Morning.
"Come taste this! Today's breakfast was prepared by Cro. I just helped him a little."
"I didn't expect Cro to know how to cook! It's hard to believe he's only ten years old. Mmm, it's delicious! His cooking skills are almost as good as yours."
"When I was in the orphanage, I often helped Mrs. Will in the kitchen. Over time, I learned a few things, but my cooking is definitely not as good as Mrs. Granger's."
"Not at all! I think yours tastes even better than Mom's!"
[Detected two sources of happy emotions!]
[Reward: Two Bronze Treasure Chests!]
Hermione's words made Cro helplessly scratch his nose. He was trying to win over his future mother-in-law. Meanwhile, his future wife was unintentionally undermining him. But judging from the emotional rewards, the Grangers didn't seem upset by Hermione's remark.
The Grangers exchanged a glance and shook their heads in resignation. It seemed their daughter had already taken Cro's side, even though they had only known each other for a short time.
Mr. Granger took a bite of his bread and looked out the window to distract himself. But after a single glance, he put down his bread in surprise.
"Is that... a Scottish round-faced fat chicken?"
"What are you talking about? One might be a round-faced fat chicken, but the other one definitely isn't! Its face clearly isn't round!"
Looking at the two owls outside the window, the Grangers started arguing.
The two owls delivering the letters: ... Are you being serious right now?
...
Hearing the argument, Cro and Hermione turned to look out the window. Cro's eyes flashed with anticipation. If he wasn't mistaken, these were the owls delivering their acceptance letters!
"Seriously, those are owls, not chickens! Have you ever seen a chicken that can fly?" Hermione rolled her eyes.
"Huh? Are those letters they're carrying? Owls delivering letters? Are they imitating the Eastern tradition of carrier pigeons?"
"Forget that for now. Let's let them in first. It looks like these letters are for us."
Hermione expressed her doubt, but put down her bread and walked to the window to let the owls inside. After dropping off the letters, the owls flapped their wings and flew away. Before leaving, they made sure to leave a little "gift," perhaps as thanks for the "compliments" from the Grangers.
...
"If I see those round-faced fat chickens again, they'll definitely end up as roasted chicken on our Christmas dinner table!" Mr. Granger muttered as he cleaned up the owls' droppings. Once everything was tidy, they gathered to look at the two letters.
"What's this crest? A lion, a badger, an eagle, and a snake?"
"Hermione Granger—this one's for Hermione. What about the other one? Is it also for Hermione?"
"Cro Wells—this one's for Cro."
The Grangers exchanged a curious look. The letters were clearly sent from the same place, but who would send letters to two ten-year-olds? Although they were curious, they handed the letters to Hermione and Cro. Looking at the shield-shaped crest made of four animals, Cro couldn't help but feel a bit excited.
In his previous life, who hadn't dreamed of receiving a Hogwarts acceptance letter as a child? And this wasn't just a toy. This was a real Hogwarts letter!
"Hogwarts acceptance letter? Is there really such a school? And they deliver letters in such... magical ways?" Hermione furrowed her brows, puzzled.
The Grangers glanced at each other.
"Why don't you open it and see for yourself? Maybe it's a good school. Besides, you and Cro both received letters, so you won't have to be separated."
Hearing that, Hermione stole a glance at Cro. Seeing his excited expression, her face flushed slightly. Cro... was he excited about going to school with her?
[Detected strong feelings of shyness!]
[Reward: Gold Treasure Chest!]
The system's notification snapped Cro out of his thoughts. Seeing Hermione's bashful expression, he couldn't help but raise an eyebrow. Was this treasure girl self-guided in the art of seduction? A treasure indeed—she didn't even need him to make the first move! High praise!!
...
"Dear Miss Granger, we are pleased to inform you that you have been accepted at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Enclosed is a list of required books and equipment. The term begins on September 1st. Please confirm your acceptance by July 31st. Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Headmaster: Albus Dumbledore. Deputy Headmistress: Minerva McGonagall."
After reading the letter, the Grangers were left staring at each other.
They had long suspected that their daughter was a bit different, frequently doing things that seemed strange, things science couldn't explain. But with magic, everything made sense!
Hermione furrowed her brows again as she took out the shopping list.
"Books: The Standard Book of Spells, Grade 1, A History of Magic, Magical Drafts and Potions... A wand, a feather quill..."
"What are these things? I've never heard of these books. And where is Diagon Alley? Does such a place even exist?"
Hermione looked at her parents in confusion.
The Grangers shrugged, indicating they had no idea.
