Chapter 10 - The Lonely Princess

As Mo Shen came back to his initial position, Mo Fan was still engrossed in his comprehension. He released the aura of the dao from his body around Mo Fan like he did for that woman.

All of a sudden, the woman's image appeared in his mind. He began to recall her beautiful long white hair, which was similar to his own. That was one of the most unique things about her. And her blue eyes which released a cold light when she opened them.

"Huh!" Mo Shen felt a movement from Mo Fan. Suddenly, he snapped out of his thoughts.

"Anyway, I don't really want to have anything to do with her. Romantic relationships can be detrimental to me health and my dao, so I'll stop here." As he said that, every thought about her disappeared from his mind, and peace reclaimed its throne in his mind.

"He actually succeeded." Mo Shen said with a slight surprise. Mo Fan had now entered the dao. Although Mo Shen knew it would happen soon, he didn't expect it to be immediately he released his dao aura.

Mo Fan stood up and examined his body. "Thank you young lord." He had felt the external interference, which made it posseble to enter the dao.

Suddenly, Mo Shen looked in surprise. "What? My time domain was still active?" After he left Mo Fan in search of the sensation, he thought the time domain will be voided, he didn't expect it to last till Mo Fan moved out of his comprehension state.

It's no wonder Mo Fan was able to enter the dao almost immediately after Mo Shen released his dao aura.

It seemed like the time domain was sentient and went according to his wishes. Because as he left Mo Shen, he subconciously wished the time domain will give Mo Fan enough time to reach the stage of entering the dao.

"It's also time for me to start my own comprehension." Mo Shen said as he sat cross-legged at the void to properly comprehend the Dark Void Dao. He had gone through the most important step, now it was time to turn it into his comprehension.

Mo Fan also sat beside him and immersed himself in the feeling of the dao.

In a large palace, somewhere in the Dao Universe.

A young woman entered a throne room where an old man was sitted at the throne. "I'm back grandfather." The woman greeted.

"Oh! You're finally back Shuang'er." The man smiled happily. Then he examined his grand-daughter. "Your cultivation has reached the peak of the Heavenly Immortal realm?"

The man was shocked at his grand-daughter's progress, especially since she was barely 500 years old. He was also quite pleased with himself.

"I'm sure in 100 years, you would have reached the peak of the Empyrean realm. By then, my empire will fully suppress all the major powers of this world and reign supreme." The man said as he laughed loudly.

The woman frowned without even bothering to hide her disgust. "Grandfather, I've told you several times, don't ever think you can control me as your puppet to help you conquer the world."

"If you want to conquer the world, get stronger and do it yourself. I will never interfere with the matters of the empire." She snorted in anger.

Hearing such, the man fumed with anger and was about to suppress the girl, but he later calmed down with a smile. "Don't forget you still have an engagement with the prince of that empire. You are marrying him on behalf of our empire, so whether you like it or not, you are a member of our empire, and you can't shirk your responsibilities."

The man smiled in his heart for his cunning self. 'Luckily I made that arrangement before she was born.' He thought to himself.

On one side, the engagement could be used to suppress the opposing empire's side since their prince will be in his hands. On the other side, the engagement could also suppress the princess, who was his grand-daughter. It would make her tied to the empire, unable to break those shackles as long as the marriage existed. And he knew she was someone who couldn't run away from her responsibilities.

When the arrangement was made, it never occurred to him that it would be used to shackle his grand-daughter who was a million-year genius. But now that he thought back to it, it was probably the best decision he had ever made since he became emperor.

'Tch. This old man, always looking for ways to use me.' The woman grumbled in her heart. This was one of the reasons she often stayed away her family. The entire palace disgusted her.

"Since the marriage was made before I was born, and had been agreed by both empires, I will proceed with it, as long as the boy is willing." The girl said angrily.

"Hmph!" The man on the throne snorted. "Does he dare disagree with it? If they dare to go back on their word, not only will he face a backlash on his cultivation since he swore an oath, but it will also give us a legitimate reason to attack their empire."

The girl angrily turned her back to leave the hall before she stopped as the man said something that angered her the more.

"That reminds me, the crown prince of the Limitless Soul Empire is here to see you. Even though you're already engaged, you can still build a relationship with him. Besides there are a few excellent women who have more than one husband."

Hearing that, the girl released a thick killing intent that even suffocated the man. "Old bastard, if you dare to bring that man close to my quarters, I'll definitely kill him. I want to see how you'll still be on good terms with their empire."

She walked out immediately, no longer interested in staying in the same room with her grand-father. She was seriously pissed off this time and didn't even hesitate to curse out, which was something she had never done in the past.

The crown prince of the Limitless Soul Empire along with some other young masters from various powerhouses had come on many occasions to see her. She had repeatedly rejected them using her engagement as excuse, but this crown prince, Hun Lian, didn't hesitate to tell her that he doesn't mind being her second husband.

Since then, she had grown distant with her empire. It was her grand-father that allowed, and even encouraged the men to come looking for her. He often organized banquets for them, even when she had repeatedly complained to him that she doesn't want to see them.

In the emperor's opinion, fostering a good relationship with the other powers was more important than her happiness. To him, she was just a tool for him to utilise, and her talent only made the tool more useful.

Although she never expected anything good, she still felt disappointed that her grandfather treated her in such a way. No matter what, he was still her grand-father, and the way he treated her cousins and her brothers were completely different.

Because of such treatment, she began to dislike the entire royal family, including her father. Due to that, she was almost always away from the palace, only coming back every 10-15 years to let them know she was still alive.

Her mother had died shortly after giving birth to her. It could also be said to be her fault, since her mother froze to death due to her phenomenon at birth. Her father hated her and considered her to be the cause of his wife's death. He remarried shortly after, and never cared about her. Even when she displayed her extraordinary talent in cultivation, it just made them to see her as chess pieces that they could use at will.

"I'm really tired of coming back to this place." The woman said as sadness and loneliness could be seen in her eyes. "After my marriage to that man, I'll definitely be leaving this palace forever. If he wants to stay and be a pawn, then I'll leave him, but if he wants to go with me, then I'll take him with me."

A few minutes later, she arrived in front of her palace quarters. Although it was spacious, it still looked deserted due to the absence of life for a long time. It seemed like no one came here in the 16 years she was away from the palace.

She walked into the palace without caring about her surroundings. She even preferred it to be quiet than for her to have nuisances around. In the past, it was her mother's quarters, but since her mother died at her birth, she had lived there alone right from when she was 5 years old. No one had ever served her since then.

As she was about to enter one of the rooms in her quarters, 4 people arrived at the palace, 1 man and 3 women. They all looked young. One of the women was in the 6th stage of the Empyrean realm, the other 3 people were in the 2nd stage.

"Welcome back your highness." The four of them knelt down on one knee and greeted their princess.

"Rise up." The woman said softly without turning back. Then she entered the room she was going to.

The room looked quite exquisite, compared to her palace surroundings. There was a black throne chair at the end of the room suspended by 6 stairs, and there were 4 iron chairs lined on both sides below the throne.

The princess walked up to sit on the throne chair, and the other 4 people sat at the iron chairs, 2 on each side.

"Gu Xie, when did you breakthrough to the 6th stage, I remember you were at the 2nd stage before I left 16 years ago?" The princess said without any surprise in her tone like she expected it. "And the rest of you, it seems you haven't been slacking off, you've all entered the Empyrean realm already and even reached the 2nd stage."

"Heh heh!" Gu Xie smiled shyly. "I broke through to the 6th stage 2 years ago your highness. It was all thanks to the techniques you taught us and the pills Gu Yin made for us. Gu Li reached the 2nd stage 7 years ago, and Gu Yin and Gu Xin reached the 2nd stage 3 years ago."

The princess smiled with joy. "Congratulations to the four of you on your breakthrough."

"How is everything going?" The princess asked them.

8 months passed quickly in the void, and Mo Shen finally stood up after a while. He turned to Mo Fan who was sitting cross-legged. "It's time."

Mo Shen spent the first 2 months comprehending the Dark Void Dao. After he properly comprehended it, he moved around the void for 3 months, studying the arrangements of all worlds in this realm. And he used the remaining 3 months to comprehend the Billion Start Dao.

Mo Shen then looked around the void. After his comprehension of the 2 daos, he felt more comfortable in the void. He could now see all around the void clearly even though it was still as dark as before. He looked through the different worlds around him, feeling the difference between them.

At this point, all the worlds around him were middle-class worlds. The Undying Phoenix world was also a middle-class world in the galaxy of the Dao Universe realm.

"Now, there's only 2 years till I'm 20. We don't have time, I need to devour this world core as fast as I can." Mo Shen told Mo Fan as he stopped admiring the void and led them into the Undying Phoenix World.

Immediately they entered, Mo Shen spread out his divine sense to search for the world core. He found it soon and appeared in front of it. He sat down on the air in front of it and began to regulate the aura of the 3 daos required for it in an attempt to devour it.
