Chereads / Space Empire: Call of the Stars / Chapter 12 - Decision

Chapter 12 - Decision

'' You should know that if you ever decide to dive into space, it will be difficult to accomplish anything with the average lifespan of your species. Space is vast. Just traveling across the galaxy will take a long time, and breaking the limit will increase your lifespan, so you won't have to worry about dying before you explore 10% of the galaxy.

It can be reduced if you are a civilization of rank 12, but you haven't even reached rank 1.

Earth in its current state can be classified at rank 0.7 approximately, for the following reasons:

Ability to explore space:

You have the ability to launch satellites and explore the nearby solar system through robots (such as spacecraft that have reached Mars and Jupiter) and orbiting space stations, but you are still limited within the boundaries of the solar system.

Available energy:

You rely heavily on fossil and renewable energy, and have begun to experiment with limited nuclear fusion, but it has not yet reached a stable level for commercial use or space travel.

Artificial Intelligence Technology:

Artificial intelligence has reached an advanced level, helping in analyzing data and making decisions faster, but it is not completely autonomous and cannot be relied upon to manage complex planetary or space systems.

Biotechnology and Genetic Modification:

You have made progress in genetic engineering, but it is still within narrow limits, and the scope of its applications does not reach human gene modification to enable full adaptation to space environments.

Space Colonization:

You have not yet reached the ability to build self-sufficient human colonies outside planet Earth; space stations are still completely dependent on supplies from Earth.

In short, Earth is currently closer to Rank 0.7, where you have advanced technology locally, but you have not yet reached a stage that qualifies you to advance to the level of a full planetary civilization, that is, Rank 1.''

Dawn was speaking with some disdain, the technology on this planet was just backward technology to him

Karl felt embarrassed when he heard the tone of disdain in Dawn's words, he asked curiously, "What was your civilization's rank at that time?"

''We were the original rulers of these galaxies'' Dawn looked at a picture full of planets as he recalled his memories, he also sighed with regret at what they had reached

Karl noticed this so he did not continue speaking, he was shocked by his words, it seemed that he was facing something big, it was strange to see these human emotions for a mere artificial intelligence, he began to look forward to diving into the secrets of this civilization

''You are smart, and this injection will increase your IQ, otherwise you will not be able to keep up Technology in my database''

'' We had this kind of medicine that stimulates potential, but my data is locked, I can't access all the information, my functions are still at the highest level, but the information that can be accessed is determined by my master''

'' What do you mean by that? Are you locked too? '' Karl showed a surprised face as he listened to Dawn.

''You can say that. '' Dawn thought and agreed with him. ''The person who programmed me has set levels of information according to the rank of civilization. Whoever wants to access the information of the next rank must pass some tests.

There are some technologies that can bring disaster if the recipient does not understand the basic concepts well. One mistake and everything can be ruined. You can take the example of the nuclear bomb. If you do not have a complete understanding of all its aspects and dangers,

Even if I give you the formula, there will be a 90% chance of error, then 'boom' everything around you is destroyed. ''

''I see. '' Karl agreed with him and then asked, ''So what rank am I allowed to reach? ''

'' Your father has already unlocked rank 1 and has reached the information at rank 1,4, so that's your limit now, but it's better to start from the beginning.'' Dawn warned him after answering him.

'' Okay,'' Karl agreed, then looked at the syringe and inserted it into his arm without hesitation.

'' After you get injected with the syringe, you will feel a warmth that starts from the injection site and slowly spreads throughout your body. It may take about 15 to 20 minutes for the ingredients to fully interact with your cells and genes. During this time, your body will begin to perceive new frequencies that it has never experienced before.

'' You may go through three main stages in this process. The first stage is a feeling of warmth, as the compounds begin to penetrate your genes and activate the cells. The second is a feeling of slight pressure in your muscles and joints, as the cells begin to prepare to expand their capacity. This feeling may last for a few hours until you finish the first stage.

"Finally, you will go through a phase of self-renewal, which may be a bit painful; many feel a slight burning sensation in certain areas of the body or deep pulsations in the bones, indicating that the tissues and cells are preparing for the upcoming stages of training. All of this is to safely prepare your body to adapt to the possibilities of future upgrades."

Dawn began to explain as he watched Karl's body and the reactions taking place in it.

Karl immediately feels a warmth spreading through his veins, then his body gradually begins to respond, as if his internal energy is being reborn. He pauses for a moment to take a deep breath, ready to endure the coming pain and to take advantage of this opportunity to build his strength.

''If anything happens, can you take care of my mother? , My absence might cause her anxiety'' Karl gritted his teeth as he spoke to Dawn

''Don't worry, I have a program that imitates the sound and image, you won't be able to differentiate between the fake and the real'' Dawn waved his hand as he counted it

Karl thanked him then continued to focus on what was happening in his body, he felt like ants were crawling through every part of his body and then tearing it apart, but before he fainted from the pain, a warm current came and removed all that pain.
