Chapter 53 - 53. Reviewing a new film

Around twenty days later, on the 31st of January,

Sam, along with his new security team, visited the WM publisher to meet Billy and confirm the preparations for the release of his new novel, which is in the children's book genre.

Christian, the chief editor for his publishing house, was waiting for him at the entryway as always. Christian is a diehard fan of Sam's works. He has already finished reading Pinocchio three times since getting his hands on the book.

Sam enters Billy's office, signaling Christian to follow him. He asks Billy and Christian about tomorrow's preparations for the release of his novel, which is on February 1st.

While both guys chuckled and informed him that there was no problem and that everything, from Sam's marketing advice to distribution, was going well.

Sam's marketing strategy for the new novel book is simple yet effective, such as hanging posters with two-line character introductions near elementary schools, internet cafés, or children's parks.

They gave out free copies to the kindergartens in major cities so that the kids would be interested in the book and guide their parents to go buy it for them.

Sam's plan centered around children, so this time he spent less money on TV commercials and instead placed posters and flush toys in places frequented by children to pique their curiosity in the book.

Additionally, this time around, bookstores learned from the previous experience and purchased more copies of Sam's novel, saving the time that they have to wait for the additional copies to be printed.

Then he goes over the Harry Potter sales report, which shows 6 million copies sold to date, with a calm expression.

Billy stared at Sam's calm expression and ranted, "It sold 6 million copies in North America, not just 6 thousand, which means that you should display a beaming or ecstatic face; then why are you so placid?"

Sam responded to him without looking up, "This is normal for me, and I will write even more exciting novels in this genre!"

Billy consented in front of Sam, while thinking in his heart that this was Sam boasting, whereas Christian believed Sam's statements despite not knowing about the system's existence.

After leaving the publishing firm, Sam returned to his studio auditorium with Philip and other executives, as well as Denis White of Rock Pebble Studios.

They will watch the finished film of 'destined to be with you' together today since post-production for the film concluded a week ago.

Everyone entered the theater and took their seats in accordance with their positions.

Sam, Denis, along with other professional reviewers from both studios, took their seats as the lights dimmed in the auditorium.

Although he enjoyed the film, Denis was concerned about its length considering the film was nearly three hours long, which was a little longer than typical Hollywood productions.

In relief, Denis sighed when the movie analysts handed him the review sheets that showed their positive reaction.

Although the analyst's judgment is not a total assurance, he will not be held accountable if the film flops or fails to generate the expected revenue to his studio because, from the start, he didn't like the idea of working with a newcomer like Sam.

After saying his goodbyes to Sam and Philip, Denis White returned to his studios to deliver the film's evaluation to his superiors.

After they left the auditorium, Philip grumbled to Sam, "This guy Denis has been very insincere about our movie from the beginning."

Sam simply ignored it, stating, "It's fortunate for everyone that he didn't obstruct us while filming."

Philip nodded and said nothing more. They will not be meeting each other now that the film is over.

Sam knew what Philip was thinking, but it didn't bother him because he knows people like Denise are very traditional.

Denise dislikes taking risks in the filmmaking process; therefore, he prefers to work with renowned filmmakers, well-known actors, and crew, but this time, their chairman assigned him to produce a film with a rookie director and a second-tier cast.

Although he disliked it, he refrained from commenting because his chairman had instructed him to simply listen to Sam on the set.

This is also why Rock Pebble's chairman appointed Denise to this assignment, as Denise is a person who always adheres to orders.

Michael was presently on the set of 'Laugh in Mayhem', observing the crew's work.

After speaking with the director and the producer, Lewis, Michael felt reassured and told Lewis to come to the company after finishing today's work.

After 6 p.m., Lewis drove to the Big E Pictures. When he arrived in Michael's office, he sat alone. Looking around, he noticed that everyone had already arrived at Michael's office.

Michael nodded to everyone, motioned for them to be quiet, and said, "All right, I'll be in Poland for a few months for family matters. So you'll all be in charge of Big E Pictures alongside Ted Reiner."

Everyone just nodded, as the company was working nicely under Ted's leadership.

After giving Ted and Lewis a few more instructions, he tells everyone to head home.

When Michael gets home, the butler notifies him that the owner is waiting for him in the study room.

Michael nodded to the butler and proceeded to the study area. Although Sam mentioned him at the party as middle-aged, Michael is only 35 years old this year.

While his father is likewise a 50-year-old muscular and robust man. And because of his diet, Ethan Greenberg does not appear to be an elderly guy; instead, he somewhat resembles Michael's older brother.
