Chapter 52 - 52. Security company

Soon the two guys, Michael and Lewis, together with Alexa, went to Lewis' Big E studios with their lawyers to discuss all of the particulars.

While the auditing team will visit the studio tomorrow to check upon the company's assets and debts in order to evaluate the company's entire valuation.

So, as lawyers negotiated for a better term for their clients, Michael and Lewis were planning the next project for the production, Sam's 'laugh in mayhem.'

After a couple hours of negotiation, the lawyers had a tentative plan for a merger that could please both parties, so everyone returned home as the night fell.

...

Two days later, Michael returns to Bobby's office and knocks shortly before entering.

Michael takes a seat opposite Bobby and gives him an envelope detailing the completed merger plan, among the other details.

Bobby opens the envelope and reads the document, which describes the plan in detail.

Michael then goes on to explain: "So, we have acquired 51% of the stake in the Big E Studios at the cost of $80 million, while Lewis will have the remaining 49% for himself, while we will have full access to their film library, so although Lewis will still be the chairman, the CEO will be ours who will operate the company."

Bobby was pleased since this is an excellent bargain; they spent half the price for a majority ownership and yet have complete control over the company's operations.

Big E Studios will soon be referred to as Big E Pictures since the studio is going to be Lilitale, and Big E Pictures will be a subsidiary that will create comedy-centric films for the studio.

Michael adds, "I will also be going to Big E studios... no... I mean the Big E pictures now, to work as an executive producer."

Bobby was confused, seeking clarification, "Why would you want to work at a third-tier studio?"

Michael did not respond but stated, "I have my reasons."

'Okay then!' Bobby didn't think about it much anymore because Michael's decision seemed so set.

...

Michael then arrived at Big E Pictures with his bags and Secretary Alexa in tow.

Michael was pleased with the office provided to him by Lewis, and he took Ted Reiner, an Italian man who had recently been appointed CEO by Lilitale Studios for the Big E Pictures, to meet with Lewis.

Lewis was relieved to discover that an Italian had been appointed CEO, as he would be uncomfortable working with someone from another faction.

When everyone had taken their seats in the conference room, Michael stood up and said, "All right, everyone, it's time to get working. The current task for all of you is to create a successful film to demonstrate the value of this company to Lilitale Studios for acquiring it."

"So your job is to release a new movie approximately in May, so that four months should be enough time for everyone to make the sequel of the movie 'Laugh in Mayhem'."

Everyone nodded and agreed with Michael's statements since he is the boss here. Lewis was also pleased that the filming of the movie will resume.

Regarding the bank's loans, once they learned that this studio had been acquired by Lilitale Studios, they stopped bothering Lewis, which irritated him because when it was his turn, they didn't trust him, yet once Lilitale acquired his company, they had boundless trust.

...

Sam, on the other hand, was working at the studios as usual while also taking on a few other things.

After leaving the office, he appears at the WM publication and walks into the chairman's office because he came to this company for a brief inspection.

Sitting inside the office, Billy notified Sam of the total number of copies sold over the previous twenty days.

So, after more than twenty days, the Harry Potter book has sold around 3 million copies, making it the best-seller in the fantasy genre. Upon observing the company for a little while, Sam headed back to his office.

Pedro eventually came to a halt at the Sparkling Studios' entrance while his phone rang.

Sam noticed that they had arrived at the company, so he opened the car's door and went to his office. Pedro answered the phone once he finished parking the car.

Inside Sam's office, because of his office's inverted glass, individuals inside can easily observe visitors outside, while those outside have no way to gain an inside view. So Sam noticed Pedro waking towards his office.

Pedro knocks and arrives seconds later inside the door.

Sambeckons for him to take a seat. Pedro smiled and took a seat, saying, "My colleagues have contacted me and confirmed that they will do the job for us as security agents."

Sam asked curiously, "So how many people are interested in doing this security job?"

Pedro responds, "Around 15 people have confirmed to come, including 10 men and 5 women. And all of them are retired special forces members."

"While a few people's replies have not come in since they might be doing some tasks currently on the foreign land," concludes Pedro!

Sam responded with a nod: "So what we have to do is that, we will open a security company while you will not just hire those veterans but also try to get new recruits to train."

"And the salary and perks standard should be the best from the rest of all the other companies to show our sincerity to them."

Pedro agrees with Sam's statements, meanwhile Sam calls Claire to his office via the intercom.

When Claire arrives with her freshly hired two assistants, Sam tells her, "You have to establish a company named 'Shell And Nemmo,' or SAM, for us to open a new security company.

Pedro will be the leader of the company, while you will find somebody to take on the role of the CFO for that company."

Claire nodded and directed one of her assistants to write down Sam's instructions.

Sam also told Pedro to look for locations in Nevada or on the border along with California that could serve as a base for training and operations.

Although Sam is a martial arts grandmaster, bullets lack eyes; thus, while he can fight thugs or criminals, he cannot battle individuals carrying snipers who can fire him from a distance of 2-3 kilometers.

So doing all of this is just precautionary measures against his potential opponents.

The process to obtain a higher status in any field is fraught with danger.
