"Great. I am happy to have you, Peter. Your room is on the second floor of the gym. I also lived here in case you're wondering why we put the room on the second floor. I will show you later. For now, you can help Tanya in her training. There will be another girl using the gym today. You can introduce yourself to her later. I hope you can help her too, like how you helped Tanya."
Peter nodded and left the office room after he received the key to his new room from her. He went to the training area and found Tanya doing cardio while activating her light magic. She was wearing gym shorts and a sports bra, showing off her curvy body. One that he explored thoroughly last night.
When she noticed him, she stopped doing her cardio and approached him with a smile on her face.
"Coach, how is the talk with Ava?"
"I got the job." He grinned as he approached her, "For now, I will be your personal trainer. Don't hesitate to ask anything. If you have a goal in mind, do tell me so I can give some advice."
"Really? T-Then... Can you help me improve my close-combat fight? I am not that confident about it." She looked at him with hopeful eyes.
Peter nodded and approved of her request, "I can help you to train your close-combat. Actually, that's what I am most confident with. But you need to trust me and do everything I tell you. Is that fine with you?"
"YES!" Tanya grinned excitedly upon hearing that he could help her with her combat style, "I want to improve my close combat more than anything else now that I am getting out of my slump. Thank you, coach! I will work hard!"
She beamed happily as she gave him a small bow of gratitude before running off to continue doing her cardio workout routine.
After she finished, they moved to the boxing area where they would spar with each other using real boxing gloves. Peter was wearing his sweatpants and sweatshirt at this point. He used a mat on both hands to guide Tanya movement.
"Okay, show me your punches. Feel free to attack me from any angle."
He signaled for Tanya to try attacking him first, which she did immediately without wasting any time.
"Here I go."
Stepping forward, she sent a right jab toward him. Even if her ability was Light Magic, her status was still higher than a normal person. A regular person wouldn't be able to stop her punch at all.
But Peter was a survivor of the dungeon who was trained for years in close-combat. Before the fist was even swung, he knew where the direction of her punch was. He raised his left hand, covered in mat, and diverted her fist easily.
"That's good. But don't stop attacking. Come at me with everything you have."
Tanya bit her lips and swung her left fist, only for it to be diverted as well. Peter moved sideway and positioned himself behind her without her even noticing it.
"Try to predict where I will go." He said as he slapped her butt lightly with his mat-covered hand.
"Eep, coach! I am not wearing pants so if you touch me there-" She looked at him with a flushed face and embarrassment written all over it, making him laugh a bit in response to her cuteness.
"You can't be embarrassed like this in battle, Tanya," Peter told her while putting a distance. "Everytime I have a chance, I will slap your ass with the mat. So try your best to keep your eyes on me."
The blonde girl looked at him with a worried expression on her face. But she soon returned to her stance and attacked him again, only for him to block it easily.
"There, do a variation. Jab, hook, and then uppercut. Don't focus on one attack and switch it up every time."
Tanya nodded and changed her movement slightly before swinging her right fist toward him in a different manner. The hook was powerful and unpredictable, but he still managed to divert it with his left hand.
Grinning, Peter thought to himself.
'She's improving steadily.'
As he made contact with Tanya, he was able to see some light in her body, a hologram seemed to appear before his eyes, showing him her optimal movement.
His Trainer Hands skill activated, showing him detailed information about where she wasted her movement and how to improve it. Her body actually blurred and 'She's still too far from perfect.'
After letting her do a punch variation, Peter made her stop and gave her some guidance.
"Look at this."
He took off the mat and put on a stance, raising his hands in front of his chest while bending his legs slightly.
"In a dungeon, your enemies are varied. There are monsters bigger than you, and there are humanoid monsters. But because you trained for the tournament, I would show you the best move to be used against a human opponent."
Tanya listened closely as he explained his move.
"This is called 'Waiting Game'. You won't attack them until they get close enough. Then, you dodge and redirect their attack while waiting for a good opportunity to land your own punch or kick on them. Like this!"
With a swift motion, Peter practiced a move that he used many times in the dungeon. He twisted his body to dodge an imaginary attack before landing his own punch on the attacker's neck and knocking them out instantly.
"It's simple but effective for this situation. It doesn't require much movement and it's easy to learn. You can try it now."
"Yes."
Nodding, Tanya got into position and did the same move as him. She dodged an imaginary attack before redirecting it with her left hand while keeping her eyes on the target before landing her own punch on their neck using her right hand.
Her movement was still stiff and sluggish.
Based on what Peter saw in the holographic that moved together with her at the same time, which merged with his vision at some point, she was moving with a lot of wasted movement.
"How is it, coach?"
"Hmm... Excuse me a little."
"Eh?"
