and Taski watches as she drinks the blood and becomes disgusted. "What gives? Were you really that thirsty?" Taski implies to her that she is disturbed by her choices. Mandy then explained to him a unique passive skill that involves drinking her enemies' blood for their scent, "If I drink my enemies' blood, I can pick up their scent and easily track them down. I also get a massive buff in my speed and adrenaline. In a way, it's gross, but helpful eventually." Mandy explains to him. Her body then pulsed intensely due to her passive going to work on her strength boost; she fell to the ground with a painful moan due to the phenomenal blood power from the soldier. Shortly afterward, she rose and was restored to full strength, although many other Dark Eibax soldiers began to move underground toward the sight and searched for the two. Taski grabbed Mandy and took off with her before any eyes were on them, although the other incoming soldiers noticed the dead body of their fallen ally. The other soldiers then disbanded from the scene and resumed their search for other human bodies in the city.------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------{Meanwhile, away from Taski and Mandy}{Ariah's Perspective}I rushed away from the entrance of the museum quickly before the insane creatures cut me down and consumed my last bit of blood left. I took the air vent door off the vent and promptly placed myself behind it; I then crawled around the other side of the air vent to hide myself from the coming pain. Their screams and screeching were unpleasant to my ears; it almost made my hearing go to death from their powerful sound waves. I then ducked my head and covered my ears as tight as possible until the creatures gave up and lost interest in me. Then, another dreadful sound filled my ears. Unfortunately, the very sound of my hungry stomach spoke to me with high disappointment. I then lay against a wall inside the air vent for the night and went another night without food or luck finding survivors in the city. My head, my legs, and my stomach all burdened me heavily, and I had no hope left in me. I had accepted defeat and came to the point of no hope in me. I knew that Taski and all the others wouldn't go for me. Yet, I somehow keep telling myself that he'd (Taski) come back to save me from this hell, although I keep losing touch with reality and hope. It's been two days without any food or any water in my system, and my body was beginning to give up and die slowly. I kept praying to God to save me, but my prayers remained unanswered; I even had doubts that God would even care for someone like me at this point. I felt like God had abandoned me and forsaken me for my past, but even then, I still kept on praying continually. With all that he's done for me, I wasn't willing to let go of him. I then fell asleep shortly after but was awoken by my stomach once more, only this time, and I threw up terribly while also doing everything in my power to keep my voice unheard by the creatures surrounding me. My breath tasted horribly, and my stomach felt like it had shrunk, I felt like at that moment I was on the verge of death. I then developed the hope that I'd die in this air vent, all alone and forgotten about by the world. Maybe they'll receive salvation from this devastation we're living in, or we may just all go extinct from this war with the Solar Pyramids. "I hope that death will just hurry and take me; I'd rather die and not exist anymore." I thought to my depressed mind with great sorrow. I continued praying to God that night silently. "Dear God, if you still care and love for me, please send someone to rescue me; anyone, God. I don't want to continue suffering like this anymore. Please, God of Heaven and my heart. Please answer my call." I prayed with all my heart.------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------(Ariah Marylinn){End of Ariah's Perspective} ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------{Narrative Perspective}Ariah remained hidden from the outside world to remain hopeful of Taski and those she loves and cares for. However, her heart kept sinking lower and lower past hope, and she nearly attempted to take her life by summoning her sword through her heart. Memories of her and Taski's moments flashed before her eyes and revealed to her the love he had for her, "Ariah, whatever you and I face in this life together, we'll both overcome it one way. Whether we're separated temporarily or continents away, I'll always come back for you because I care for you and love you dearly with all my heart. Please do me a favor and remember these words, for in due time, I believe we'll have moments of doubt and thoughts of surrendering everything, but please keep faith for us both. I love you, Ariah." The memories of Taski and her after their arrival from Tennessee played in her head. Ariah shed tears and sobbed heavily as her pain grew more and more; as she went on sobbing, a tiny bit of light from the moon shined over her in the room hidden off from the main building and shined upon her face. Ariah then looked up at the sun, covered by mostly red clouds, giving her a small drop of hope in Taski, keeping his words to her, "(Taski, my sweet prince, please... don't forget about me if I die here tonight. I love you, Taski; you are my future king and soul mate. I love you so much and am glad you and I teamed up at the training grounds that day. If I perish this night, then this is farewell to you and to everyone who survived the attack. I Love You, my sweet and dear Taski.)" Ariah wept her final farewell message to Taski and the world. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------{Returning to Taski and Mandy} NarrativeTaski and Mandy remained focused on pursuing any sign of hope they could discover in the ruined city of Treesape City. The two continued for hours and avoided all danger related to combat with the Dark Eibax soldiers; it was around 7:30 in the afternoon, and the skies were getting darker by the minute. Our two survivors then stumbled upon a large open area swarming with many Dark Eibax soldiers camping out, leaving them puzzled about the reasoning behind this. Mandy then examined the scene closer and realized the soldiers found refuge in the wide-open zone, "Taski, it seems to be a refugee camp for the soldiers; they seem very comfortable and well rested here. I can still sense your girlfriend's or whatever energy, although it's challenging to decipher who this female truly is. If we could somehow distract the soldiers and one of us goes in to rescue the lost survivor, we all might be able to pull this off successfully." Mandy suggested to Taski with wise thoughts.Taski agreed with her idea, although he wondered how this would work. Then, a thought came to his mind. After remembering Mandy's passive skill of her blood, he then proposed allowing her to drink from his blood to power her strength up. Taski then cut his left thumb to allow his blood to emerge; he then lent it to Mandy and offered his blood for a diversion to her. "I must warn you; I will become insane after consuming your blood, Taski. The only way to get my attention is to knock me in the head powerfully, hopefully you're ready for this. Don't let me see you or your *sign* girlfriend; I may become aggressive towards you both and kill you." Mandy warned him of her coming madness. She then licked his blood and began to feel her entire body pulse; she then urged Taski to escape her swiftly. He quickly rushed away from her, and she let out a mighty battle cry mixed with insane laughter. The soldiers awoke to her loud vocal cry and grabbed their weapons to prepare for battle; everyone, small, large, and titanic, rose to battle. Taski then felt fear swallow him terrifyingly, "Well, I guess this is her when she's powered up. I feel somewhat scared even to confront her now. Is that even possible to achieve? I've got to keep moving and forget about her, she'll slaughter all these soldiers I feel." Taski thought as he escaped the area quickly. While Mandy began to move in battle and face the many soldiers alone, her eyes became bloodshot, her muscles expanded, and her movement speed increased massively. She entered the air, sliced through the Titans like a maniac, and cut through the demonic creatures without a sweat falling from her chest. "Who can dare stop me? Try to prove you're better, you cheap rejects of hell." Mandy yelled aloud to the Dark Eibax soldiers. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------{Turing to Taski and Ariah's POV}Taski slid under a large store counter near a set of small shops and hid himself from the creatures until Mandy had captured the soldiers' attention. It had then become clear to him of the situation, and he moved out from the scene towards where the energy of the lost survivor was. He then felt the energy strongly inside a massive museum, he then headed toward the building, but was then halted by a large flying creature that swung down to swipe his face. Taski slid down and evaded the attack but was thrown off guard and swatted by the many creatures nearby. He then summoned his sword (Flame Core) and sliced off the many monsters' head, the blood of his enemies covered him and made him stink horribly, he rubbed off the nasty blood of the Dark Eibax and continued off towards the museum in pursuit of the survivor. "(I really hope this stuff comes off easily, and I hope that Mandy doesn't smell this and chase me.)" Taski hopes for in his mind. Taski continued, entered the museum entrance, and yelled, "ARIAH! ARIAH! SCREAM IF YOU CAN HEAR ME!"Then, many of the Dark Eibax dogs had awakened and began to approach him slowly after his emergency call. The dogs then launched out at him and attacked with their claws and sharp teeth, they smashed their teeth down, they tackled him, and they went for his blood as their main focus. However, Taski easily sliced through the mass group of Dark Eibax dogs; Taski then once again shouted, "ARIAH, ARIAH!" In hopes of reaching what he hoped was her alive and well. As his shouts echoed throughout the museum, the sound waves bounced and spread throughout the building. Ariah awoke to the sound of him, and her heart nearly skipped a beat after hearing his voice. "(That voice, it can't be. There's no way he'd go through all the trouble to search for me.)" She wondered and asked, stunned by the sounds spreading into her ears. She then sparked out of her hiding corner and sprung towards the vent door; only then did her pain immediately halt her movement. Ariah placed her hands on her stomach from the pain of hunger as she could hardly move, and she began building up her vocals for a scream for help. "TAAAAAAAAASKI!" She yelled with all her might. Shortly after, she then regurgitated out of hunger and nearly blacked out. Taski heard her cry for help and then rushed throughout the museum towards her voice, "Ariah, I'm coming!" He shouted for her in pursuit of her.Ariah then again shouted for help loudly; this time, her voice pierced the heavens with a mighty cry. Ariah then grabbed hold of the vent door and attempted to pull it off with the poor strength she possessed. Taski's fast-running footsteps became closer to her hearing; she yelled one last time for his name; only then did Taski enter the room where the vent held her. He yelled out loud one final time for her, and his voice instantly reached her heart. She finally cried for his name through the air vent near the wall, and he responded to her SOS call. He pulled the air vent door out of the wall with brutal force and crawled through to his love; he then stumbled upon the vent door that held Ariah in; without hesitation, he quickly pulled the door off. "Taski, I can't believe you came all this way, all through that trouble, just for one woman. You truly are the prince of this land." Ariah spoke to him softly and charmingly as she stared deep into his eyes and found herself lost. "I made a promise to you a while back, and I promised your father that I'd protect you with all I've got, even if it cost me my own life doing so, My sweet Ariah."------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
