Chapter 5 - 5 - CHAOS

ALPHA CLYDEN

"You are playing a dangerous game Alpha. The council trusts you now, but one wrong move and they'll be vultures prepared to devour you"

One of the council advisers told me as soon as we were alone. I have informed them of my plans and the recent adversary the company has encountered and obviously they are all skeptical at how I am handling the situation.

They simply hate that I managed to decide something so trivial without their knowledge.

They hate that I am only telling them and not allowing them to express their own opinions of the matter.

I may look petty and unruly to their standards but I am still their Alpha and I have been their Alpha for the last 15 years. Since I have been put into power, I have dedicated all of my energy into preserving and maintaining the safety of the pack. I have managed to pull our pack into one of the strongest and fearsome packs in the world and they still manage to question me with all of my decisions.

They should be grateful that I even still manage to inform them despite their lack of support towards me. Just because they are the people who once served my father and his father before him. I still hold value for their lives even with their lose tongues and their useless ideas of expansion.

The world has managed to changed it view on how to treat the underworld and humankind. Multiple treaties has been made and there are rules, laws made by leaders of different species to make our world, a better place to live for all races.

"As much as I appreciate your comments, I already decided to push through with the negotiations and as for the girl. Jada is quite fond of her and I have been receiving multiple requests from the council that I order my dearest friend to go back and stay within the premises of the pack. Since I have granted her friend refuge I believe she'll finally go back and stay. Now isn't that more appealing?" I paused to watch his reaction and just like I suspected, with the mention of Jada's name, they simply agree to whatever.

Jade is a high witch, one that is gifted and fearless. She is part of my own little council and I have been protecting her since she decided to explore the world and be more one with herself. She hated staying within the pack and being praised by many elders for her gifts. Because of the elder doting on her, she tends to lose control over her emotions and that would sometimes resolve to me trying to rebuild buildings, doors, kitchens, walls and different other things that she would set off her energy to.

It was a huge relief to me when she finally asked for my intervention for her to be sent out of the lands and just be a normal witch living in the city of New Davies. She is still part of my pack, but I have let her live her life as free as she wants it to be.

Well that was yesterday, now they are on their way back to the pack lands and train the unusual rouge, Jada coming back to the pack lands is what the Elders want and that would make them shut up for awhile.

"I shall inform the rest of the council then Alpha. This is good news" He smiled and turned around to leave me be. Just as I thought he would be.

I was left to think alone and my mind led me back to that rouge. She was different. I saw her past and how she was treated. I saw glimpses of blood pouring out od her mouth and nose from all the beating, but she still manages to survive. I felt her wolf too. She was a halfling, a weakling within the werewolf race. A weakling that could be useful in times of infiltration and gathering more information.

That is what the other Alpha's doesn't see.

For generations we were led to believe that we should treat omegas and halflings like slaves. Bottom of the werewolf hierarchy. I have learned from the past that even those of the lowest bloodline can secure a throne only if you give them the chance to prove themselves.

The rejection and constant pain they experience because of their bloodline is what I needed to come up with the perfect assassins and spies appointed and planted to different places, gathering intel in the shadows. They have been my network of intelligence and they have been trained to withstand anything to gain something.

"Eldis" I summoned my shadow and seconds after he shows up.

"As orders, Beta Ello and the high witch Jada are on their way back to the pack lands. The lady is safely being transported with them Alpha." Eldis reports to me as soon as he was certain that no one else was listening.

"Prepare the jet. We're going home"

Eldis disappeared as soon as he received his orders. I was left alone on my own and as they prepare for our departure I managed to check some of the recent intel's mailed to me by my spies. We have a private, secure line, where they can all give me the most recent updates to their tasks. With the companies influence, we were able to make a connection that is bulletproof and resistant to anything and anyone who wishes to peek.

Eldis came back soon after, informing me that everything has been settled and done with. He kept walking behind me with a safe distance and as I enter my car, like any shadow, he simply disappeared, leaving me with the rest of my warriors to accompany me.

Though I can pretty much protect myself, the elders of the pack still requires me to bring warriors with me for my safety. I can simply go against their orders but to make them shup up and let me do the heck I want to do, I followed. One small act of submission to get me to where I need to be and have the freedom to do things the way I want them to be.

My father has trained me to become wise and to never break. I had to become the shield that guides the pack to its full potential.

To say I have sacrificed a lot for the pack is an understatement. I had to trade my soul for my people to live on, my own happiness in exchange for theirs and my very own freedom for their sakes.

This is the curse of every Alpha, every leader and every powerful person living in this generation.

"Alpha, everything is set. Your orders?" one of my warriors informed me as the cabin crew informed him.

"Let's go home"
