Chapter 5 - Hunting for an Ol Time

Our three surviving heroes set out through the city streets of Treesape once more, and our heroes were trapped from the outer world due to the many Dark Eibax soldiers swarming the streets endlessly. Taski took the main lead and commanded Mandy and Ariah behind his follow; his heart grew anxious about what threats would emerge from the city's shadows. He kept his strength tall, and he remained faithful to his God; all the more, Taski stayed brave as he escorted Ariah and his troublemaker of problems, Mandy. "Everyone, I feel a strange presence around here. It's small, but let's stay sharp and focused; I don't think it's any of these creatures, or whatever they're called. Keep your eyes open." He whispered a command to the two. The three hid near a ruined office building; most of the glass was shattered and scattered throughout the main entry. Taski heard Dark Eibax soldiers stomping heavily through the streets; he covered Ariah's panic and fear over her chest to calm her feared heart while Mandy crawled onto the office ceiling and grabbed her knives for combat. Ariah's fear spilled as the soldiers came closer with each step near them; her sweat was heavy and brutal, and her voice was thrown into a frenzy of trepidation. "Shhh, it's okay. They won't touch or hurt you, I promise." He whispered to her sad and fearful heart. She then felt his warming aura of heat softening her soul and closed her eyes, as pitch black at the moment made her feel invulnerable from the threats beyond the building walls. However, shortly afterward, the soldiers began to rumble, and gunshots were fired off in the action. The loud gunshots made Ariah's anxiety flow through once again; although, Mandy peaked through a small glass window of the roof and spotted a tiny survivor fighting against the threats before her. She then took notice of the man in the fight, "That can't even be possible." Mandy stated, confused about the survivor's outstanding skills. She then knew the universal gunslinger, the one who brought her to justice, Fang, the bounty hunter. She then explained the commotion outside the building to her leader and announced the cause of the fight to him. Taski then commanded Ariah to hide in a dark place while he and Mandy fought.------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------(Fang: CV)------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------They then acted according to his plan, and the prince and his troublemaker joined forces and assisted Fang while Ariah moved out of sight and hid near a place close to her allies for their aid. Fang fired off many shots to the head of the soldiers and slaughtered them with no sweat off his brow; Taski and Mandy handled the others behind him and around. Ariah aided her prince with a strength and power stat boost while offering Mandy an agility and physical stat boost. Fang then grabbed his sword and sliced off the hands of the massive soldiers who made their attempt to hold his body; effortlessly, he slashed them, and blood splattered all over and around them. Taski slayed the ones that sneaked from behind the bounty hunter and summoned his flames towards the giants; Mandy slit the nape of the tall soldiers; while also avoiding their weapons of total massacre. The three in combat made mincemeat out of the tall soldiers, along with the many other variants that attacked, and shortly after the battle had concluded, the bounty hunter then attempted to grab a hold of Mandy. "HEY! What gives? I helped kill these creatures, and you're going to try still to lock me up? Get over the past." Mandy shouted with frustration. Fang then explained to Taski about her charges as his way to have a hold of his bounty, to which Taski replied, "No, you don't understand the situation. We need her alive and here; she could help us fix things." Fang then pointed his gun towards Taski's head arrogantly and argued, "I don't need you to explain things to me, Mr. Prince. I can't let you and your lady there have access to this criminal; she ain't nothin' but danger. It would help if you didn't trust everybody who speaks to you with promise; the perfect way to get yourself killed out there, kid. She'll stab ya in yur back and leave ya dead." The bounty aimed his weapon at Taski's head and walked closer to Mandy to take her in cuffs; however, Taski commanded him powerfully, "I made my words clear to you: I'm not letting you take her. If you want Mandy, you'll have to approach me first." The bounty hunter then burst out with laughter after the prince's command; he began tearing up with laughter and joy and could only think of Taski's words as comical nonsense. Fang then grabbed Mandy's shirt and pulled her into his grip. Taski shoved the Western hero away from her without hesitation. Then, the bounty hunter reversed his sights on the prince with fierce anger in his eyes and said. "Boy, let me tell you somethin. I ain't never seen someone with that much bravery even to touch my suit, and I've never thought someone like you would even think of assaulting someone like me. Ay, let out this here clip av bulleds all on ya if ya touch me again." The bounty hunter then pulled out his sword and pointed toward the prince in an attempt to start a fight; however, Taski remained calm and firm against Fang. Seconds afterward, the bounty hunter stared him off and thought to himself, "(This here, youngun. Ay don't care if he's that son of that err king, I'll kill him here and now if ay must. Maybe I should play it off faw ayy little, and then confront him face to face.)" He then dropped his weapon and apologized to Taski for his behavior, and the two shook hands in agreement to move forward with their mission. Later that day, the four found themselves walking on a lowered bridge connected to the streets near the body of water. They discovered that passage was safer to traverse the city as it stretched out far towards the castle of King David. "Hey, youngun. Why not tell me what it is yur lookin' for in this here city? What's y'all's goal? Y'all a-tryin' ta take a cruise, aw, are y'all on an actual goal here?" Fang asked Taski curiously. As the four walked quickly throughout the city, the prince remained quiet and to himself; this irritated Fang dearly and made him ask again. Taski remained quiet even then as he felt the guilt and shame of the current state of the world; he felt as though things were his fault. "(If only I didn't try to be a hero and hold all the stones at once. Maybe things could've gone better, and we wouldn't have this happening. This is all my fault, and I can never forgive my stupid self for trying to be number one in this fight, but I'll give it my best to fix things and return this world to order again.)" Taski continued walking as the bounty hunter yelled out to him again about his intentions, to which our prince finally told him about their destination and plan. Ariah looked at Taski, noticing his facial expression seemed off, and became worried about him, "(He doesn't look right. Taski didn't seem this way beforehand. I remember kissing him in the gas station the other day, and he seemed calm and at peace with me. Is something bothering him, or is he just thinking about his next move? Maybe I'm just overthinking, like always.)" Ariah wondered in her mind as she gazed into his face and heart. The four had then reached the long-awaited end of their walk on the river bridge under the streets and searched for another hideout, and the sun began to drop from the sky and settle in for another rest for the night. Our heroes discovered a large, beautiful hotel building that opened to them. They all settled into the hotel for the night and awaited dawn the next day. Taski and Ariah sat on the dusty and messed up bed and had small discussions together, while Mandy remained alone in a room, along with Fang on his own. "Do you think... that we can still be together, Taski? If we even make it through these troubling times? I still love you and want to be in your future with you, and I don't want you to die; neither do I want anything to happen to me." She asked and added to her question. Taski reassured her of her deep concern and held her close to his chest, and he warmed her close with his warmth surrounding her body. She wrapped her arms around his waist and began to shed tears. He then laid her down in the cleanest bed beside him, covering her under the covers. He then watched her throughout the night as her guard and the sun began to settle into rest while the soldiers of the skies appeared before the earth and swarmed around the city. Two hours after Ariah had fallen asleep, the mysterious bounty hunter appeared before Taski in a request to speak with him downstairs, "Hey kiddo, why don't ya come down to the entrance and me, and you talk for a minute." Fang requested him. The two walked downstairs towards the main lobby, stood in the darkness, and chatted. Fang then stood up to the prince and grabbed him by his shirt, addressing his encounter. "Listen here, kid, I couldn't care less if yur the prince or if you're even the king. I wanna know why you'd be tagging with this here criminal to save the world; you think she'd help you!? Have ya ever thought fur a second she could stab ya back?" He requisitioned the prince to answer him. Taski felt intimidated by Fang's actions and pleaded with him to repent his behavior; however, the bounty hunter only pressured him further and challenged him. Taski answered him and confessed his reasons for sparing Mandy's life. His answer remained unsatisfying, and the bounty hunter swung at his head with his weapon; Taski ducked under the swipe and backed away, catching his footing on a stable stance. "Kiddo, you aren't a bad fighter according to what everybody says these days; why don'tcha show me how you seemed to impress all Asalikians? You and me, here and now." The prince was against this idea of his and attempted to reason with him; unfortunately, the bounty hunter refused to listen and charged at the prince, regardless of the consequences.
