After the homeroom teacher the now crown prince Theodore gave a speech as the student representative.
"I know that there are many students from various backgrounds in this academy so don't discriminate based on each other's status or background. We must form studentship based on equality in the academy ground. Any mistreatment will be handled appropriately by the student council."
Erika felt a bit unease about this speech but she shrugged it off shaking her head.
"I must be imagining things." She thought.
"Is everything alright, lady Erika?" Maruschka asked.
"Is me being in the same room with you bothersome to you?" She asked slightly anxious.
"Oh, no it's not like that. I am happy to have you as my roommate." Erika replied. She was a bit flustered.
The welcoming ceremony ended uneventfully and the students were not given any class for the day.
Rather they were free to look around the academy and familiarize themselves with its internal settings.
Erika and Maruschka took their bags and went to see their dorm room first. Bauer joined them after they exited the main building.
It was a three storied building. The building itself was very beautiful fitting for housing the top class aristocrats of the country.
Maruschka was mesmerized to see such a grand building not to mention the fact that it would be the building she would live in.
They entered the building and looked around. Many students were walking around the corridor to look for their rooms.
The interior of the building was as grand as the exterior.
Various decorations in the walls were eye catching followed by the paintings of the great students who used to live in the rooms.
Maruschka was in awe. She kept looking around the decorations and paintings.
"Lady Erika who are the people in these paintings? Are they some influential people?"
"Yes, they were the former students of the corresponding rooms who have achieved greatness in the future."
"Wow, do you think one day even my painting will hang in the wall like this?" She asked innocent and eager.
"Sure it may one day." Erika replied. She smiled at the genuine innocence of the girl beside her.
"Of course you are the heroine of this game. So why shouldn't it hang there." She thought but didn't say.
"Really? Do you think our paintings will be hung side by side." Maruschka seemed even more excited.
"Fufu, who knows." Erika laughed.
"I was wondering you must be someone of great standing. But to see that you don't even know about our great ancestors, you must be someone real ignorant." A girl's voice spoke to Erika and Maruschka.
Turning around, they saw two noble girls standing behind them.
"Fufu, looking at your demeanour, you must be that commoner who got enrolled this year. Are you not?" The second girl said.
"I don't think they would go so far as to assign the same building as the crown prince to a commoner like that." Another girl joined the conversation.
"Yeah I think she is just ignorant and too absorbent in her own little world." The first girl spoke.
"So tell us who are you?"
Maruschka was scared she didn't know what to do. She trembled with fear about what would happen if they know about her identity. Not every noble was like Erika.
She glanced at Erika for a bit and then looked down to the ground.
"I-I..."
"Hey, you know it's rude to talk like that before introducing yourselves in front of a great noble."
Erika reprimanded the three girls. She knew that if she didn't do anything now, Maruschka would be in trouble.
Coming from a modern society, Erika disliked the idea of aristocracy and didn't want her first friend in the new world to fall a victim to it in front of her.
"You should know that I am Ge... Erika Raubenbraum. The daughter of Duke Walther Raubenbraum and this girl here is my friend."
"Oh, we are extremely sorry lady Raubenbraum."
The three girls were flustered. They bowed down their heads before Erika while apologising.
They didn't know about Erika but the fact that they acted like that in front of a higher noble was enough to turn them pale.
"Don't worry, I won't hold it against you. But remember what the His highness the crown prince said before. We mustn't treat our fellow students badly due to their ranks or status."
Erika knew that scolding them would backfire and they may try some funny stuffs with Maruschka when she isn't around.
So instead of making any harsh words she tried to explain to them.
"Please forgive us lady Raubenbraum. We will remember it."
They asked for forgiveness once again.
"If you want to apologise then say sorry to her." Erika pointed at Maruschka.
"Sorry lady.... um what should we call you?"
"Ah, it's Maruschka. I am the commoner."
Maruschka got back a bit of her confidence.
"We are sorry lady Maruschka."
It was clear that they were taken a bit aback when they heard that this girl was indeed the commoner.
Though they didn't dare to show their dissatisfaction in front of Erika.
"Please allow us to leave lady Raubenbraum, we have yet to find our rooms."
The girls almost ran after saying these few words.
"So bullying the lower ranks just after enrollment." Someone said before passing by.
This time it was male and Erika couldn't recognise him. He just brushed past after uttering the few words.
Erika tried to look for him but failed in the sea of students. She felt uneasy.
"Something's not right." She thought.
"What a rude guy." Maruschka frowned with her both hands on her waists.
"Don't worry maybe he was referring to the three girls from before." Erika said.
It sounded like she was trying to convince herself more than Maruschka.
Bauer was also angry with the person but since she is just a maid, it was impossible for her to intervene in any conversation. All she could do was assist Erika whenever she could.
"Anyways let's go see our room." Erika said.
Three of them went up the stairs to looking for their room.
The second floor was a lot less crowded and there were almost no students.
Soon Bauer noticed the room assigned to Erika.
" Kom... milady, here is our room." Bauer called out to them.
Erika frowned. Bauer was almost about to call her Kommandant, as if they were in the camp.
Maruschka didn't notice this anomaly.
"Why are you mistaking things now? You never did that in the territory before." Erika whispered to Bauer.
"Extremely sorry, milady." Bauer whispered back.
"Lady Erika, let's go and check our rooms." Cheerful request from Maruschka broke their conversation.
They stood in front of the wooden door which had the name plate of Erika and Maruschka.
The door was dark brown and the nameplate was black with silver border. Erika brought out the key handed to them before and opened the door. The three entered their room.
It was a spacious room with yellowish color walls and a giant window on the southeast side. Two beds were set side by side while two smaller ones were at a corner. The room also had an attached bathroom and a separate toilet.
All the furnitures were neatly arranged as well including the sofas and shelves.
In one word the room was fully prepared to accommodate two high ranking aristocrats and their maids.
The beds were soft and fluffy as well. Bauer and Maruschka were shocked to see this arrangement.
They thought that the arrangements would have to be made by them. However, Erika knew the system from the game. So she was not as much shocked.
Maruschka couldn't help but rush to the bed to feel it's fluffiness.
As she lied on a bed spreading her arms and legs just like a child, both Erika and Bauer couldn't help laughing a bit.
