Saeko was thoroughly enjoying this moment, the exhilarating feeling of slaughtering all her enemies in front of her was simply amazing, so much so that she was almost overwhelmed with excitement.
Standing on a mountain of corpses, Saeko took deep breaths, her chest rising and falling rapidly, using deep breathing to calm herself down.
"How does it feel?"
Altair stood on the rooftop beside the street, smiling and clapping his hands.
"It feels great, like never before!"
Saeko looked up at Altair with a smile, raising her lightsaber. Although the battle didn't last long, the magic power of the lightsaber had almost been depleted; it flickered like an unstable fluorescent lamp.
"It seems like I broke this sword."
"You didn't break it; it's just out of energy."
A magic stone bullet could be used for three minutes, and now the time was up!
As soon as Altair finished speaking, the lightsaber snapped and completely vanished, leaving only the hilt in Saeko's hand.
"Give it to me."
Waving at Saeko, she tossed him the hilt. Altair caught it, opened the battery compartment, and poured out the magic stone bullet. As it spilled out, he crushed it into powder that scattered in the wind. He pulled out a new magic stone bullet from his 4D Pocket and put it in, tossing the lightsaber back to Saeko.
"Alright, it can be used again."
Saeko tried it, and sure enough, the blue lightsaber reappeared.
"Let's go. I've found the source of the virus. We need to move; more zombies will keep coming from outside."
"Okay!"
Saeko put away her lightsaber and ran towards the base, while Altair followed on the rooftop.
The two arrived at the entrance of the base. Facing the large pit inside, Altair didn't hold back and directly picked up Saeko in a princess carry.
The height here was several dozen meters, and Saeko might not be able to jump down, so Altair helped her out.
Holding Saeko in a princess carry, he jumped down the edge of the pit, sliding down along the wall made of blood and flesh.
During the descent, Saeko wrapped her arms around Altair's neck, leaning against him, allowing him to enjoy the moment.
Once they landed, Altair set Saeko down and couldn't help but grumble to himself.
"Wow, you're heavy! You feel heavier than Hestia."
Maintaining the princess carry position, although Altair was now at Level 2, he had to admit that Saeko had trained well, making her weight noticeably heavier, especially in the chest area.
Of course, this was just a joking internal monologue; Altair didn't actually think Saeko was heavy... his wife was only soft and fragrant; heaviness didn't exist.
After putting down Saeko, the two walked into the corridor. Inside, Audrey and Maya had come out; they were curious about what was happening outside after Altair had left.
What they saw was a ground full of minced flesh, much of it charred.
What kind of terrifying explosion could create such a scene? A nuclear explosion?
Earlier inside, they had felt a violent tremor; it was even more exaggerated than the usual earthquakes in Japan.
"Alright, let's go in. We have a lot to do."
Altair directly invites them in to help him. Saeko could only assist in combat; she wasn't equipped to help with the biological research on the virus.
With Audrey and Maya's help, Altair collected all the virus data and the original virus samples before leaving the laboratory. This lab had been severely damaged, making it unsuitable for continuing research.
Therefore, Altair took all the experimental equipment and moved it to the aircraft carrier docked at the port. The aircraft carrier hadn't experienced any issues, as the soldiers here had left, and the few who had turned into zombies were already cleared out by Altair and Saeko, so there was no need to worry about zombies boarding the ship.
This aircraft carrier had effectively become a floating survival base, stocked with plenty of food that could supply thousands of people for several months, and the nuclear reactor could provide energy for an extended period.
Wolf Wisdom was indeed formidable; Altair spent a week successfully creating live viruses and using them to develop a targeted vaccine. This vaccine wasn't for defense; it was an active offense. These vaccines wouldn't interfere with other cells but would actively seek out zombie viruses and kill them upon contact, sacrificing themselves in the process... essentially a mutual destruction strategy.
The corresponding cost was that it required a large quantity to manufacture.
As such, Altair took Saeko to nearby countries delivering vaccines to surviving parties. Although they faced problems in countries with large populations such as Russia, China, India, and Indonesia, they quickly resolved them and used their rapid production capabilities to quickly restore order.
Altair tasked the surviving authorities to produce the vaccine, and with a large supply of vaccine from the four countries, he began to spray it around the world with the help of the army. Wherever there are zombies, they will go, quickly vaccinating most of the world.
The mission to save the world was finally deemed a success, and the entire task took two months!
This time frame didn't bother Altair; after all, it didn't affect the timeline in the Danmachi world, and he felt indifferent about it.
Looking at the task completion pop-up in front of him, Altair knew it was time to return.
But before going back, he had one issue to resolve; the ever-present Saeko who had followed him during this time.
