Chapter 50 - 50. Michael's plan to acquire Big E studios

A few Jewish producers and financiers, including Benjamin Goldman, Isaac Eisen, and Ethan Greenberg, came together fifteen years ago to form a studio to compete with other factions in the industry.

Because these Jewish people were oppressed and attacked by other factions, they decided to band together and create a platform for themselves to prosper in this business. So Lilitale Studios is a business founded by Jewish individuals who are recognized leaders in the current film industry.

And, despite the fact that Lilitale Studios was founded only 15 years ago, they were able to dethrone Universal Studios, a first-tier studio. It has been a decade since the Lilitale studios have held this position.

However, they are also shrewd, since they were able to dethrone Universal Studios by bribing or poaching half of the executives within the studio, rendering a first-tier studio inoperable.

This is also why others worry Jews, as they are brutal against their competitors and highly business-minded.

So Lilitale Studios' path has been akin to walking a tightrope, and they must proceed with caution.

After completing the history lecture and returning to the present:

Inside the CEO's office at Lilitale Studios;

Bobby Vance was reviewing and signing documents as part of his everyday routine.

However, he appeared distracted. Because he was also considering ways to expand their studios' film archives, as they were unable to compete with the older studios in terms of quantity.

Meanwhile, Michael reaches outside the CEO's office, knocks on the door, and enters the room after a moment.

Bobby notices Michael's arrival and says, "Come, Michael, please have a seat, and there's a glass of water if you need."

Michael declined the gesture and inquired, "I heard you are planning to acquire a third-tier studio or something like that."

Bobby nodded and expressed his concerns that their studio's film catalog was inferior to the other top-tier companies. And so he planned to expand the film collection by merging with other companies, such as Tier 3, which is inexpensive and may increase the number of films by a significant margin.

Michael ignored Bobby's concerns and asked, "You know the guy named Sam Sandles, right?" The one who has recently received a lot of attention in the industry!"

Michael continued, while Bobby nodded, "So I observed that the first movie he made is in the hands of Big E Studios, and they also control the sequel rights. And Big E Studios is also the ideal studio for our investment because it has produced many good movies that can help us in a variety of genres of movies because they mostly produce comedy films, which we lack."

Bobby was unfazed by Michael's exchanges, and Michael was mindful that Bobby would only agree to him when he received tangible rewards.

So Michael reluctantly says, "Alright, do exactly what I say, and I will support you when you need to make some decisions in the studios."

Bobby's face softened, and he gave a sunny smile as he enthusiastically said, "Yes, yes, the Big E Studios is just the right studio for us and is good for us to acquire it."

Michael was amused and believes Bobby should pursue a career in Broadway rather than doing office politics while being the CEO, due to the fact his face-changing techniques are similar to Audrey Hepburn's.

The fact that Bobby immediately consented to Michael's proposal is simple: this deal will not affect him, and Michael is the son of their company's largest shareholder, thus having a promise from Michael is beneficial to him when he needs allies in board of directors meetings.

Inside Lilitale Studios, there are two significant factions: Jewish and non-Jewish. And Bobby, as a member of the non-Jewish faction, can obtain the support of a Jewish shareholder, which is a good thing.

This is also the advantage of Jews being business-minded: they openly promote and employ talented individuals like Bobby without much entanglement.

Michael offered this promise to Bobby because he believes that with Bobby's leadership and planning, their studio will be able to increase its revenue, which is all that matters to him.

Michael's primary purpose in purchasing the Big E studios is not just to target Sam but also to better understand his thinking and creations.

Sam has developed two successful films and is currently producing two more films plus a best-selling novel, prompting Michael to consider Sam's creative ability.

So Bobby delegated the task of acquiring the Big E studios to Michael, believing that it could help Michael improve his merit.

After their talk, Michael returns to his office.

Inside his office, Michael asks Alexa to arrange a meeting with the person in charge of Big E Studios.

Alexa nodded and returned to her desk outside Michael's office and called the person for a meeting that was requested by Michael.
