Lily Street, No. 444.
A pure white room filled with stuffed toys and books.
On a soft white bed, Cro slowly opened his eyes.
Looking at the unfamiliar ceiling above and the soft bed beneath him, he took in a familiar fragrance in the air.
Frowning, Cro sat up.
He remembered meeting Hermione and accidentally ruining the large meat bun she bought.
And then... the system!!
Cro's eyes suddenly widened.
"Emotion Treasure Chest System? You might as well rename yourself the Scam System! What kind of system knocks out its host right at the start?"
[Detected: Resigned Emotion!]
[Insufficient emotion, no treasure chest awarded.]
Hearing the cold mechanical voice of the system, Cro's lips twitched with frustration.
The wool comes from the sheep, and the system uses it on the sheep! This system clearly understands how to recycle!
…
After grumbling for a bit, Cro fell into thought.
Having absorbed the information sent by the system, he now had a basic understanding of how it worked.
The Emotion Treasure Chest System.
To put it simply, Cro could earn rewards by triggering strong emotions in others.
As long as the other person's emotion was strong enough, he had a chance to earn various treasure chests.
The treasure chests were ranked: Bronze, Silver, Gold, Diamond, and King!
The emotions that could trigger treasure chests included excitement, anger, hatred, frustration…
Of course, not everyone's emotions would produce useful chests. The stronger the person and the more intense their emotions, the higher the value and rank of the treasure chest produced.
For example, if you angered two people—one being Dumbledore and the other an ordinary passerby—if their anger levels were the same, Dumbledore might produce a King-level chest, while the ordinary passerby might not produce a chest at all.
It was obvious who had more value! After all, one was a Muggle, and the other was the most powerful white wizard!
"Making people feel all kinds of emotions… making them mentally break?" Cro's eyes gleamed slightly.
"Making someone happy or excited might be tricky, but angering someone until they mentally break is quite easy."
"Are you sure you're called the Emotion Treasure Chest System and not the Doomed System?"
Thinking about the consequences of angering certain people, Cro already started considering where to bury himself after they killed him.
"Cro, you're awake!"
Just as Cro was feeling helpless, a crisp voice rang out, filled with barely concealed joy and excitement.
Cro looked up to see little Hermione standing at the doorway with a tray in her hands, her small face full of excitement.
[Detected: Strong Excitement Emotion!]
[Reward: Silver Treasure Chest!]
Whoa!
This is what they call a treasure girl!
How long have I known her? And she's already given me two silver treasure chests!
Cro was screaming in excitement inside, but on the surface, he furrowed his brow and put on a confused expression.
"Hermione? Where am I? Why am I here?" he asked. "Whose bed is this? Why does it smell so good? And what's this… a handkerchief?"
"Hmm, it's quite soft and smells nice!"
Hermione, who had just walked to a small table with the tray, heard his questions and looked puzzled. She didn't remember having a handkerchief on her bed…
Could it be…!!
Hermione's eyes suddenly widened, and she quickly turned her head.
She saw Cro holding a small pink piece of cloth, examining it, and even occasionally sniffing it curiously.
Seeing this, Hermione's breath hitched. Her small face instantly flushed red, her eyes filled with embarrassment and anger.
[Detected: Strong Embarrassment Emotion!]
[Reward: Gold Treasure Chest!]
A Gold Treasure Chest!
As expected of a treasure girl!
It's only been a short while, and she's already given me two silver chests, and now even a gold one!
If I could find a few more girls like her…
Cro felt like he had just unlocked the correct way to use the system!
…
Cro couldn't help but smirk, but on the surface, he maintained a confused and innocent expression.
He continued to play with the soft fabric in his hand.
Seeing this, Hermione hurriedly put down the tray and rushed to the bed in a panic. She snatched the pink cloth from his hand and quickly stuffed it into the wardrobe.
Only after finishing this did she let out a small sigh of relief. However, the embarrassment and anger on her face didn't dissipate at all.
That was her…
Before she could angrily question Cro, he preemptively asked with an innocent look, "Was that piece of fabric important to you? I'm sorry, I didn't mean to touch it."
"If you think it's dirty now, I can wash it for you."
Cro's words stopped Hermione's intended scolding mid-sentence. She narrowed her eyes, suspiciously examining Cro.
Looking at his sincere expression, with no sign of avoidance in his gaze, as if he truly had no idea what that piece of cloth was, Hermione could only reluctantly close her eyes and stop overthinking it.
Maybe he really didn't know what it was!
[Detected: Strong Resigned Emotion!]
[Today's treasure chest limit for this target has been reached!]
[Please choose a different target!]
Hearing the system's announcement, Cro wasn't surprised. He already knew from the system's information that each person could only provide up to three treasure chests a day.
It was just a bit disappointing to have missed out on one more treasure chest. Who knows, maybe it could've been another gold chest!
Just thinking about that made Cro's heart ache. Though he didn't know what was inside the chests yet, he was sure anything from the system had to be good!
The rewards were bound to be valuable!
