Chapter 10 - Chapter 10 – Signing Contract

Peter nodded and followed her out of the apartment. He was feeling strange for some reason. Walking with another person who was his student now felt slightly awkward for him. It had been a long time since he was alone for all these years. And now he had a student following him around. It was just weird.

He was feeling something new for the first time after 10 years.

Naturally, he missed the thrill of fighting monsters. He could enter a dungeon and get stronger, but his life goal now wasn't about getting stronger anymore. It was about enjoying life while finding his sister who was taken away from him.

That was different for Tanya, though. After talking with her, he noticed her strange obsession to get stronger. In this world where the dungeon wasn't really a threat, why did she want to become strong? Her life was already good enough and there was no need to push herself.

Curious, he decided to ask her.

"Why did I want to be stronger?" She repeated his question and asked herself out loud before turning back to him with a smile on her face.

"That's because of the Awakener Tournament. It's an event like a sport where Awakener created a team and fought against each other in order to get more fame and fortune. Stronger you are, the more you can get from the tournament. And I want to win the world championship no matter what."

'Tournament? There is something like that?'

He didn't expect there would be a tournament between Awakeners. And to think there was a world championship as well. That meant this was an international event with a lot of people joining it. He had to see it someday.

Or better yet, he might be able to create a team and train the members himself?

Stroking his chin, he nodded to himself while imagining what kind of scenario would happen in the future when he managed to gain more students. Maybe he could train them into the best team possible and have a champion team?

Having a goal always motivated him, so this was the perfect time for him to do that. With that goal in mind, he followed Tanya toward the gym. Ava was already inside when he entered.

The green-haired owner looked at him in surprise before grinning.

"You're not running away." She snickered, "And to think I would see you entering with Tanya. What a surprise."

"This is my first day at work. There is no way I am running away, no?" Peter gave her a wide grin as well, making her chuckle in response.

"Fair enough." She patted him on the shoulder and signaled for him to come to the office room together with her. "Let's talk for a bit. As for Tanya, do your personal training a bit. You can't slack off just because you have a coach now."

"Yes!" The blonde girl answered while grinning widely.

Tanya waved at Peter before going toward the changing room. He waved back before his attention got stolen by Ava who kept signaling at him to follow her into the office room.

The office was exactly what you would expect. There was a desk, chairs, shelves, some pictures displayed on the walls, and the usual stuff you would see inside one. Ava sat behind the desk and motioned for Peter to sit across from her before clearing her throat.

"Let's talk in detail about the job. Seeing you're fine and here, I will believe that you know the risk of being here as a trainer."

She looked at him seriously as if trying to confirm that he understood the danger involved in this kind of work. A danger that pushed away all male trainers. As for female trainers, there were a few of them. Most chose to pursue their career as an Awakener instead of training other people.

Peter nodded and assured her that he knew what he was getting into.

"The girls have a high pent-up desire, right?" He asked Ava while crossing his arms over his chest, "And that's why most male trainers couldn't take it anymore and left? Because they couldn't satisfy the girls? Or afraid of getting attacked by them."

Ava nodded as she leaned forward on the table, "I can't say I blame them, to be honest. I mean, most men are weak to pressure and don't want to do that with the girls when they force him, you know? You're truly an exception beyond exception. A good trainer who doesn't mind..."

Her voice trailed off as she realized what she was saying and quickly cleared her throat awkwardly before continuing.

"Anyway! As I said, there's a problem with our gym that I need to fix. The job of trainer I want you to do is just simply guiding all gym members in case they need help."

She pointed at him.

"Don't overstep your bounds and give advice to those who don't need it. Most girls are sensitive right now because the tournament is approaching. Some will lose control of themselves when they're frustrated and push you into a corner."

She warned him, "Be careful, okay?"

"Alright."

"Great."

Ava looked satisfied with his response. She smiled widely as she looked at Peter.

'Nice! I managed to secure a handsome trainer for my gym. Hehehe, that Rasha bitch can be useful sometimes. With this, I bet my gym will be filled with people now.'

All the famous gyms had famous male trainers in them, so having one too was something Ava wanted to have ever since she established the gym. Men in their prime with a handsome appearance would bring more customers than anything else to this place.

When someone was asked whether they preferred a handsome male coach or female coach, everyone would choose the former without hesitation. Many gyms went bankrupt because they had no male coaches.

'Not to mention, this person is a real one. He helped Tanya to get out of her slump in just a day. The advice he gave is strange but work. I guess that's a dungeon survivor for you.'

She knew it was a long shot, but she tried anyway. And she hit the jackpot with him, Peter Huston.

"I have prepared the contract. You can take your time to read it."

Ava gave him a paper and he read it carefully.

Peter didn't expect a lot of things as a first-time trainer. He had no record yet.

However...

'The condition is really good. No, it's way better than what I expected.'

Housing will be provided. Monthly pay + Bonus (The bonus depends on how many students you get. Base pay is $3,500.) Free use of the gym equipment and showers. Free food for every member of the gym. This contract will last for 3 months

'I thought it would be terrible. I am glad I am wrong.'

Smiling, Peter took the pen and signed it. There was no need to hesitate right now. The 3 months contract was perfect for him right now.

After signing the contract, Ava looked at it and nodded in satisfaction.
